1 Getting Started Create Your First Notebook When you first open GoodNotes, you will be presented with an empty bookshelf. The bookshelf screen lets you manage your notebooks visually. 1. Tap the + button on the toolbar. 2. Tap the Create Notebook button inside the popup window. 3. Tap on the newly created notebook's thumbnail to open the notebook.

6 Zoom Window GoodNotes provides the zoom window to assist you to write in small size with your fingers or with capacitive styluses. Automatic Palm Rejection It works by guessing which touch is the writing touch on the screen and ignores all other touches. It will be able to remove most unwanted marks from the palm to appear on a page. For best results, do not rest your palm on a page when you are not writing; only rest your palm on a page when you write. Configuration The auto-palm rejection works for both left hands and right hands, and even let you specify how you hold your pen for best results. Tap the... button on a toolbar. Tap Settings. Tap Palm Rejection. Tap Configuration. Rotate the hand picture with one finger to the angle of your writing posture.

Palm Rest The palm rest lets you rest your palm on the lower part of the screen without making any changes. It is disabled by default; please enable it from the Settings window if you want to use it.

Import and Export GoodNotes lets you import and export multiple documents at once if they are in the same folder, and also lets you export only selected pages of a notebook. The supported cloud storages currently are box, Dropbox, and SkyDrive.

13 itunes File Sharing Instructions below show how you can transfer files between your computer and the itunes File Sharing folder of GoodNotes. If you want to import documents into GoodNotes with a USB cable, you need to put them into the file sharing folder first. Connect your ipad with your computer using a USB cable and open itunes. Select your ipad on the left panel. Select Apps at the top. Scroll down to the File Sharing section. Select GoodNotes on the left. Drag and drop files between your computer and the GoodNotes Documents panel. To import transferred files, please follow the above instructions. (Choose itunes and select the transferred files.)
