3 INTRO Newrun is a research corporation located in Research and Development Special Zone, inveseted by electronics and telecommunications research institute (ETRI) and ETRI Holdings, a specialized company for public technology commercialization. This manual is designed for helping customers use Ion Smart Door Cam more conveniently, pleasantly, and safely. Please read this manual carefully before using this device for safety. 5 Product Specification Smart Door Lock System Human Approaching Detection /Take Picture Transmission/ Storing Receiving /Confirmation Human approaching /Door Opening Smart Door Lock Server Smartphone Application When a person comes close to an installed product or open the door, Smart Door Lock will detect and photograph him/her and send the image to Newrun PRO application which is installed in the client's smart phone. 11 Installation 1. Install main body Install Guide for hole and latch Hole for handle of lock Caution The gap between latch and main body is must be 5mm ± 1.5mm If the gap is wider than it, auto locking function could not working. Page 11
12 Installation 2. Install Newrun IP Newrun IP 1.5m LAN Wireless Router Newrun IP communicates the main module on the door using RF technology, so it should be located within the range where RF communication is available. (50m) To operate this device, Newrun IP must be connected on the Internet through a LAN cable. The LAN cable may connect Newrun IP to a main line or a wire/wireless router of the Internet. The wireless router and Newrun IP can be interfered with each other when using a LAN cable distributed from the wireless router. Thus, Newrun IP and the wireless router has at least 1.5m distance. Transmitting photographs and messages takes more time or is even impossible when Newrun IP and the router are too close. After placing Newrun IP properly, insert LAN cable to the LAN cable port behind the Newrun IP. Then, supply power. Turn the switch ON, located behind the New-run IP. USB, HDMI port on Newrun IP is for maintaining and updating. Please don t connect laptop or other devices via these ports. It may result in device failure. Page 12
13 Using Door Lock 1. Registeration of password Open the battery cover located in the inner body. Press the left button shown in the above picture. It beeps. Input a password. The length of password is between 4 and 19. Press * to confirm the registration of the password. It sounds ding-dong-dang. Open the door when registering a password and check the password registered. Proceed the next step before the light goes off, within 15 seconds, for connecting the next step. 2. Change of password Do the same procedure as registering a password for changing a password. Setting a new password will delete the old password. Open the door when registering/changing a password. The initial password is Strongly recommend to change the password after installing the product. Page 13
14 Using Door Lock 3. Registering Card Open the battery cover located in the inner body. Press the left button shown in the above picture. It beeps. Press the # button on the outer body. Attach the card keys which you want to register to the key panel card keys are possible to register. Press the left button again. You will hear ding-dong-dang if the registration is successful or bip-bip. 4. Deleting Card registration Open the battery cover located in the inner body and press the left button as in the picture. Press 0 key twice, located in the key panel of the outer body. Press * to complete the deletion. All registered card keys will be deleted. You need to register new card keys after deleting. Page 14
15 Using Door Lock 5. Opening Door(from outside) 1) By keypad(password) Touching the key pad will light it. Input the password. Press * to open the door. Five wrong input of password will stop the key pad operation for 1 minute. Try again after 1 minute when it stops. 2) By RF card key Touch the registered card key on the panel to open the door with the sound ding-dong-dang. General public transportation card key can be registered. (Some cards may not be registered.) 3) By mechanical key When forgetting the PIN or lose of the card key, you may use the mechanical key after opening the key cover as shown in the picture. Page 15

Opening Door(from inside) 4) By handle Push down the inside lever to open the door even when it is locked (Panic function). 5) By manual opening/locking wheel Rotate the manual opener to open the door. Use the opener in the case of emergency, such as fire. 6. Locking Door 1) Automatic locking Sensor for auto locking It will lock the door after 1 second when the door is closed. 2) Manual locking from inside Rotate the manual opener to lock the door. 3) Manual locking from outside Touching the key pad will lock the door. 17 Additional Functions & Setting 1. Auto locking function The door will lock automatically in 1 second after it is closed. - Automatic: open the battery cover and press the input button one time as shown in the picture Press 4 in the key panel Press # in the key panel (ding-dong-dang). - Manual: open the battery cover to press the input button one time Press 6 in the key panel Press # with a beep. Time for lock can be set between 2 9 seconds. - Press the left button button 8 press between 2 9 for the time interval Press * 2. Double locking function Double locking inside - Setting double locking will not let the door open outside. Set: Press the manual lock button for 3 seconds. (ding-dongdang) Release: Press the manual lock button for 3 seconds with a beep sound or press the inside lever down. 3. Password exposure preventing function by imaginary numbers Password exposure preventing function - Imaginary numbers may be used not to expose the real password. How to use imaginary numbers - Press random numbers before pressing the real password, so the real password can be concealed. Page 17
18 Additional Functions & Setting 4. Alarm for locking error When the door is closed completely, the door lock will try to lock the door 3 times and beeps 3 times. 5. Alarm for compulsory opening It will alarm for 1 minute when the door opens by force. Input the right password or the registered card key will cancel the alarm. 6. Adjust volume of alarm Press the left input button key 1 or 3 Press * 1 will decrease the volume. 3 will increase the volume. Page 18
19 Additional Functions & Setting 7. Fire detecting function The door will open automatically when the heat is detected between The system includes a fire alarm system. 8. Door-open detecting function A sensor detects door-opening when the door opens and sends a message to the user's smart phone. It includes the inside door sensor. 9. Alarm for changing batteries Batteries should be changed to new ones when a melody sounds from the device or the low-battery push alarm message is given on your phone. Used batteries cannot guarantee the stated time length. Charged batteries will trigger abnormality in operation. Page 19
20 Changing batteries & Emergency opening 1. The way to change batteries Open the battery cover to change batteries. Changing batteries will not affect registered PIN or card keys. A melody from the device or a low-battery push alarm message shows that batteries should be replaced to new ones. Lithium batteries are recommended for the device. More detection and photographing will increase the battery consumption. Confirm the battery placed in the right direction. Wrong direction may result in an abnormal operation. Failure from non-standard battery usage is not for New-run's responsibility. 2. Emergency opening Even when completely out of battery, opening the door is possible through emergency opening process. Attach a DC 9V square type alkaline battery to the emergency terminal of outer main body as shown in the picture. Then press the PIN or use the card key. Make sure the battery and the terminal attached. (direction of pole does not matter.) Page 20
21 Register users, products and receiver 1 User registration is necessary to use the application. Go to the webpage ' and see the page below. Choose User Registration' Button. 2 After filling the registration, push register button. Name Password Repeat Password Phone number After filling the registration, push 'register' button. The phone number should be the real user's, and omit hyphens(-) to type only numbers. ex) (X) (O) 3 When the registration is complete, a window showing that registration completes shows up. Page 21
22 Register users, products and receiver 4 Log-in - Type ID and password to log in as an administrator. Call us ( ) if you have any questions. Choose Login' Button. 5 Main functions Search Products - Registered products can be found through search. - Enable to search through the name when the product is registered or product serial number 2. List : To return to the whole product list from searching results by clicking [List]. 3. Door lock & Cam Registration - To register/add a product To check details in the product registration page. 4. Delete : To delete the registered product 5. Modify : To modify the information of registered product 6. Management of receivers : To manage receivers who get the pictures taken and door-opening messages from the registered product. Page 22
23 Register users, products and receiver 6-1) Product Management Product Search 1 1. Choose the method for searching - Name for product registration - Product serial number 2. Type words for searching - Type the name or the serial number. 3. Click the search button - The product will be searched. Searching with part of name or serial number is possible; it will find all products with the information if the products include the typed word or number. The appearance of searched result is the exactly same with the main list, so [List] button is available to go back to the whole product list. Page 23
24 Register users, products and receiver 7-1) Product Management - Registration Choose Register' Button. 1. Serial Number : Type the serial number of the product that will be registered. Serial number of the product is located at the back side of the main body. Check the number before you install it. It may be hard to check the number after installing it. Don t expose the serial number of the product to others. 2. Product Name : Type the name of product that will be registered 3. Product registration : Click the [Register] button to proceed the next phase. Page 24
25 Register users, products and receiver 7-1) Product Management - Registration Type password to confirm the registration : To make registration completed, type the password of administrator and click [confirm]. Choose Confirm' Button. 7-2) Product Management - Delete 1 2 Choose Confirm' Button. 1. To delete the registered product : To choose the product that will be deleted in the product list and click [Delete] button. 2. To type password to confirm deletion : To make deletion completed, type the password of administrator and click [confirm]. Page 25
26 Register users, products and receiver 7-3) Product Management Modify product info Choose Confirm' Button. 1. To modify the registered product - To choose the product that will be modified and click [Modify] button. 2. To modify the product information - After modifying the product name or the period for preserving picture/door-opening message, click [Modify] button to proceed to the next phase. 3. To type password to confirm modification - To make modification completed, type the password of administrator and click [confirm]. Product serial number is not changeable. Page 26
27 Register users, products and receiver 8-1) Receiver management Receiver addition Choose Confirm' Button. 1. Receiver Management - After choosing the product of which the receiver will be changed, click [Receiver Management] button. 2. Receiver registration - To add a receiver, choose [Receiver Registration] button in the receiver list to proceed to the next phase. 3. To type the information of the receiver - After typing the smart phone number of the receiver, name, and the address, click [Confirm] button to proceed to the next phase. Omit hyphens(-) to type only numbers. 4. To type password to confirm adding the receiver - To make the addition completed, type the password of administrator and click [confirm]. Page 27
28 Register users, products and receiver 8-2) Receiver management Push alarm reset Choose Confirm' Button. 1. Receiver management - After choosing the product of which receiver information will be changed in the list, click [Receiver Management] button. 2. Push alarm reset (only for i-phone) - Click Reset button in the receiver list to proceed to the next phase. Reset is required for the following: In i-phone, when newrun pro application is reinstalled and the same phone number is entered before reinstallation, the push alarm should be reset; Android phone is not applicable. If push alarm resetting without deleting the application, push alarm does not occur. In the case, reinstallation is required. The push alarm status in i-phone is required. 3. To check the device to be initialized and type password - After typing password of administrator, click [Confirm] button to initialize the push alarm. Page 28
29 Register users, products and receiver 8-3) Receiver management - Delete Choose Confirm' Button. 1. Receiver management - After choosing the product of which receiver information should be changed, click [Receiver Management] button. 2. Receiver Deletion - Click the [Delete] button in the receiver list to proceed to the next phase. 3. To confirm deletion and type password - After typing the password of administrator, click [Confirm] to delete the chosen receiver. Page 29
30 Register users, products and receiver 8-4) Receiver management Modify Phone number Name Choose Register' Button. 4 Choose Confirm' Button. 1. Receiver management - After choosing the product of which receiver information should be modified, click [Receiver Management] button. 2. Receiver Modification - To click [Modify] button in the receiver list to proceed to the next phase. 3. To type the modified information - After modifying receiver s information, click [Confirm] to proceed to the next phase. (Phone number is not changeable.) 4. To confirm modification and type password - After typing the password of administrator, click [Confirm] to modify the information of the receiver. Page 30
31 Register users, products and receiver 9 User account To confirm or modify the account information - Administrator name or ID which is currently set can be identified. - Password is changeable by typing a new password. Do not expose password to others. Page 31
32 Download & install application 1. Android OS Run the Play Store in the Smart phone. Push the search Icon. Type Newrun or Newrun PRO in the search text box and begin to search Choose Newrun Pro in the search result. Begin to install by pushing Search in the setup page. Push Agree in the Application Right page. It begins to download. The application is available when the download is complete. Page 32
33 Download & install application 2. ios Run the App store in the iphone. Push the search Icon and run the app search. Type 'Newrun PRO' in the search text box. Choose 'Newrun PRO' in the search result. Push 'Free' in the search result or the setup page. Push 'Install' to begin to download. When the download is complete and it ask you to allow push notice, choose 'Allow' to register phone numbers. After downloading, register the i- phone number to use the app. Page 33
34 Using application 1. To run application through checking push alarms Screen shows Push alarm arrival message with sound and vibration when someone visits or the door opens. In the informing window, application will start after touching the push alarm, and it will move to the pictures or door-opening message screen. The application of this product has the same layout in both Android smart phone and i-phone for users convenience. However, the layout may be different along with smart phone OS or the versions of the OS. Page 34
35 Using application 2. To run the application Touch Newrun PRO in the smart phone screen. 3. Confirm photos The application will start with the logo of Newrun. All products connected with the smart phone will be listed when several products are installed. When choosing a product, the list taken sorted by month will show up. When choosing month, the list sorted by date will show up. When choosing date, the list sorted by time will show up. Page 35
36 Using application 3. Confirm photos The picture taken at the time will show up when selecting. Pictures can be deleted in the picture list screen. You will be asked to confirm the deletion. 4. Calling in Picture Checking page The layouts of keypad, recent call, contact list in your smart phone might be different from the picture to the left depending on OS or versions. You can make a call by touching Call in the Picture Checking page. It will show up dial pad to make a call. Page 36
37 Using application 5. Emergency Call Push the emergency call button to call to the registered numbers directly. After pushing the button, you can choose where to call in the list. If not registered any emergency call, you can add one by pushing Add Emergency Call in the list. The detail of registration on the emergency call list is available in the function set page. Page 37
38 Using application 6. Door opening message check and management All products linked with the smart phone will show up. Touching products will list door-opening messages sorted by month. Touching the month will list dates. Touching the date will show when the door opened. You can delete the dooropening messages in the list. You need to confirm to delete the door-opening message. 39 Using application 7. Product confirmation Touching Product menu will show the products linked the smart phone. Touching the product will show the details. Page 39
40 Using application 8. Configuration 1) Check version and updates Touching the version button in the Setting menu will show the application version. You can update in the version information page. 2) Help Touching the Help button will give you additional information. You can check FAQs in the Help page. Touching each question will expand for the answer. Page 40
41 Using application 8. Configuration 3) Message Arrival Setting Pictures and Dooropening messages are receiving although message arrival notice has been turned off. Touching Message Arrival Setting in the setting menu can change the method for message arrival notice. You can choose sound, vibration, sound and vibration, turn off notice. 4) Setting the period of synchronization Touching the button for setting the period of synchronization in the menu can change the period. Choose the proper period for synchronization in the list. What is the synchronization period? Synchronization is the function that a smart phone checks new pictures or messages periodically even for bad Internet access. Thus, short synchronization period will check updated information more often so consumes more battery. Proper period is recommended. Standard Synchronization period: 5 minuetes i-phone does not offer this function. Page 41
42 Using application 8. Configuration 5) Password lock Touching Password lock button can set up or change a password Input 4 digits to set up a password. Repeat the same password to complete the password setting. 6) Change Password When you forget password This application works locally, so there is no other way to find the password when forgetting. Delete the application and reinstall it to reset a password. Touching Password change can change the password in the menu. Type a new password and repeat to change an old password. Page 42
43 Using application 8. Configuration 7) Setting an emergency number and its deletion Touching the Emergency number setting button can set the emergency call number. The redirected page will show the emergency call number which is already registered. Touching the delete button will pop-up a window asking you to confirm the deletion. Choosing Confirm to complete the deletion. You can add an emergency call number in the emergency setting page by touching Emergency Call Add. In the next phase, you can choose either Contact List or Manual Input to register a phone number. After saving the number in the previous step, set the name to finish the registration. Page 43
