10 3 Operaton examples 3.3 Operatng the ntraoral camera from a SIRONA treatment center Outlne In conjuncton wth the SIVISION PC software, SIDEXIS offers very convenent ntraoral camera operaton and mage vewng functons from the treatment center wthout use of the mouse or keyboard. Snce operaton vares accordng to the treatment center type or the SIVISION confguraton, please refer to the respectve operatng nstructons or manuals for detals. Below you wll fnd a descrpton of the most mportant operatng steps from a SIRONA treatment center. Steps 1. Press the followng button. The respectve patent (new or already known to the system) s regstered. You should check the regstraton n the SIDEXIS ttle bar. 2. Remove the camera from ts holder. The vdeo wndow opens. The LIVE IMAGE of the camera s dsplayed n the vdeo wndow. 3. Poston the camera. 4. Toggle between LIVE IMAGE and STILL IMAGE by brefly steppng on the foot swtch. - LIVE IMAGE changes to STILL IMAGE. - STILL IMAGE changes to LIVE IMAGE. 5. Save the STILL IMAGE: a. by steppng on the foot swtch for some tme; or b. by actvatng the spray functon. 6. Put back the camera n ts holder. The vdeo wndow closes. The saved STILL IMAGE s dsplayed n the exam workspace. 7. Optonally: Actvate the mage descrpton functon to enter or vew fndngs. Press the followng button. 10 D

13 4 Workng wth exams 4 Workng wth exams Outlne Users of conventonal, flm-based X-ray systems mostly use self-adhesve labels or felt tp pens to hghlght certan areas on X-ray mages or to take down notes. The mages are manually postoned on the X-ray vewng box. Then, they are compared wth other mages, measured, supermposed wth photos (orthodontcs!) or put n an envelope and sent to a specalst. The workng procedures applyng to conventonal flm exposures were transferred to the SIDEXIS XG user nterface. The workng and dagnosng processes of all exams are dsplayed together n the exam workspace. It s called Exam and s opened, saved and managed n. Each mage processng operaton can be saved as an Exam. In order to ensure convenent operaton of SIDEXIS XG wth the exam concept, t s recommend to customze the user nterface. The examples shown assume that the user nterface has been customzed. 14 4 Workng wth exams 4.1 Customzng the user nterface Outlne Customzaton comprses two steps: 1. Creatng a new toolbar 2. Replacng the toolbars Creatng a new toolbar Proceed as follows: Openng the confguraton dalog box 1. Place the mouse ponter somewhere on the menu bar. 2. Press the rght mouse button. A context menu s dsplayed. 3. Clck the Customze... menu tem. The Customze confguraton dalog box appears. Creatng a toolbar (example) 1. Select the Toolbars tab. 2. Press the New button. 3. Enter Exam as name n the text box and confrm ths name by pressng the OK button. An empty toolbar called Exam s dsplayed. 4. Now drag the Exam toolbar outsde the confguraton dalog box whle pressng and holdng down the left mouse button. Assgnng functons to the toolbar 1. Select the Commands tab. In the Categores lst box, the tem Exam should be selected. The tems n the Categores lst box correspond to the menus on the menu bar. All commands of the respectve menu appear n the Commands lst box. 2. Clck the ExamNew... command n the Commands lst box and drag t to the Exam toolbar whle keepng the left mouse button pressed, and then release the mouse button. To dsplay the ExamNew... command n the Commands lst box, you must scroll down the lst box wth the help of the scroll bar. 3. Repeat the last step wth the followng commands: - Choose - Close 14 D

Postonng the Exam toolbar at the wndow margn 1. Place the mouse ponter on the ttle bar of the Exam toolbar. 2. Whle pressng and holdng down the left mouse button, drag the Exam toolbar to the poston where the dsappeared Open toolbar was before. 3. The Exam toolbar occupes the empty space now. The Exam toolbar should look lke n the screenshot at the margn now. D

Proceed n the descrbed order! Regsterng the patent 1. Press the followng button. The Patent selecton dalog box appears. 2. Clck the desred patent n the Patent lst box. New should appear n the Exam lst box. If ths s not the case, select New by clckng t wth the mouse. 3. Confrm your selecton by clckng the OK button. The correspondng patent s regstered, and an empty exam workspace appears. Check the regstraton n the SIDEXIS ttle bar. Acqurng the X-ray mage 1. Now press the followng button. 17 4 Workng wth exams Specfyng a dagnoss 1. Select the mage by clckng t. 2. Press the rght mouse button to dsplay the context menu. 3. Select the Propertes functon. The Descrbe mage dalog box appears. 4. Type your fndngs n the Fndngs text box. 5. Actvate the QuckVew check box. 6. Close the dalog box by clckng the OK button. The Descrbe mage dalog box dsappears. Algnng the fndngs The fndngs are dsplayed as a yellow note n the upper left corner of the mages. 1. Place the mouse ponter on the fndngs. 2. Press and hold down the left mouse button and drag the fndngs outsde the mage area. The relaton between the mage and the fndngs s optcally represented by a dashed lne. Closng the exam 1. Now press the followng button. A reconfrmaton dalog box appears. 2. Confrm the queston by clckng the Yes button. The Save exam as dalog box appears. The software suggests a name for the current exam. It can be edted. 3. Close the dalog box by clckng the OK button. The exam s then saved and closed. Checkng out the patent 4. Now press the followng button. The patent s checked out. D

Clck the desred patent n the Patent lst box. 3. In the Exam wndow, select the opton Exstng. All saved exams are dsplayed. 4. Select the desred exam by clckng t. 5. Confrm your selecton by clckng the OK button. The patent s regstered and the selected exam s loaded nto the exam workspace Verson 2 - Patent s already regstered. Steps 1. Press the followng button.
