7 Description of the terminal e k w q l h j r t y u i o a s d f g q Handset a w Speaker s e Message indicator light: it flashes to indicate an incoming call, a correspondent on hold, or a waiting message. d Goodbye key: Ends an active call. The Goodbye key also exits an open list (such as Call History) and menus (such as the Static Settings menu) without saving changes. Redial key: Displays a list of your previously outgoing dialed calls. Hold key : Places an active call on hold. To retrieve a held call, press the applicable Line key - 1 -

Voic key: Provides access to your voic service (if configured). Options key: Provides services and static settings that allow you to customize your phone. Volume controls: Adjusts the volume for the ringer, handset, headset, and speakerphone. f g h j k Mute key: Mutes the microphone so that your caller cannot hear you (the LED beside the key turns on when the microphone is on mute). Speaker/Headset key: Transfers the active call to the speaker or headset, allowing handsfree use of the phone. Navigation keys and select button: See below Bottom softkeys Top softkeys o Dialpad l LCD screen Description of the others keys Keys Description Navigation keys and select button: Multi-directional navigation keys that allow you to navigate through the phone s User Interface (UI). Pressing the center Select button sets options as well as performs actions such as dialing out from the Contacts or Call History. On the Home screen, the left and right navigation keys can be used to switch between the home screen, the line manager, and active calls. Bottom softkeys: 4 system keys Pre-programmed non-editable keys 2

9 Keys Description Top softkeys: Six programmable, multi-function that allow you to use up to 20 specific functions. The Menu/Ident key This key gives access to the functions offered by the operating system. They differ according to the terminal status. Terminal idle: see the summary in Configuration options, page 40. Terminal busy: whether the terminal is busy, waiting for an answer or the correspondent is already on line, pressing the Menu key displays the available functions. Note: if the Menu key is not proposed, some of its functions may be deployed in a different manner, using feature codes. These functions will then be described in two ways, via the Menu/Ident key and feature code

10 Alphanumeric keypad The alphanumeric keypad is used to fill in the name and number columns in the private directory and information directory. The input is based on key correspondence with letters or signs. When a text input is proposed: Select the character you want by pressing the corresponding key successively. Example : Pressing the key 2 once displays the letter A. Pressing the key 2 twice displays the letter B. Pressing the key 2 three times displays the letter C. Pressing the key 2 four times displays the figure 2. You can enter punctuation characters by pressing the 1 key successively. You can enter a space by pressing twice the * key. To enter a letter located on another key: Press another key immediately to enter the next letter based on the same principle. To enter another letter located on the same key: Wait (3 seconds) for the cursor to blink at the next position. To replace an input: 1 - Place the cursor possibly, using the or key, after the letter to be deleted. 1 - Press the Delete system key. 2 - Enter the new character. 4

11 The screen The screen comprises 3 information lines depending of the context. The keys of the browser allow to navigate through the menus. In idle mode, the screen indicates: the default line and the terminal ID, A message line: if several messages concern the terminal status, each message is displayed alternatively. You can display the different messages using the up and down browser keys. These messages indicate: that immediate call forwarding is active unanswered incoming calls since the log was last displayed that fallback mode is active (backup) that Do Not Disturb function is active a parked call a password renewal request * a password expiration notification *. The date and time. During a call, the screen indicates: the line used and the correspondent s name and/or number, a symbol showing the call status, if applicable, the audio quality level indicator and/or a small padlock, meaning that the call is encrypted, the time that has passed since the call was started. * According to the password policy programmed by the system operator - 5 -

12 Call modes Your telephone proposes various call modes suited to your activities. These features complete the standard handset mode (or discreet mode): lifting the handset to answer or make a call and replacing the handset to end a call. Using the hands-free mode Handsfree mode lets you make or answer a call without lifting the handset. You can switch from handsfree mode to handset mode and vice versa during a call. Answering a call in handsfree mode Making a call in handsfree mode Ending a call Press the blinking line key. -> Without lifting the handset, you can discuss directly in handsfree mode. The indicator light associated with the handsfree key goes on. Dial your correspondent's number directly on the keypad. -> The dialled number is displayed as it is entered. Your terminal changes automatically to handsfree mode. Press. Switching from handsfree mode to handset mode You are discussing in handsfree mode: Just pick up the handset. -> The conversation continues in handset mode (or discreet mode). The indicator light associated with the handsfree key goes off. On-hooking the handset ends the call

13 Call modes Switching from handset mode to hands-free mode You are discussing in handset mode: Press the handsfree key then hang up. -> The conversation continues in handsfree mode. The handsfree key indicator light goes on. At the end of the conversation, press the End key. Adjusting the listening volume level No matter the mode used (handset mode, handsfree mode, or headset mode), the listening volume is adjustable (8 levels). The setting is memorised. To reduce the volume: Press the left volume-adjustment key. To increase the volume: Press the right volume-adjustment key

14 Making a call There are several ways to make a call, depending on whether the called party's number is new or has already been stored by the terminal. The procedures for calling the parties whose numbers have been stored in the directories or logs are explained in the chapters dedicated to these features. When the called party answers, you may use any of the previously described modes. Dialling the number You will use the keys on the numeric keypad to dial the correspondent's number. * To call an internal correspondent: To call an external correspondent: Dial the correspondent's extension number. -> The display shows the name of the correspondent* Dial the outside line access code (0) or. 2 - Dial the correspondent's number. -> The display shows the number dialled or called party's name, if available in the directory. Using speed dial keys You can assign nine keypad keys to the numbers of parties you call regularly (internal or external). 1 to 9 Calling from call logs Press and hold down any of the keypad keys (1 to 9). -> The terminal automatically dials the number of the correspondent to whom this key had been previously assigned. The display shows the name of the correspondent if available. Note: To program a speed dial key, see Chapter Saving a number on a key, page 24. You can call a correspondent whose details have been stored in any of the calls logs (see Chapter Calls logs, page 20). * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator - 9 -

15 Making a call Calling an operator * (switchboard) To reach the person in charge of call distribution: 9 Dial 1 - Dial 9 or on the keypad. 2 - Press Dial to validate. Calling an internal party by name If you do not know your internal party's number, you can access it by entering their name on the alphanumeric keypad. Terminal idle: Phone Book 1 - Press the system Phone Book key. 2 - Enter the first characters of the surname, first name or a character string, to search everywhere using the alphanumeric keypad (for more information, see Alphanumeric keypad, page 4). For instance: - To search for John Duval, you can enter «J DU» ou «DU J» or «JO D» or «J D» etc... - To search for John Le Gros, the surname must be entered from the first part of the surname «J L» «JO L» «J LE» Press Enter to display the first answer. 4 - If several answer are available, select Next in order to place the cursor over the searched name then press Enter to validate. 5 - Using the browser, select the number to call (Office, Home, GSM). 6 - To call the correspondent, press Enter or to call from the secondary line of a multi-line terminal, press the line key corresponding to this line. To return to the idle screen: Press the left key of the browser or press the key. * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator

16 Making a call Using the automatic call back function You are calling an internal correspondent but he is busy and does not answer. You can ask that he be called back automatically. Enabling automatic call back Menu/Ident Call back 1 - Press the system Menu key. 2 - Select Call back pressing Enter. The automatic callback is saved and may be viewed by selecting Menu > Activated features. As soon as the called party in question is free (if the line was busy) or has enabled his telephone (if absent), your terminal rings. At this stage you can: off-hook: your correspondent is then called back, press the key to cancel the automatic call back. Desabling the automatic callback Menu/Ident If you wish to cancel a saved automatic callback. 1 - Press the system Menu key. 2 - Press to display Activated features and validate pressing Enter. 3 - Select Call back by pressing Enter. 4 - Press to display Select and press Enter to validate. -> The call back saved is displayed with the terminal number. 5 - Press again Enter. 6 - Press Done to deactivate the selected automatic callback. 11

17 Receiving a call During an incoming call, the terminal rings and the message indicator light blinks. If the caller is stored in any of the directories (internal or external * ), the display indicates the associated name. Adjusting the ringer volume You can adjust the ringer volume during the ringing phase. Press the left volume key to reduce the volume, or the right volume key to increase the volume (8 levels are available, including ringer off). -> The terminal stores the last setting. Answering a call Lift the handset. -> The conversation with the correspondent takes place in discreet mode. or Press the blinking line key. -> Without lifting the handset, you can discuss directly in handsfree mode. Remarque : An external call you have not answered within a given time is transferred to the operator. * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator

18 During a call Using the mute function A call has been set up with a correspondent and you wish to have a confidential conversation without the correspondent hearing you: Deactivate the microphone: Reactivating the microphone: Press Mute. -> The handset microphone is deactivated; the indicator light associated with the key flashes. Your correspondent does not hear you. Press Mute again. -> The handset microphone is in service; the indicator light associated with the key goes off indicating that your correspondent hears you again. Putting a correspondent on hold A call has been set up with a correspondent and you want to put it on hold to resume it later on the same terminal: 1 - Press Hold. -> Your correspondent is put on hold and hears beeps or musicon-hold. 2 - Press Hold again to resume your conversation with the correspondent. Putting a party on hold and resuming the call on another terminal You are communicating with a correspondent and you wish to continue the conversation on another terminal. Menu/Ident 1 - Press the system Menu key. 2 - Select Park. 3 - Press Enter. -> The terminal returns to idle with the "Parked call" status. Your correspondent is put on hold and hears beeps or musicon-hold. Note: The message disappears once the call is resumed on the

19 During a call On the second, idle terminal (A6xxxi series): other terminal or if the correspondent ends the call. Menu/Ident 1 - Press the system Menu key. Recover parking 2 - Press to display Recover parking and press Enter to validate. 3 - Dial the number of the terminal on which you have selected the Parking function then click OK to confirm. -> Communication with your correspondent has been restored. Note: if an external call on hold is not resumed within a given time, it is routed to the operator. An internal call is released. Via feature code: Recovering a parked call: # extension number On the same terminal: Menu/Ident If you change your mind and wish to recover the call on the terminal where it has been parked: 1 - Press the system Menu key. Recover parking 2 - Press to display Recover parking then press Enter to confirm. -> Communication with your correspondent has been restored. Via feature code: Recovering a parked call: # extension number Swapping a call between two terminals in the same association * Your subscription has several associated terminals: one fixed terminal and one DECT terminal, for instance. In this example, you wish to resume on the DECT terminal a call already set up on the fixed terminal # From the terminal of the association on which you wish to resume the call (the DECT terminal in our example), enter the code # 7 0 or. -> A confirmation message is transmitted. 2 - On the first terminal, release the call by hanging up or by pressing the End key. -> The call is now set up on the second terminal. * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator

20 During a call Transferring a call You wish to transfer an on-going call to another terminal: Dial 1 - Press the Transfer key. 2 - Dial the extension number. 3 - Press Dial. You can wait for your correspondent to answer or hang up immediately. Note: Transferring a call during an enquiry call is described on page 16 Transferring a call and searching for the correspondent You wish to transfer a call to another terminal but you do not know the correspondent's number. You can make a search by name, or search in any of the call lists or in the personal directory. 1 - Press the Transfer key. -> Votre correspondant est mis en attente et entend des bips ou une musique d attente. -> Your correspondent is put on hold and hears some beeps or music-on-hold. 2 - Press the system Directory key to call using search by name (Voir Calling an internal party by name, page 11) or you can search for your correspondent in the call logs (Voir Calls logs, page 20) or you can call from the terminal directory (Voir Accessing and calling from the personal directory, page 22). 3 - Press the Transfer key again before or after the correspondent answer. 15

21 During a call Calling a second correspondent You are in the middle of a call with a party and you want to call a second party, inside or outside the company. Switching between two parties 1 - Press the free line key. -> Your first correspondent is put on hold and hears an audible signal. 2 - Dial the number of the second correspondent. Note: You can also access a number stored in the directory or phone book. If the called correspondent does not answer, pres the blinking line key to return to the correspondent on hold. You are online with a second correspondent and you wish to switch successively from one correspondent to the other. Press the blinking line key to resume the conversation with the correspondent on hold. -> You talk alternately with each of the two correspondents, but they cannot communicate with one another. Releasing one of the correspondents To release one of the correspondents (the one with whom you are talking): Press to release the call in progress, then the blinking line key to resume the call on hold. Transferring a call during an enquiry call You are engaged in an enquiry call (with one correspondent online and another on hold). You wish to hang up an let your correspondents in communication. 1 - Press the Transfer key. 2 - Press the line key who was blinking before you have pressed the Transfer key. This is the correspondent who was put on hold. -> The transfer is made

22 During a call Answering a second call * You are on line with a correspondent and receive a second call (a new line key flashes). Press the flashing line key to take the second call (the first correspondent is put on hold). You can switch from one call to the other or set up a three-way conference. Setting up a conference call You are engaged in a call with a correspondent and you wish to set up a three-way with another correspondent. Dial Releasing one of the correspondents 1 - Press the Conference key. -> The party is put on hold. 2 - Dial the number of the other party. 3 - Press Dial. 4 - When the second correspondent is on line, press the Conference again to confirm (the first correspondent is kept on hold until the conference is validated). -> The numbers of your two correspondents are displayed on screen. If you cannot reach your 2nd correspondent, press the flashing line key to resume your conversation with the correspondent on hold. 1 - Using the browser go to the correspondent to be released. Drop 2 - Press Drop to release the selected correspondent. Withdraw from the conference Leave Press Leave. -> You are not any more in the conference, but your two interlocutors remain on-line. Ending the conference Press End or hang up. * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator 17

23 During a call Setting up a conference call during an enquiry call You are engaged in an enquiry call (with one correspondent online and another on hold). You wish to set up a three-way conference. 1 - Press the Conference key. 2 - Press the line key who was blinking before you have pressed the Conference key. This is the correspondent who was put on hold. -> The numbers of your two correspondents are displayed on screen. You are holding a conference call. Using the trace function * You want the number of the called or calling party (internal or external party) to be written in the logbook, for example, to identify a malicious call. Menu/Ident 1 - Press the system Menu key. Trace 2 - Press Next if necessary and select Trace. 3 - Press Enter to validate. -> A message confirms that your request has been taken into account. The number is stored in the logbook that can be consulted by the system operator. Note: when a call comes in and if the caller has on-hooked first, the Trace function remains accessible for 10 seconds. * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator

24 Calls logs To access the calls logs, press the system key Menu/Ident then select Calls logs. Four lists are then available: Missed Calls Log: unanswered calls Incoming Calls Log: answered calls Outgoing Calls Log: calls made All Calls Log: all incoming and outgoing calls. When consulting a log, you can automatically call back the stored number. You can delete a record or all the records stored. When the log is full, a new call will erase the oldest. When a call is repeated several times, only the last one is stored. Quick access to the logs Press this key to access quickly the Outgoing Calls log. Press this key to access quickly the Missed calls log. Viewing the calls logs Press the system Menu key then select Calls logs ( > > x Enter). Select the log to be viewed ( ) and press Enter to validate. In the All Calls log, records are preceded by one of these symbols: Outgoing call incoming call Unanswered incoming call In each log, the following informations are displayed: Time of call (HH:MM), for calls made on the same day. Date of call (JJ MM), for previous calls. Caller or called-party ID. To display the detail of a record: 1 - Select Details ( ) 2 - Press Enter to validate.

25 Calls logs Note: on a multi-line terminal, the line concerned by the call is indicated in the details. The missed calls log When you fail to answer your calls, a message on the screen informs you about the number of missed calls. To see the missed call(s), press the quick-access missed-calls-log key. Note: When you answer a call from a number saved in the missed calls log, this number is deleted from the list. Calling a party from the logs Note: correspondents with a hidden number cannot be called back. You have selected a record ( Deleting a record from a log Enter), select Call ( ) and press Enter to validate. -> The terminal automatically calls the correspondent. The record remains stored in the log. During the display of a record ( Deleting all the records in a log Enter), browse to Delete ( ) and press Enter to confirm. 1 - Press the system key Menu 2 - Select Calls logs. 3 - Press Enter to confirm. 4 - Browse to one of the following options : -> Delete Missed calls -> Delete Incoming calls -> Delete Outgoing calls -> Delete all 5 - Press Enter 6 - Press Done to confirm

26 Direct dialling This function is used to save a number on a numeric key. You can call your correspondent by pressing the programmed key. Saving a number on a key With the keypad: 1 to Press a long time (3 seconds) on a not already programmed key. From the terminal options menu: 1 - Preferences 3 - Speed Dial Edit 2 - Enter the number to save. -> In case of error, correct it with the Erase system key. 3 - For a multi-line terminal, select the line. 4 - Press Save (twice). 1 - Press the Options key. 2 - Select 1 - Preferences. 3 - Then select 3 - Speed Dial Edit. 1 à Enter the number of the key to be programmed: 1 to Enter the number to save. -> In case of error, use to correct. 6 - Press Save (twice). Making a call with a Speed Dial key 1 to 9 Press a long time on the key corresponding to the number to be called. Modify or suppress the programming 1 - Preferences 3 - Speed Dial Edit 1 - Press the Options key. 2 - Select 1 - Preferences. 3 - Then select 3 - Modif NumRapide. 1 à Enter the number of the key. 5 - Suppress all the characters ( ) or only the wrong characters and correct the phone number. 6 - Press Save (twice). Note: to return without modification, select Cancel

27 Call forwarding Call forwarding If absent or busy, you can forward your calls * to another terminal, an external number (GSM number, for instance) or to your voice mailbox *. This function can also be programmed through feature codes. They are described in Section Forwarding your calls through feature codes, page 24. Forwarding a call Menu/Ident Forwarding Choose the forwarding type 1 - Press the system key Menu 2 - Browse to Forwarding( ) and press Enter. Note: If forwarding has already been programmed, it is preceded by ( * ). The following forwarding types are proposed: Immediate forward Immediate forward : the call will immediately be forwarded to the terminal indicated. Forwarding if busy: the call is forwarded to the terminal indicated if your terminal is busy (or unavailable). Call forwarding on no reply: the call is forwarded to the terminal indicated when you do not answer. Predefined forward: the call is forwarded to a terminal whose number is programmed by the operator. 3 - Select the option you want (Immediate forward, for example) then press Enter to confirm. A message on the screen confirms the activation of forwarding. Note: to remind the programmed immediate forwarding (your terminal no longer receives calls), the menu key remains lit up. Choose the origin of calls You have chosen the origin of the calls to be forwarded. All origins All origin: forwards all calls. Internal origin: for forwarding calls from internal extensions. External origin: for forwarding calls from external extensions. 4 - Select the option you want (All origins, for example) then press Enter to confirm. *Selon programmation effectuée par l exploitant système

28 Choose the forward destination You will now choose the forward destination. To subscriber To forward calls to a subscriber: 5 - Select To subscriber and press Enter to confirm. 6 - Dial the extension number. In case of error, correct it with. 7 - Press Enter to confirm. To forward calls to voic Select To voice Mail. To forward calls to an external line * : Select To external line. Dial the external number preceded by the outside line access code. In case of error, correct it using. Press Enter to confirm. The display confirms that the request has been taken into account. The terminal returns to the Forward menu in which the forwarding type is preceded by ( * ). Reminder: press to return to the previous screen. Cancelling all forwardings Menu/Ident Forwarding Cancelling one forwarding Menu/Ident Activated features 1 - Press the system key Menu. 2 - Select Forwarding and press Enter to confirm. Select Delete all forwards to cancel all the previously forwarding operations. 1 - Press the system key Menu. 2 - Select ( ) successivelly Activated features, Forwarding, Select, pressing Enter to confirm. 3 - Select the forwarding operation you wish to cancel and press Enter to confirm. * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator

Forwarding your calls through feature codes If the system key Menu/Ident is not proposed, you can forward your calls to another terminal or to your voic . mmediate forward to another terminal * Press successively the keys * 2 1 or. 2 - Dial the extension number you want. -> All calls are immediately forwarded to the chosen terminal. Immediate forward to voic * 2 - Dial the extension number you want. -> All incoming calls to your terminal are forwarded to the chosen terminal. To cancel this forward: # 2 3 or * 2 5 Press successively the keys * 2 5 or. Forward on no answer to voic -> All calls are immediately forwarded to voic . * 2 6 Press successively the keys * 2 6 or. Forward on busy to voic -> All calls are forwarded to voic after a few rings. * 2 7 Press successively the keys * 2 7 or. -> All incoming calls to your busy terminal are forwarded to * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator

32 Personal directory You can save in your personal directory your most frequently used internal or external numbers (up to 200 names). The records are classed in alphabetical order. Creating a record in the personal directory Private Dir. Save Save Save 1 - Press the system key Private Dir. (Voir Description of the terminal, page 1). 2 - As soon as the directory home page opens, press the system key Save. 3 - Enter the phone number. 4 - Press Save. 5 - Enter the name. 6 - Press Save. Accessing and calling from the personal directory Private Dir. 1 - Press the system key Private Dir. (Voir Description of the terminal, page 1). -> The directory home page opens. 2 - Enter the first letter of the name. 3 - Use the browser's keys to display the number being searched for. 4 - To call the correspondent, lift the handset or press the handsfree key. Deleting a record from the personal directory You have selected a record to delete. Erase Press the Erase system key (twice), -> the record is deleted

33 Modifying directory display and sorting options Directory Display name order Sorting preferences 1 - Press the Options key. 2 - Press ( ) to select Directory and press Entrer to confirm. 3 - Press ( ) to select Display name order and press Entrer to confirm. Choose the desired display name order using. Press Set to confirm. 4 - Press ( ) to select Sorting preferences and press Entrer to confirm. Choose the desired sorting preference using. Press Set to confirm

34 Voic Voic * The voic helps you to manage your calls when you are absent or simply when you do not want to be disturbed. For the voic system to record your messages, you must configure and personalise your voic box. You must activate call forwarding to voic so your calls can be forwarded to it. Configuring and personalising your voice mailbox* You must call the voic system to access the menus to configure and personalise your voice mailbox. Voic Press the Voic system key (Voir Description of the terminal, page 1). or Enter the voic number. You can also successively press the keys * 53. -> A voice prompt welcomes you and gives the different commands to access the main menu. We recommend that you do the following straight away: Personalise your access code. Record your name. Record your greeting message. Consulting new messages On terminal idle, the blinking message lamp and the icon alert you to the fact that you have received a new message. You want to consult your voic Voic Press the Voic system key or Dial * 53 to access your voic . Depending on the programming performed by the system administrator, or voic type, there may be various ways to access your voice messages: entering an access code first, broadcasting from a welcome menu, or accessing directly the messages left in the order defined by the administrator. -> Follow the instructions provided by the voice prompt

36 Multi-key function Multi-key function * A terminal programmed in multi-key mode can have only one directory number, but has personalised keys to enable it to process several calls at the same time. Therefore, you can answer your parties as the calls arrive and display the calls on hold. The number of personalised keys programmed corresponds to the number of calls which you want to have at the same time. Example: for three simultaneous calls, program the multi-key function on three keys. Note: this function will be programmed by your system operator. Using an expansion module gives an immediate view of the programmed keys, regardless of whether the terminal is idle or communicating. Communicating with the multi-key function The multi-key function have been programmed on at least three keys. To answer a call : To answer a second call: When a call arrives on your terminal programmed in multi-key mode, the first programmed key flashes and the display shows the calling party s identity. Press this key to talk to the contact. -> The indicator associated to this key stays permanently on. Note: For this first call, you can also pick up the handset or use the loudspeaker key or the green key. The programmed key now lights up permanently in the same way. If other parties try to reach you, you will hear a beep, the indicator associated with another programmed key flashes and the caller s identity is displayed on screen. 1 - Press the flashing key. -> This key lights up permanently and you are put in contact with this second caller. -> The first correspondent is put on hold and the key associated to this call flashes slowly. 2 - The procedure is the same for each new call. 3 - To resume a call on hold, press the flashin key. 30 -> Note: a terminal in multi-key mode is displayed as free as long as there is at least one position available, i.e. one free * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator

38 Multi-line function Multi-line function * A multi-line terminal has several has several directory numbers*. Each directory number is stored on a programmed key. This function is mainly used to program on the same terminal: - a standard number that you give to everyone. - a private number that you only give to some people; this can also be an emergency number. Examples : For a manager, - the unfiltered private number, - the number filtered by his assistant. For an assistant, - the private number of his/her own calls, - The number for receiving filtered calls of the manager. Note: this function will be programmed by your system operator. Using an expansion module gives an immediate view of the programmed keys, regardless of whether the terminal is idle or communicating. When your terminal is programmed in multi-line function, you can use the features you want by assigning them to the directory numbers that you have. Each directory number can also be programmed in multi-key mode (managing double calls). You have a voice mailbox associated with each directory number. Forwarding is programmed independently and with secret access codes that may be different. Please note that certain procedures described in this guide are different when your terminal is programmed in multi-line mode. An additional step is required for the programming of certain features, for example: - selection of the line to be connected in case of multiple calls - selection of the line to be connected when programming a speed-dial key - or selection of the line to be routed (Forward menu). In all cases, follow the instructions shown on screen. 32 * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator

39 Communicating with the multi-line function The multi-line function has been stored on at least two programmable keys on your terminal (one key per line). To answer a call: To answer a second call: Switching between parties: When a call arrives on your terminal that is multi-line programmed, the indicator associated with the line key flashes and the display shows the calling party s identity. Press this key to talk to the contact. -> The indicator associated to this key stays permanently on. If another party tries to reach you on the second line, you will hear a beep, the indicator of a second key flashes and the display shows the calling party s identity. 1 - Press the programmed key which flashes. -> The indicator associated with this key lights up permanently. -> The first party is put on hold and the indicator of the key related to this call flashes slowly. 2 - To resume a call which was put on hold, press the key which flashes. To switch over from one party to the next, just press successively the programmed key the indicator of which flashes. The display shows the calling party s identity

40 The supervision function The supervision function * Programming on your terminal the supervision of a set of terminals enables you to: Know the status of supervised terminals (free, called, busy) Quickly pick up calls on these terminals Call these terminals directly. Note: this function will be programmed by your system operator. Using an expansion module gives an immediate view of the programmed keys, regardless of whether the terminal is idle or communicating. Communicating with the supervision function When the terminal supervision function has been programmed on a key of your terminal, the status of the indicator light associated with the programmed key varies according to the status of the supervised terminal. Picking up a call when your terminal is idle: When the supervised terminal is in standby mode, the indicator associated with the key is off. When the line of the supervised terminal is busy, the indicator light associated with the key remains steady on. When a call arrives on the supervised terminal, the indicator light associated with the key flashes and if programmed, your terminal emits an audible signal* (this signal is then emitted for all the supervised terminals). Superv. The supervised terminal is called and the programmed key blinks: Press the supervised programmed key to pick up the call. Picking up a call when you are in communication: The supervised terminal is called and the associated programmed key is blinking (it can be seen on the extension module). 1 - Press the waiting key to put the current call on hold (or press a free line key). Superv. 2 - Press the programmed key with supervision to intercept the call. You can switch from one call to the other, release one of the correspondent. * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator 34

41 Transferring an incoming call to the supervised terminal You are in communication with a party and you want to transfer the call to the supervised terminal: 1 - Press the Transfer key. Superv. 2 - Press the supervised programmed key then hang up. -> The indicator light associated with the program goes on. Calling the supervised terminal To call the owner of the supervised terminal: Superv. Press the supervised programmed key. The indicator light associated with the program goes on. When the called party answers, pick up the handset to talk

42 Filter function Filter function * Filtering enables a "filtered" terminal to forward calls to a "filtering" terminal while monitoring the forwarded calls. It requires the use of two programmable keys on each of the terminals: A key for activating and deactivating filtering, A key for calling and supervising the calls. Note: This function will be programmed by your system operator. Using an expansion module gives an immediate view of the programmed keys, regardless of whether the terminal is idle or communicating. Communicating with the filter function Activating the filter function: The key programmed with the filter function is used to activate this function from the filtered terminal or filtering terminal. Activ. F. Press the forward activation key. -> The indicator light associated with the key goes on and the terminal status (Forward activ.) is displayed on the screen. Note: The activation (or deactivation) of the filter function on any of the terminals (example, filtered terminal) is automatically recorded on the other terminal (example, filtering terminal). You are FILTERING To call the filtered terminal: To call the designated user of the filtered terminal. Superv. Filtered Press the key programmed for supervision. -> The indicator associated with the programmed key lights up. To answer the filtered calls: An inbound call for the filtered terminal arrives. -> The display indicates that the call was intended for the filtered terminal (Via...). Press the line key which flashes. You can also press pick up the handset. or If you are already on line, the same message is displayed and * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator 36

You are FILTERED To call the filtering terminal: To call the designated user of the filtering phone: Superv. Filtering Press the key programmed for supervision. -> The indicator associated with the programmed key lights up. To pick up a call that is meant for you: A call that was meant for you arrives on the filtering phone. On your terminal, the indicator associated with the key programmed for filter supervision flashes rapidly. Superv. Filering Press this key programmed for supervision then pick up the handset in order to talk to the calling party. To transfer the inbound call to the filtering terminal: You want to transfer an intercepted call to the filtering terminal. 1 - Press a free line key. Superv. Filtering 2 - Press the supervision key corresponding to the filtering terminal. -> The indicator associated with the programmed supervision

Deactivating the filter function: The key programmed with the filter function is used to deactivate this function from the filtered terminal or filtering terminal. Activ. F. Press the key used to activate/deactivate forward. -> The indicator light associated with the key goes off on the two terminals. On the filtered terminal, the Menu key indicator goes off and the terminal status (Forwarding activated) disappears from the screen. 38

46 Login/Logout function * At the moment, you are occupying an office equipped with a general-purpose terminal (not assigned to a subscriber). You can take your calls, programmed forwards as well as the language associated with your subscriber number from there. When you get back to your office, you will use the same procedure to retrieve your calls on your own terminal, as well as its configuration (forwards, programmable keys, terminal settings, etc.). If, however, you no longer want your subscription to be associated with the temporary terminal when you leave your office, you can release your terminal by carrying out a logout procedure on this terminal. The temporary terminal becomes a general-purpose terminal again. Calls can be made from this terminal. You can later retrieve your subscriber number and the associated rights on your own terminal by logging on again. The procedure described below applies in the same way on a multi-line terminal. Restoring your subscriber rights on a general-purpose terminal The terminal status is indicated by the message "Without subscriber", displayed on the top right of the screen. The system key Menu/Ident remains lit. Releasing a terminal* Logout Menu/Ident Menu/Ident 1 - Press the Menu/Ident key. 2 - Dial your subscriber number and press Enter. 3 - Enter your password. -> To define a password, see Changing the subscription password, page Press Enter. 1 - Press the Menu/Ident key. 2 - Select the Logout ( ) option then Enter. 3 - Your request is taken into account. Note: we advise you to program a forward on busy (to voic , for example) to ensure that your calls are taken into account. However, some system configurations allow automatic forwarding to voic ; seek advice from your system manager. * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator

47 Configuration options You will find in the appendix the list of all the options offered by the system (Voir Menu options, page 49), as well as links to the chapters handling the item. The present chapter describes in detail the configuration options offered by the system. For terminals without Menu/Ident key, the feature code allowing the use of these options is also described. Call settings To access these options, first press the system Menu/Ident key then select Settings ( ) then Calls. Setting an alarm Alarm 1 - Select Alarm and press Enter to confirm. Note: If some alarms have already been set, they are listed in the order of setting. Then select Add new alarm to set a new alarm. 2 - Enter the time you want your terminal to ring (format: hhmm). 3 - Press Enter to confirm. You can delete a set alarm: 1 - Select the alarm you wish to delete ( ). 2 - Press Enter to confirm. 3 - Press Done. You can also delete the programmed alarm(s) by accessing the activated features (Menu > Activated features). Via feature code: Set an alarm * hhmm Delete an alarm: # hhmm Locking the terminal * This option allows you to prohibit access to your phone, for instance while you are away (menu, call log, personal directory, external calls). Lock 1 - Select Lock. -> The screen displays «Phone is locked». Phone locked, but you can call an internal correspondent. * Depending on the programming performed by the system operator
