2 Tools Overview Parcel Search Tool: Clicking on this button will open the parcel search tool. This tool is explained in more depth further down this document. Map Contents: Clicking on this button will open a Legend and Layer control window. This is where to turn layers on and off, as well as view their symbology; users can also set transparency on layers such as soils when viewed over photos. Entire like sets of data such as PLSS can be turned on, or individual layers within each data set. Bookmarks: Clicking on this button will drop down a list of stored book marks. Users can create and store additional bookmarks. Measure and Draw: Clicking on this button will open a tool used to draw shapes or graphics and measure distance and area. Google Street View: Clicking on this button will open Google Street View. It lets you explore places through 360-degree, panoramic, and street-level imagery. Image availability is not controlled by Waushara County. Print: Clicking on this button will open a map printing tool enabling the user to print multiple templates in either 8.5 x11 or 11 x 17. Metadata: Clicking on this button will drop down a list of available metadata documents. Links: Clicking on this button will drop down a list of important links. Site Help: Clicking on this button will drop down an option to open a PDF document containing information on how to use the website.

3 Parcel Search Tool Select by typing in a search This is the default tool used to search parcel data Selecting the Parcel Search tool will pop up a window that will start by asking the user to enter a parcel number. If the user would like to search by all or part of the number they simply need to type it in. If they would like to search by other means they can change the search type by clicking the pull-down menu Search Layer Field: and selecting search by Owner Name or by Site Address. Again, only partial entries are needed to find the results. Parcel Search Tools Select Parcel from map If the user would like to select a parcel once zoomed in they can choose to select them graphically using any of the tools outlined above. More explicit usage can be found by moving the mouse over each tool.

4 Results and Hyperlinks Once a parcel is selected a results window will appear containing all the selections, clicking on one of the results will open a second window and will zoom to the selected parcel. Clicking on the Document icon will open a new webpage into the County Tax System Clicking on the hyperlink in the second window will also open a new webpage into the County Tax System There is an expanded set of results shown at the bottom of the page that display address information.

5 Parcel Search Tools Results Table The results table displays the selected parcel records from the mapping and their data from the GCS tax system. Notice in the above screen shot the document icon denoting a hyperlink to the GCS Tax Portal. Selecting this will open a new webpage into the GCS Tax Management Software for the selected record.

6 Image Layers and Transition Tool Clicking on the Basemap tab will open a drop down list where the user can select and change to multiple Basemaps such as different years of photography, and a blank basemap for printing with no image or backdrop. Notice the slider bar across the bottom. Sliding this bar will transition a percentage view between photos that lie next to each other. There is also the ability to click and drag photos around to put them next to each other to compare various years. Notice in the following example that the photos have been drug into new position to compare 2010 photos next to 2000 photos with a 50% transition between the two. This is a very useful tool for looking at change over time.

7 Pan Zoom Controls The pan zoom controls follow an industry standard and feel used by Google and Bing maps. Full Extent Zoom In Multi-Directional Pan Current Zoom Scale Previous/Next Extent Zoom Out Pan On Map Zoom In and Zoom Out Tools
