Creating your eportfolio and Networks Epsilen Access is restricted to those with Epsilen accounts (must be logged in). Institution Access is restricted to members of your institution (must be logged in). Public Information is viewable via a public URL. Access Keys Before you get started creating your eportfolio, you ll need to understand Access Keys. Access Keys define who can view information in your eportfolio. The three default access codes are explained on the left. You may also add new Access Keys to allow certain groups of people access to information. Click on Add New Access Key. Enter the Access Key s name and key code and click add. You may now assign the new Access Key to different information in your eportfolio. The information will only be viewable when the access key is entered. You may also edit the key by clicking on the pencil icon or delete the Access Key by clicking on the trash can icon.
. Interests Adding your interests is one step toward creating social and professional networks. Your interests will display in your corner and also on your eportfolio (if that option is checked). You may add teaching, research, career, and academic interests (see tabs on the left). To display your interests in the eportfolio, click the check box. Save changes and continue through the tabs. Contact Info You may add your contact information by either filling in the fields or importing your contact information from Facebook. You will be able to edit the information prior to saving in Epsilen. To assign Access Keys for each field, click on Edit. Choose the access key you wish to assign to the information. The default is Public. These fields are not required. If you would like to hide your eportfolio from search engines (Google, for example), click the check box. You also have the option of using an address as your login instead of the Epsilen generated login name. Check the box if you d like to use your primary or type another address to use as your login (must be an address).
Welcome Notes Note: If you chose to have your interests displayed in the eportfolio, they will also be displayed in the Welcome Notes. Use Welcome Notes to add custom content to your eportfolio Home page. Welcome Notes will appear in the middle section of your Home page. To start, click on Add New Welcome Note. Use the text editor to add text, photos, and/or links to YouTube videos. Click on Show Title to display the title in the eportfolio. You may also choose to assign an Access Key to this content at the bottom of the page. Save. To add additional Welcome notes, repeat this process. Multiple items can be rearranged by left clicking on the note, holding and dragging to a different area. You may also manage Access Keys in this view by selecting a title and clicking Manage Access Keys. To edit a note click on the pencil icon. To delete, click on the trash can icon. Pictures/Videos You may upload pictures from your desktop, Google, Flickr, Facebook, or select from a variety of avatars. To upload from your desktop: Click on Upload New Picture. The image you choose will always appear by your name in Project Share, including your eportfolio.
Click on Add Picture and browse to the file on your desktop. Under Viewable By select the Access Keys to define the users able to view the image. To use images from Google or Flickr, copy the image and save it to your computer. Then follow the steps above to upload the image to your eportfolio. To import images from Facebook, click on the Download from FaceBook link and follow the instructions to import pictures. Follow the same instructions for selecting Access Keys and uploading. Change the menu name by typing in the field. Click Save. From this screen you may also choose the tools you would like to appear as menu items on your eportfolio.

Preview eportfolio Use this option to preview your portfolio. You may also use the link at the top of the page. Anything you coded as Public will be viewable by the public using this direct URL. A note for Institution Admins: You may choose to address teacher eportfolios in district or campus policy. For example: What expectations, if any, does your district have regarding teacher eportfolios? What role will the eportfolio play at the campus level? Will you monitor the eportfolios? And, if so, how? Admins may activate and inactive eportfolio tools, as shown on the left. Admins may not inactivate eportfolios.
