A successful record save message should appear. CS/WebPublisher PRO must successfully do the above before you try to install the Genie application. If you are upgrading, back up your top-level Genie installation folder before you upgrade to the new version. Sites with Genie 2.00 should back up the top-level Genie installation folder before upgrading to version If you are upgrading, back up your existing textbases. As a precaution, we recommend you do a complete backup of all your Genie textbases before upgrading to Genie For instructions on how to back up your textbases, see the Inmagic Content Server Administrator s Guide. Exit all Windows applications. Exit all Windows applications before installing the Genie application. Administrator access. Log in as Local Administrator or a domain user with local administrator privileges before you start the installation process. If you are not logged in as an Administrator, Setup detects it and a dialog box opens so that you can switch accounts (to an Administrator). The installation cannot continue if you are not logged in as an Administrator or you do not have Administrator privileges on the local machine. Know the answers to or be aware of the following items before you begin Validation override preference for Browse lists. You need to know your organization s validation override preference for the Genie application because you set this during the installation process (step 11 on page 11). Consult with your library administrator. Sample textbases. You need to know if you have to install the Genie sample textbases. The library staff may want to use the sample textbases to help familiarize themselves with the application. Consult with your library administrator. Serial number. 5 SQL Server location and name of the instance of SQL Server for Content Server. You should know the location of your SQL Server instance used with the Content Server product and the name of that instance of SQL Server. If you are upgrading, your previous Web.CONFIG file will be automatically replaced during the installation process. Setup for Genie version 2.10 will install a new Web.CONFIG file. Setup will rename your old file to Web.CONFIG#. After you complete the installation process for version 2.10, you can copy your customizations from the Web.CONFIG# (for example, Web.CONFIG2 if you already have a Web.CONFIG1 file) to the new Web.CONFIG file. For more information about this procedure, see Upgrading to Genie 2.10 on page 34. MARC Transformer for Inmagic Content Server bundled with the Genie product. If your library receives cataloging data in MARC communications format, and if you have not already done so, you may want to install the MARC Transformer, which is bundled with the Genie product. The transformer product comes with its own installation CD-ROM and installation instructions if you receive the Genie product on CD. If you receive the Genie product via download, you must call Inmagic Customer Service and request the CD for the MARC Transformer product. The transformer helps you load MARC data into your Genie textbases. The transformer also helps you provide your textbase data to others in MARC communications format. 7 To install Inmagic Genie 1. Be sure you have read Before You Begin on page On the Web server where you have CS/WebPublisher PRO installed, log in with Administrator privileges (for example, Local Administrator or a domain user with local administrator privileges). 3. Because the application is a Web-based application, stop IIS (the World Wide Web Publishing Service). For example, you can do this by using the Services option through the Windows Computer Management window. Stopping IIS ensures that installation and configuration of the application are not interrupted. 4. Depending on your situation, do the following: If you are installing from the Inmagic Genie Setup CD-ROM, insert it in the drive of the Web server machine where you have CS/WebPublisher PRO installed. Setup should automatically start. If it does not, open Windows Explorer and from the installation CD-ROM, double-click Setup.EXE. If you are installing from an electronic download, after you download the Genie ZIP file, unzip it to a temporary folder on the Web server machine where you have CS/WebPublisher PRO installed. Then, from within that folder, double-click Setup.EXE to launch the program to install the Genie application. Note that the Setup program will not proceed if any one of these is true: Microsoft.NET Framework Version 1.1 is not already installed. You must have Microsoft.NET Framework Version 1.1 installed before you run the Genie Setup program. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later is not already installed. You must have Internet Explorer 6.0 or later installed before you run the Genie Setup program. 5. On the Welcome dialog box, click Next. 6. On the License Agreement dialog box, read the license agreement, and then respond appropriately. 7. On the Customer Information dialog box, enter your name, your company name, the Genie serial number, then click Next. Note for upgrade installations: Your Genie serial number should be filled in automatically. 8. On the Select Features dialog box, select or clear the check boxes, as appropriate, then click Next. Notice that certain check boxes are selected by default depending on whether this is a new or an upgrade installation. Program Files. Installs the Genie program files. Textbases. Provides the files needed to install the empty textbase files ready to accept your data. You will have to install the textbases on the SQL Server before you can use them. After the Genie installation is complete, see To install the Genie Textbases on the SQL Server on page 16. Note for upgrade installations: This check box is not selected by default and you should not select this check box if you are installing version 2.10 on the same machine with a previously installed version of the Genie application and have working textbases from that version. After completing this set of instructions, see Upgrading to Genie 2.10 on page 34. Sample Textbases. Provides the files needed to install the sample textbases supplied with the application. If selected, you will also have to install the textbases on the SQL Server before you can use them. Setup will install the program files for Genie 2.10 in the same folder as the previously installed version. Figure 4: Choose Destination Location for Program Files dialog box Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3 Page 9

10. On the Choose Destination Location for Textbase Files dialog box, accept the default location (C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases) or click the Browse button to change it. This is where Setup will install the Genie textbase files. You can install the textbases anywhere there is network access to them. Note that Setup will edit the CS/WebPublisher PRO ICSWeb.INI file to point CS/WebPublisher PRO to this location for the Genie textbases. Note for new installations: Setup will not install into a folder that already contains textbase names that are the same as the names of the Genie textbases. Genie textbases must be placed into a different folder instead. Note for upgrade installations: You will not see this dialog box if you are upgrading to version 2.10 on a machine that has a previously installed version of the Genie application and you chose not to install the textbases (step 8 on page 7). Figure 5: Choose Destination Location for Textbase Files dialog box Page 10 Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3

11. On the Validation Overrides dialog box, specify whether the Genie application should accept or reject validation overrides, then click Next. Yes, accept overrides and update lists. Select this option button to instruct the Genie application to accept overrides and update the corresponding validation list. This is the recommended choice. Figure 6: Validation Overrides dialog box If you later decide that you want to switch validation methods, see Inmagic Knowledgebase Article On the Ready to Install the Program dialog box, click the Install button to start the installation. Wait while Setup installs the files. Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3 Page 11

13. If you are upgrading, skip this step. Otherwise, on the Specify Virtual Directory Settings dialog box, specify the settings you want to use with your InmagicGenie virtual directory, then click Next. Available Web Servers. Specify the Web site on which you want to create the virtual directory for the Genie application, which will be called InmagicGenie. This should be the same Web site on which the ICS-WPD virtual directory was created for CS/WebPublisher PRO. Note that if ICS-WPD is not there, Setup will create it. IIS Authentication. Select the authentication method you want to use with the Genie application. For example, you can select Anonymous Access with or without SSL. Figure 7 shows the Specify Virtual Directory Settings dialog box for customer sites that use Windows Authentication with Content Server. Note that Anonymous Access must also be set on your ICS-WPD virtual directory for this dialog box to appear. 14 14. During installation, Setup edits the ICSWeb.INI file to point CS/WebPublisher PRO to the location where the Genie textbases reside (the textbase path you chose in step 10 on page 10). For example, if you accepted the default location, Setup updates the.ini file to point to C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases. Note that if Setup determines that textbases with these names already are listed in the ICSWeb.INI file, Setup will not write those Genie textbase names to this file. If this is the case, a message box will appear with the duplicate textbase names listed. Note these textbase names. You will have to manually modify the.ini file to indicate the path to the textbases that the Genie application will be using. All the Genie textbases must be listed in the ICSWeb.INI file for the application to be able to function properly. Click OK to dismiss the message box. To manually edit the ICSWeb.INI file later, see the Genie README file. Note for upgrade installations: Setup will not write to the ICSWeb.INI file if you are installing version 2.10 on a machine with a previously installed version of the Genie application. The correct textbase locations are already specified, so you do not need to note the textbase names or edit the ICSWeb.INI file. You will see the following message box: Figure 9: Message box 15. The following message may appear, depending on your situation: If this is a new installation: A message appears to confirm the creation of the InmagicGenie virtual directory. This virtual directory was created using the authentication method you selected in the previous step. If you want to change this later, you can use the Internet Services Manager to do so. Click OK to dismiss the message box. (This message does not appear in the situation where you install version 2.10 on a machine with a previously installed version of the Genie application.) If this is an upgrade installation: A message appears to tell you that Setup has renamed your previous copy of the Web.CONFIG file before it installed a newer version of this file for version If you added any customized settings to this file in your previous version of the Genie application, after you have completed the installation process for version 2.10, you should open the Web.CONFIG# file and copy any modifications to the newer Web.CONFIG file. The message tells you where the renamed file is located and its renamed file name (such as C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Web.CONFIG0). Note this location information, if needed. Click OK to dismiss the message box. 16. On the Installation Almost Complete dialog box, select or clear the View the README check box, as appropriate, then click Next. 17. If you selected the View the README check box, read or print the file, then close it to continue with the installation. Page 14 Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3

18. On the InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box, we recommend that you check for the latest service packs. Click Finish. Figure 10: InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box with Check for Service Packs check box 19. If Setup determines that you have to reboot your computer, the InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box provides you with an option to restart your computer when you click the Finish button, as shown in the following illustration. You must reboot your computer before you continue with the upgrade process or use the application. Figure 11: InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box with restart option Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3 Page 15

20. Restart IIS (the World Wide Web Publishing Service). For example, you can do this by using the Services option through the Windows Computer Management window. (You stopped this service in step 3.) Note that if you rebooted your machine due to the previous step, the service will have been restarted for you. 21. Depending on your situation: If this is a new installation, you must install each Genie textbase to the SQL Server using the Content Server Administration program. See To install the Genie Textbases on the SQL Server below. If this is an upgrade installation, go to Upgrading to Genie 2.10 on page 34 if you are installing version 2.10 on a machine with a previously installed version of the application and you chose not to install the textbases in step 8. To install the Genie Textbases on the SQL Server If you are upgrading and you are installing version 2.10 on a machine with a previously installed version of the application and you chose not to install the textbases in step 8 of the installation instructions, go to Upgrading to Genie 2.10 on page 34. During the installation process, one or more backup file sets for the Genie textbases were copied into subfolders under your Genie installation folder. Note that these instructions assume you accepted the default locations when you installed the application. Textbase_Backup_File_Set. The files in this subfolder contain no records (except in the GENIEKEY and SUPPLIER textbases) so that you can load your own records into them. The default path is C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases\Textbase_Backup_File_Set. The files in this subfolder must be restored to the Textbases subfolder (default is C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases). This subfolder contains supporting files needed by the main textbases. Sample_Backup_File_Set. The files in this subfolder are the same as in the Textbase_Backup_File_Set subfolder mentioned above except that they are populated with sample data so that you can use them to familiarize yourself with the application. The default path is C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases\Sample\ Sample_Backup_File_Set. The files in this subfolder must be restored to the Sample subfolder (default is C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases\Sample). This subfolder was created during the installation process when you selected the Sample Textbases check box in step 8. It contains supporting files needed by the files restored from the Sample_Backup_File_Set subfolder. Before you can use any of the Genie textbases, you must install them on your SQL Server. The following instructions are for use with Content Server version 1.3 or later. Steps that are different for different versions of Content Server are so marked. Tip! If your SQL Server data is located on a machine other than the one on which CS/TextWorks is installed, you can either make the Textbase_Backup_File_Set and Sample_Backup_File_Set subfolders shared before installing the respective textbases, or you can access these files from the Textbases folder located on the top level of the installation CD-ROM/download. 1. Log in with Administrator privileges (for example, Local Administrator) and start the Content Server Administration program (InmCSAdmin.EXE) on the Web server machine where CS/WebPublisher PRO was installed. InmCSAdmin.EXE is located in its Exec subfolder (for example, C:\Program Files\Inmagic\ICSWEB\Exec). Be sure to use this version of the Content Server Administration program, so that step 8 occurs as documented in this set of instructions. 2. If the User File Path dialog box opens (only appears the very first time you run the software on that machine), specify where you want to create user files and temporary files, then click OK. You can accept the suggested path or specify a different one. You need full rights to whichever folder you specify. 3. Choose Back Up & Restore>Restore Textbase(s) to open the Restore Textbase Options dialog box. Page 16 Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3

4. In the Backup set box, use the Browse button to enter the path to a backup file set from either the Textbase_Backup_File_Set subfolder or the Sample_Backup_File_Set subfolder. Important! If your SQL Server instance is located on a machine other than the one on which Content Server is installed, you must also do the following: Use the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) file path to the backup file set using the format \\Server\Share\Backups (for example, \\<server name>\vol1\textbases\ Textbase_Backup_File_Set\Borrower.CBA). Use specific login parameters for the SQL Server service. The account must be a domain user on the domain server (but does not need to be a member of any domain Admin group). This account should be a part of the local Admin group on the SQL Server machine. (To do this, right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop and select Manage. Expand the Services and Applications tree, then double-click Services. Right-click your instance of SQL Server for the Genie application, and select Properties. Select the Log On tab and then specify the account.) a. Click the Browse button and navigate to the applicable Backup_File_Set subfolder (for example, C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases\Textbase_Backup_File_Set or C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases\Sample\Sample_Backup_File_Set). b. Select a textbase (for example, Borrower.CBA), then click Open. If you are running Content Server v9.00 or later, you can select more than one textbase at this point. We recommend that you select all of them. 5. In the Restore path box, click the Browse button and navigate to the appropriate folder: If you are restoring from the Textbase_Backup_File_Set subfolder, restore to the Textbases subfolder of the Genie installation folder (for example, C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases). If you are restoring from the Sample_Backup_File_Set subfolder, restore to the Sample subfolder (for example, C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases\Sample). Be sure you restore the sample textbases into the Sample subfolder. If you restored the textbases in Textbase_Backup_File_Set into the Textbases subfolder first, you must change the path in the Restore path box to the Sample subfolder. Important! If you decide to use the sample textbases, you must manually change the ICSWeb.INI file to point to them in the Sample subfolder. See the third bullet in To wrap up the installation process on page 33. You cannot point to the real and sample textbases in the ICSWeb.INI file at the same time; only one set of Genie textbases can be specified in the INI file. Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3 Page 17

6. If you are running Content Server v1.30, select the Typical restore option button. (Content Server version 9.0 does not have this option available; it does the right kind of restoration automatically.) Figure 12: Restore Textbase Options dialog box for Content Server v Click OK. 8. Wait for the restore function to complete, then click OK to dismiss the completion message. 9. If you are running Content Server v1.30, repeat steps 4 7 for each textbase in the Textbase_Backup_File_Set subfolder or Sample_Backup_File_Set subfolder, then close the Content Server Administration program. 10. After all the textbases have been restored, do the following, depending on your situation: If you are using Content Server Standard with Windows Authentication, you must set security settings for the textbases you just restored. See Setting Up Security on page 19. If you are using Content Server Workgroup, or you are using Content Server Standard with SQL Authentication, you do not have to set security settings. Continue with To set Windows permissions for Genie users on the Textbases subfolder on page 25. Page 18 Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3

Setting Up Security Note for upgrade installations: If you are installing version 2.10 on the same machine with a previously installed version of the Genie application and you chose not to install the textbases in step 8 of the installation instructions (on page 6), you can skip this whole section. Security must be set up for the following before anyone can access the Genie application. If you are using Windows Authentication, you must do both items. If you are using SQL Authentication, you only have to do item 2. The following instructions are for use with Content Server version 1.3 or later. Differences between the steps for Content Server version 1.3 and.content Server version 9.0 or later are noted. 1. If you are using Content Server with Windows Authentication, you must specify security settings for the following. SQL Server on which your Genie application resides. See To set security settings for the SQL Server for the Genie application below. Genie textbases. You must specify security settings for all the Genie textbases in the installation folder. You must do this for the empty Genie textbases in the folder in which you installed the Genie textbases. If you plan to use the textbases in the Sample subfolder, then you would have to do this for those textbases too. See To set security settings for the Genie textbases on page 22. These security settings assign your users/groups (specifically, their domain accounts with logins on the SQL Server) membership to roles granting varying degrees of access to the textbases on the SQL Server. 2. Windows folders containing the textbases. You must set specific Windows permissions to the Textbases subfolder to allow users to search and/or modify your textbases. Do this for the Sample subfolder also, if necessary. See To set Windows permissions for Genie users on the Textbases subfolder on page 25. To set security settings for the SQL Server for the Genie application 1. Start the Content Server Administration program (InmCSAdmin.EXE). If you are on the Web server machine where CS/WebPublisher PRO was installed, this file is located in its Exec subfolder (for example, C:\Program Files\Inmagic\ICSWEB\Exec). 2. If you are using Content Server version 1.3, choose Manage Security>Set Security on SQL Server to open the Select SQL Instance dialog box. Type the name of the instance for the Genie application, then click OK. Repeat steps 3 7 for each textbase in the Sample subfolder, if necessary. 10. When done, close the Select Inmagic Content Server Textbase dialog box and close the Content Server Administration program. 11. You must set specific Windows permissions on the Textbases subfolder to allow users to search and/or modify over the Web. Do this for the Sample subfolder and other subfolders also, if necessary. See the next section. Page 24 Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3

Note that the instructions and illustrations in this section are for a Windows 2003 machine. 1. Right-click the Textbases subfolder (for example: C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases) or wherever you installed the Genie textbases and click Properties from the shortcut menu to open the corresponding Properties dialog box. 2. On the Security tab, in the Group or User Names list, if you are using Basic Authentication, select a domain user/group account that will be using the Genie application. If you are using Anonymous Access or Integrated Windows Authentication, select the account used for Anonymous Access for the ICS-WPD virtual directory. If the account you want is not there, click the Add button and do the following; otherwise continue with step 3. Figure 19: Textbases Properties dialog box a. Read allows only searching. Full Control allows searching, editing, adding, and/or deleting records. Figure 22: Textbases Properties dialog box with IUSR example 4. Do the following, depending on your situation: If you are using Basic Authentication and you have other domain user/group accounts that you want to be able to access the Genie application, click Apply, then repeat steps 2 3. When you are done, click OK. If you are using Anonymous Access or Integrated Windows Authentication on the InmagicGenie virtual directory, click OK. You do not have to set additional permissions because all users access the textbases through the account used for Anonymous Access for the ICS-WPD virtual directory. 5. Repeat steps 1 4 for the Genie Sample textbases folder, if necessary. 6. If you plan to use the Genie upload document and image files features, you must also set Windows permissions for Genie users on the DocumentFolder, ImageFolder, and ImportFolder subfolders; go to page 28. Otherwise, to test the access to the Genie application, go to page 31. Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3 Page 27

To set Windows permissions for Genie users on the DocumentFolder, ImageFolder, and ImportFolder subfolders Do this for all authentication situations for the subfolders for the Genie upload document and image files features: DocumentFolder, ImageFolder, and ImportFolder. 1. Right-click the applicable subfolder (for example: C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\DocumentFolder) and click Properties from the shortcut menu to open the corresponding Properties dialog box. 2. On the Security tab, in the Group or User Names list, click the Add button and do the following:. a. We recommend you select the Modify, Read, and Write check boxes if they are not already selected. Modify allows editing. Read allows only searching. Write allows writing to that folder. 4. Click OK. 5. Repeat steps 1 4 for the Genie ImageFolder and ImportFolder subfolders. 6. To test the access to the Genie application, see the next section. Page 30 Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3

Testing and Wrapping Up New Installations This section shows you how to make sure your Genie application is accessible. In addition, it tells you how to change the default content page. It also suggests how to wrap up the installation. To test access to the Genie application After you have completed the installation of the Genie application, perform the following test to make sure the application is accessible. If any of these steps fails, then there may be a problem with the installation. If an error message appears anywhere during this test, check the Inmagic knowledgebase. You can access the knowledgebase through the Inmagic Customer Extranet at Make a note of the exact text of the message or print the page in case you need to contact Inmagic Technical Support. 1. Open your Web browser and point to Fill in the name of your Web server where the Genie application resides. The InmagicGenie virtual directory was created when you installed the application. 2. Log in by typing a username and password combination of admin / admin. The password is case-sensitive. This is the highest-level default username/password combination. We strongly recommend that you change the password at your earliest convenience. To learn about the other default username/password combinations, how to change passwords, and other security features, see the Inmagic Genie Security Notes. 3. Choose Suppliers>Search Suppliers. 4. On the Supplier Search page, type an asterisk (*) in the Company Name box, then click the Submit Query button. 5. On the Search Results page, click the Edit link for any Supplier record. Supplier information should appear for the record (for example, there is a company name, address, and Web site URL). Note that not all boxes for the record may be filled in, but some information should appear for the record. 6. On the Edit Supplier Record page do not make any changes to the record click the Save button. Verify that Record updated successfully. appears in the messages area of the page. 7. If you successfully completed all the steps in this test, see To wrap up the installation process on page 33. Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3 Page 31

To change the default content page Out of the box, after you log in, the Genie application opens the Catalog Search page (catalog_search.aspx). You can change this if you want. 1. Go to IIS, right-click the InmagicGenie virtual directory, and select Properties to open the InmagicGenie Properties dialog box. 2. Select the Documents tab. 3. Remove the catalog_search.aspx entry. Figure 24: Inmagic Genie Properties dialog box with Documents tab 4. Add the.aspx file you want as your default page. For example, if you check out loans frequently, you may want to default to the Check Items Out page; add the loans_checkout.aspx file. For the names of the.aspx pages, see the root of your Genie installation folder. The pages are easily identifiable by their file names, which generally follow the format of textbase name_function.aspx. Page 32 Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3

To wrap up the installation process After successfully testing access to the Genie application, wrap up the installation process by telling your library administrator: Where you installed the Genie application and its textbases. The library administrator will need to know this to be able to access the Genie README file, which is also available from the Inmagic Customer Extranet. To read the README file. This file, located in the Documentation subfolder of the main Genie installation folder, provides information that the library administrator will need to know, including how to set up the application with the library data for your organization and how to access the application. If necessary, to edit the ICSWeb.INI file to point CS/WebPublisher PRO to the appropriate set of Genie textbases. The library administrator will have to edit the ICSWeb.INI file if she or he decides to use the set of Genie textbases other than what was chosen during the installation of the product (see step 10 on page 10). For example, the library administrator may later decide to point to the sample textbases for training purposes. To do this, you have to edit the ICSWeb.INI file. For more information, see the Genie README file. You cannot point to the real and sample textbases in the ICSWeb.INI file at the same time; only one set of Genie textbases can be specified in the INI file. The library administrator may have to work with the Web server administrator to update the.ini file. Note for upgrade installations: If you installed version 2.10 on the same machine with a previously installed version of the Genie application and you chose not to install the textbases in step 8 of the installation instructions (see page 6), you can skip this item. The username/password combination of admin/admin that gives the highest-level access to the application. To be able to log in to the Genie application, the library administrator needs to know this username/password combination. We strongly recommend that you change the password at your earliest convenience. To learn about the other default username/password combinations, how to change passwords, and other security features, see the Inmagic Genie Security Notes. For example, to take advantage of Windows Authentication enabling the login bypass feature, you need to add user login names to the Genie application. About Other Installations When displaying labels or a report designed for printing for the first time, the end user will be prompted to install the ScriptX software that provides the Genie application with more control over printing (this software, for example, adjusts margins correctly depending on what you are printing, it suppresses the Web browser s headers and footers, and it allows for specifying page breaks for long reports). This message will appear the first time this software is needed on a workstation. Once the software is installed, the end user will not encounter the message again on that workstation. To install the ScriptX software, click the Install (or Yes) button that appears on the message box. Once the labels or report appear on a page, the end user can use the print mechanism for the Web browser to print the page (for example, choose File>Print). Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3 Page 33

Upgrading to Genie 2.10 The section tells you how to upgrade to Genie version 2.10 from Genie version Before you follow this upgrade procedure, you must install Genie version 2.10 as instructed at the beginning of this document. The installation program replaces existing Genie application files (such as ASPX pages,.dll files, and so forth), but it does not replace your existing textbases and My*.CONFIG files. These instructions explain how to add new features in this release to your existing Genie textbases and your My*.CONFIG files. To upgrade your Genie textbases and other files 1. As a precaution, back up your current (version 2.00) Genie textbases. Do this only if you did not do this when we recommended that you do so before you installed Genie version Stop IIS. Because the application is a Web-based application, stop IIS (the World Wide Web Publishing Service). For example, you can do this by using the Services option through the Windows Computer Management window. Stopping IIS ensures that this upgrade procedure is not interrupted. 3. Change your LOANS textbase structure. Genie 2.10 includes a new feature for batch loan renewal. These textbase changes permit updating the loan due date when renewing a loan and tracking loan renewal dates. The following steps will change the field type for the LoanDateDue from Computed Date to Date. They will also remove the validation list for the LoanTerm field and add a new field named LoanDateRenewed. a. Launch CS/TextWorks. From the Windows Start menu, choose Programs>Inmagic Applications>Content Server>CSTextWorks. b. Open the LOANS textbase. Choose File>Open and navigate to where your Genie textbases reside (for example, C:\Program Files\Inmagic\Genie\Textbases). c. Open the Edit Textbase Structure dialog box. Choose Maintain>Edit Textbase Structure and click the Edit Fields button. d. Select the LoanDateDue field and from the Field Type drop-down list on the Type and Indexing tab, select Date. e. Select the Validation tab and select the Single Entry Only check box. f. Click the Change button. g. Select the LoanTerm field. h. Select the Validation tab and click the No Content Validation option button. Click Yes to confirm the change request. i. Click the Change button. j. In the Field Name box on the top left of the dialog box, type LoanDateRenewed and click the Add button. k. On the Type and Indexing tab, from the Field Type drop-down list, select Date. Click the Change button. l. Click the Close button, then click OK twice. Page 34 Inmagic Genie 2.10 Installation Notes for New and Upgrade Installations Revision 3
