Abstract This specification defines the specification for the SACD structures which are used by AV/C Disc Subunit Model and Command Set. Participants in working groups serve voluntarily and without compensation from the Trade Association. Most participants represent member organizations of the 1394 Trade Association. The specifications developed within the working groups represent a consensus of the expertise represented by the participants. Use of a 1394 Trade Association Specification is wholly voluntary. The existence of a 1394 Trade Association Specification is not meant to imply that there are not other ways to produce, test, measure, purchase, market or provide other goods and services related to the scope of the 1394 Trade Association Specification. Furthermore, the viewpoint expressed at the time a specification is accepted and issued is subject to change brought about through developments in the state of the art and comments received from users of the specification. This document is used in conjunction with the AV/C Disc General Specification. 1.2 Overview This document describes the descriptors of the SACD in detail, the SACD specific rule for command and the profiles. 11 TA Document , December 11, 2001 AV/C Disc Media Type Specification - SACD Disc Subunit Identifier Descriptor 4.1 Size of List ID, Object ID and Object Position The size value of list ID, object ID, and object position shall be as shown below Table 4.1 The size value Field name value Size_of_list_ID Size_of_object_ID Size_of_object_position NOTE size_of_object_id = 0 indicates that object ID is not used in all object lists within the subunit that is specified in this version of the document. A controller should note that if the subunit supports object lists, which use object_ids in the future, size_of_object_id will be set to a value other than Type Dependent Information The type_dependent_information field contains information that is specific to each type of medium supported by the subunit. The upper 4bits shows the major version number and the lower 4bits show the minor version number. The value of the root_object_list_id when there is no disc in the player is currently not defined. Implementors are advised to check updates to the AV/C Disc General Specification for the behavior under this condition. It is strongly advised that a controller should first check to see if there is a disc loaded in the player (using the disc_in_drive bits in the media_and_edit_status_info_block) before trying to identify the type of disc and its contents. 4.4 SACD Specific Rule for Disc Subunit Identifier Descriptor The Disc Subunit Identifier Descriptor shall be updated to show the type of disc, which is currently in the player. FF 16 pad bytes if necessary. 5.2 Position Indicator Info Block Absolute HMSF Count (02 16 ) The following equation represents the relation between the hours minutes seconds frames fields of the absolute HMSF count and the Time_Code (minutes,seconds,frames) within the Frame_Info of Audio_Header of the SACD. hoursminutessecondsframes of the Absolute HMSF Count = Time_Code (minutes,seconds,frames) of Frame_Info When Time_code exceeds 59 minutes, the value shall be converted into hoursminutes format. For example, a Time_code of 60 minutes becomes hoursminutessecondsframes of the Absolute HMSF Count = ( ) Relative Segment HMSF Count (08 16 ) The following equation represents the relation between the segment number of the Relative Segment HMSF Count, the Pause and the Index of the SACD, see Figure 5.1 When the segment number of the Relative Segment HMSF Count is 0 segment number 0 of the Relative Segment HMSF Count means Pause. When the segment number of the Relative Segment HMSF Count is other than 0 segment number of the Relative Segment HMSF Count means Index. Each logical volume has its own contents list (see section 8.2). Selection of these logical Volumes is by the SET PLUG ASSOCIATION command, see [R2], AV/C Disc Subunit Enhancements for Hard Disk Drive specification, version 1.0. If the disc has more than one logical Volume, then the subunit shall support changing the logical Volume. However, if the current state of the subunit does not allow the logical Volume to be changed (for instance, while the deck is playing a track), then the target shall return a REJECTED response to the command. The upper byte indicates the family, while the lower byte specifies more detailed specifications or about its format.
