Content dministrtors will lso use this ontent to rete new digitl signs nd deploy them to plyers (i.e. flt sreen TVs) in their lotions. 1. Enle Remote Desktop Connetion Estlish remote onnetion to the server:. Clik Strt nd then All Progrms. Under Aessories, selet Remote Desktop Connetion. Enter sign.pitt.edu in the Computer field d. Clik Connet *Contt the Tehnology Help Desk t HELP [4357] if unle to estlish onnetion. 2. Server Login One your remote onnetion to sign.pitt.edu is enled, log in using your University Computing Aount usernme nd pssword:. Enter your usernme s Pitt\usernme. Enter your pssword. To lunh Content Mnger, doule-lik Content Mnger on the remote desktop 4. Import Content to Your Folder Content must e dded to your Content Mnger Folder efore you n deploy it to signge plyer. d e Copy the file to \\digitlsign01\ontent\xxxx, where xxxx is the nme of your lotion. It my e helpful to mp drive to the lotion \\digitlsign01.ssd.pitt.edu\ontent for quik ess. Right-lik your Content folder nd hoose the New Content in this Ctegory nd then speify the type of ontent tht you wish to dd. Complete the fields in red, using Clik OK Clik File nd then Sve to speify the file lotion or URL Note: All ontent is dded this wy, though the ontent properties vry sed on ontent type. 5. Selet from horizontl or vertil orienttions. Clik Templtes t the ottom left of the Content Mnger sreen Lote templte tht losely mthes the design lyout you wish to disply C Clik nd drg templte to the new plyer Note: More thn one templte n e dded to plyer. In your ontent folder elow lote the ontent you wish to dd to the templte. One dded to templte region, ontent plys ll dy, every dy. Where multiple ontent exists in region, plyers disply them in the order they re dded, unless n interruption is sheduled. Refer to Sheduling lter in this guide for detils. d Clik the Content t t the ottom left of the Content window Clik + next to your ontent folder to disply the ontent items Selet the ontent item tht you wish to shedule Drg nd drop the ontent onto the pproprite region of the templte for tht plyer e Clik File nd then Sve 8. Preview Your Sign One you re stisfied with the ontent, lik window to preview how the sign will ply. t the top right of the Network Overview To stop the preview, lik. Content Adjustments To djust when nd how often ontent plys on your sign, edit the reurrenes or shedule n interruption. To edit ll other properties, edit the soure ontent file in Content Mnger. Content Sheduling By defult, your ontent displys s soon s you deploy it to the sign, then ll dy, every dy in rottion with the other ontent moving forwrd. To disply this ontent item only on ertin dys or times: Right-lik the ontent item nd selet Existing Reurrenes Adjust the disply dte nd time, then lik OK Clik File nd then Sve Content Properties Eh ontent item hs speifi set of properties tht n e djusted so tht it plys optimlly on your new plyer. Content property djustments re glol, mening they will hnge every instne of how the ontent is deployed to ll of your plyers. Right-lik the ontent item nd selet Edit Soure Content Clik eh t for Generl, Advned, nd Resoures nd Input properties, then lik OK Clik File, nd then Sve Deploy When you re stisfied tht your ontent is optimized, deploy it to the sign plyer. If you re not redy to disply the ontent on your sign you n simply lik the File drop-down menu nd hoose Sve. Your hnges will e sved, ut not refleted on the sign. End your remote onnetion using the stndrd Windows Log Off proedure from the sign.pitt.edu server.
