5 Introduction Overview Maintenance is a comprehensive, integrated system for the planning and organization of maintenance and inspection tasks. Application range of Maintenance Your work with Maintenance begins after you have planned the unit with the relevant COMOS solutions. COMOS has an integrated structure that allows you to perform all the necessary tasks on the same database. You collect and process the entire technical information on the industrial unit in a central information system. You have the option of updating data if reconfiguration or maintenance work takes place. The data is then available again over the entire life cycle of the unit. In addition, it is possible to include maintenance aspects as early as in the planning phase. Unit structure This manual describes how you can design structures in Maintenance. This involves a suggestion for a possible unit structure that can be considered as ideal from a maintenance perspective. 1.2 Prerequisites With the Maintenance solution, you can plan and process various types of maintenance. You need to be familiar with the basics of the COMOS and need to know how to work with typical resources. All examples and explanations are based on the database delivered with the setup browser. Before you start to work with Maintenance, you will need to have the appropriate licenses for the various solutions. To be able to use the planning sequence on which the following description is based, you should already have unit structures and corresponding objects in COMOS that will now be extended by maintenance information. You can find additional information on this topic in the "Operation" manual. 1.3 Making the basic settings Before you can work with Maintenance, you will need to make a couple of settings. 6 Introduction 1.4 User interface 1. Open the project. 2. Open the project properties. 3. Select the "Operations > Maintenance" category. 4. Activate the following options in the "Options" control group: "Is maintenance project" "Use Event Manager" 5. In the control group "Options", enter the users project in the field "Company DB". In the database, the project is called "USERS". 6. Select the category "Operations > " and make the necessary settings. You can find additional information on this topic in the "Operations Administration" manual, keyword ""Operations > " category". 7. Save your settings. You can find additional information on this topic in the "Operations Administration" manual, keyword "Configuring general project options". 1.4 User interface COMOS interface and plugins The user interface in Maintenance is the normal COMOS user interface; a modified user interface is only used for the "Direct" plugin and the user-defined menu configuration. Planning and processing of maintenance is partially done in the familiar COMOS Navigator and partially using plugins. You enter maintenance information for scheduled recurring work packages in the maintenance plan. You have the option of creating the maintenance plan below various objects, such as equipment, a functional location, or a unit. The maintenance plan is visible not only in the Navigator, it can also be displayed in other interactive reports such as the P&ID, isometry, or 3D model. 6 Operating Manual, 05/2016 V 10.2, A5E AA

7 Working with the "" plugin "" plugin The "" plugin is used to check pressure devices which require monitoring, such as pipes, apparatus, and vessels. The plugin covers the following: Scheduling Execution Evaluation of non-destructive material tests (NDT) You monitor pressure devices with the help of inspection plans (checkpoints, inspection object). You create inspection plans directly underneath the pressure device. You can use the plugin "diagramm" to see when critical limits are underrun. See chapter Working with the " diagram" plugin (Page 15). 8 Working with the "" plugin 2.3 Evaluating the conformity of a pressure device "" plugin (Page 7) Creating a single test using the "" plugin (Page 10) Tab of the "" plugin (Page 22) 2.3 Evaluating the conformity of a pressure device You use the conformity assessment to decide whether or how a pressure device is to be inspected. 1. Create a maintenance plan of the type "" underneath the object whose conformity you want to assess. 2. Open the properties of the maintenance plan. 3. Select the "Attributes" tab. 4. Select the "Conformity evaluation" tab at the subordinate level. 5. Select one of the following options: Enter the data of the object you want to evaluate. The fields "Nominal diameter (DN/NPS)", "Nominal pressure (PN/NP)", " object", " instruction", "Folder (ISV-Excel DGRL)", "Firing/Heating", "Steam/ hot water generation" and "Fluid group" have to be filled out for the conformity check. Link the required data, for example, using GetDisplayValue. Contact the responsible administrator for help. You can find additional information on this topic in the "Operations Administration" manual, keyword "Data" tab for inspection (Page 21)". 6. Enter the defined information. 7. Click the "Calculate" button. Result The conformity of the pressure device is calculated. The result is displayed graphically. The categories of the graphic display are defined according to which inspection object, which inspection instruction, and which inspection scope you have selected in the " schedule" tab. 9 Working with the "" plugin 2.5 Creating an individual check work package 2.4 Selecting a symbol You can use the symbol to define how many measurement loops and measurement points the pressure device inspection is to include. These are radiation checks and ultrasonic checks. Requirement At least one symbol is defined. You can find additional information on this topic in the "Operations Administration" manual, keyword "Definition of a symbol". On the tab " data" of the maintenance plan, the fields " measurement method" and "Function code" are filled out. 1. Open the properties of the required "" type maintenance plan. 2. Select the "Attributes > Non-destructive testing" tab. 3. Click the "Select a Symbol" button. For the configuration, valid symbols are shown in a selection dialog. 4. Select the required symbol. Result The required symbol is displayed. The number of measurement loops along with the corresponding measurement points is displayed in the "Measurement loops" table below the symbol link. You can change and expand these on the plan. You can only select symbols that have been evaluated as valid based on the settings on the " data" tab. "" plugin (Page 7) 2.5 Creating an individual check work package Requirement The option "Symbol object settings OK" is selected. 10 Working with the "" plugin 2.6 Creating a single test using the "" plugin 1. Right-click on the fully defined maintenance plan. 2. Select the "Maintenance > New work package > As defined on symbol" command from the context menu. Result The "Individual check" work package is created. One activity per measurement loop is created underneath the work package. A measurement series object is created underneath the activity. The measuring points are created automatically in the "Series of measurements" tab on the measurements series object. "" plugin (Page 7) Creating a single test using the "" plugin (Page 10) Performing an individual check (Page 11) 2.6 Creating a single test using the "" plugin Requirement To be able to create an individual check using the "" plugin, the "Attributes > Nondestructive testing" tab must be available in the properties of the maintenance plan. The option "Symbol object settings OK" is selected on the "Non-destructive testing" tab. The "Individual check possible" status is displayed in the "Overall result" control group. 1. Open the "" plugin. 2. Drag&drop the desired object, for example a pipe, into the "Start object(s)" field. The evaluation starts automatically. The "Filter" tab opens and is displayed underneath the Navigator by default. 3. Select the required search setting in the menu bar of the plugin to define the displayed objects. Select one of the following options: If you want to create the individual checks of a specific maintenance plan, select the relevant maintenance plan from the " object" list on the "Filter" tab. Click the "Generate single check" button in the menu bar of the plugin. If you want to create all individual checks that can be created, click the "Generate single check" in the menu bar of the plugin. 5. If you want to define details for the single check, click the "Creation with detail configuration" button in the menu bar of the plugin before you create the single test and enter the required information. Via the detail configuration, additional objects can be generated automatically under the individual check or filled with data. Result The individual check is created. Open the properties of a measurement series object that was created with the individual check. 2. Select the tab "Attribute > Series of measurements <object name>". 3. Enter the values from the measuring points. The status of the measurement series changes to "Measuring in progress". As soon as all measured values have been entered, the status of the measurement series changes to "Measuring finished". The activity is reported as finished. The desired values and threshold values of the measurement series are entered on the "Non-destructive testing" tab of the maintenance plan. 4. 12 Working with the "" plugin 2.8 Exporting data to Excel Result The evaluation of the individual check is entered automatically on the "Measured values assessment" tab of the individual check, based on the entered measured values. As data acquisition progresses, the status of the individual check on the "Workpackage" tab changes. The status of the maintenance plan is based on the status of the corresponding individual checks. The result of the individual check that is evaluated as the poorest and that is assigned to an inspection plan is entered on the "Non-destructive testing" tab of the maintenance plan. After the second completed individual check, the calculated critical date will be entered in the control group on the "Non-destructive testing" "Overall result" tab. The critical date indicates when the specified minimum value of the wall thickness is expected to be reached at a measuring point. The calculation is performed according to the selected assessment method. The corrosion rate is shown on the "Non-destructive testing" tab. The corrosion rate indicates the speed of deterioration. When the critical date is reached, COMOS calculates the corrosion rate automatically. See chapter Opening the "" plugin (Page 7). A maintenance plan, a workpackage, activity and a series of measurements are available. 1. Drag&drop an object from the Navigator into the "Start object(s)" field. 2. Click the "Data Import / Data Export" button. 3. Click on the "Excel Export" button. 4. Select the desired directory in the "Save As" window. 5. Enter a name for the Excel file. 6. Confirm your entries. 12 Operating Manual, 05/2016 V 10.2, A5E AA

13 Working with the "" plugin 2.9 Importing an Excel file Result The contents are exported to an Excel file. Each maintenance plan is shown on a worksheet in Excel. You can edit the file in column "J" and import it back to COMOS. See chapter Importing an Excel file (Page 13). 2.9 Importing an Excel file Requirement You have exported an Excel file. See chapter Exporting data to Excel (Page 12). The "" plugin is open. See chapter Opening the "" plugin (Page 7). 1. Click the "Data Import / Data Export" button. 2. Click on the "Select Excel import file" button. The "Access/Excel/XML reimport" window is displayed. 3. Select the desired Excel file as the data bank. 4. Select the worksheet from the list as a table. 5. Click "Search". The results are displayed. 6. Import the data. Result The selected Excel file is imported to COMOS. When a measurement series has invalid data, a message appears stating that the import was partially successful. 16 Working with the " diagram" plugin 3.2 " diagram" plugin User interface The user interface of the " diagram" plugin is divided into the following areas: Area Description 1 Here various buttons are displayed. See section Tab of the " diagram" plugin (Page 22). 2 The graphs are displayed here as configured. The following options are available in the context menu: 3 "Display subsidiary line" "Display the critical point" "Display values" "Display resulting lines" "Expand to intersection point" The measurement loops and measuring points are displayed here. You configure which measurement loops and measuring points a graph will be drawn for by activating or deactivating this option. 17 Working with the " diagram" plugin 3.3 Displaying measurement series data in the " diagram" plugin Area 4 5 Description Here you can configure the diagram. Each column of the diagram data is displayed as a row in the diagram configuration. Analysis information is displayed in the following columns: "Column name" "Column description" "Is numeric" "Is a date" "Is a level" The columns with options have a direct influence on the display of the graphs. In the "Display as" column, you select whether numerical or date values are applied to the X or Y axis and whether constants ("Is a level") are to be displayed as the threshold value line (min or max). Use the column "Color" to define the color of the graphics. The configuration set here is saved either when you close the plugin or prior to the evaluation of a different inspection maintenance plan. Open the " diagram" plugin. 2. Drag&drop the inspection maintenance plan underneath which the required measurement series objects are located to the top field of the plugin. Result The evaluation starts automatically. The measurement series data is displayed graphically. section " diagram" plugin (Page 15). From the menu bar of the plugin, you can reload the evaluation, redraw the diagram or display the content of the query on which the diagram is based in the form of a table. In the context menu of the inspection diagram, select the "Show legend" command. Result The legend is displayed. The legend explains the diagram and the colors you have configured for it. section " diagram" plugin (Page 15). 3.5 Exporting the inspection diagram 1. Click in the menu bar. 2. Select the directory in which you want to export the inspection diagram. 3. Perform a save to confirm your entry. 19 Compatibility with P&ID and Isometrics P&ID and Isometrics Reports labels can be displayed on the reports of P&ID and Isometrics. You can create measurements in connection with P&ID and Isometrics. You can create maintenance plans under P&ID and Isometrics objects using the "" context menu. In the project settings, you define which maintenance plan can be selected in the context menu. You can find additional information on this topic in the "Operations Administration" manual, keyword "Project options". You can place the newly created maintenance plan on a P&ID, for example. If you drag a maintenance plan to a report from Isometrics, it will be connected to a pipe. You can find more information on this topic in the "P&ID Operation" and "Isometrics" manuals. 21 User interface reference " plan" tab The "Conformity test" tab of the inspection type maintenance plan displays information regarding the conformity of the pressure device. In this list, you select the inspection regulation according to which the pressure device will be inspected. You select the scope of the inspection in percentage. "DGRL 97/23/EG -BetrSichV" control group Control element "Heater" list "Overheating risk" option "Steam/hot water creation" list "Fluid Group" list "Steam/vapours w. vapour pressure TS > 0.5 above atm" option Description in this list you select whether the pressure device is lit and/or heated. If this option is activated, this indicates that there is a risk of the pressure device overheating. You select an entry from this list to indicate whether the pressure device is used to create steam or hot water. You select the fluid group of the pressure device from this list. If this option is activated, it indicates that the pressure device contains gases or liquids with vapor pressure TS > 0.5 above atm.
