1 2-Letter Shortcuts and other time saving tools! Shave off time and increase productivity in the diagram program using two-letter commands. Nearly every command has an associated two-letter command. A command can be invoked by typing the two character shortcut. For example to invoke the Linear Copy command, you can type CO (or of course start it from the menu or toolbar). Most of the two-letter commands are mnemonic making them easy to remember, such as; ZA Zoom All or RD Redraw. Note: Not every command has a keyboard shortcut. Also, in some cases three-letter commands are used instead of two such as Layer Manager (MGL). This report contains a complete list of the shortcut commands. You can also find the two letter command on the commands tooltip or the pull-down menus next to the command. A tooltip or pull-down menu command will look like this; Quick list of shortcut commands. Start using two letter shortcut commands while you re diagramming and create your own list. In the beginning it s helpful to keep a hand written list of your favorite shortcuts near your computer while you re incorporating them into your work flow. If you find that you re using a specific command regularly then find its shortcut and add it to you list. Xtras the Commands not listed in the program. There are commands you may find useful that are not even listed in the program and can only be accessed by their two-letter description. In the shortcut command list look you will find the unlisted commands at the end of each section under xtras. For example, here s a command for an elliptical arc. You won t find this type of arc in the program menus. draw xtras EA, Elliptical Arc

2 More time saving tools. Use the Spacebar to repeat the last command. Use the Right Mouse Click to bring up helpful tools, Properties, and context sensitive tools associated with the current process. Example: While drawing a continuous line open up the right click menu to access these commands associated with the continuous line tool; Finish, Close Contour, Undo Last Vertex, and Explode Continuous Lines. Use the Escape key to back undo the last vertex while drawing a continuous line, curve, arc, dimension, etc Use the Mouse Wheel to zoom in and out of your drawing. Hold down the mouse wheel to pan. Double click on existing text or dimensions to bring up the Text Edit or Dimension Edit dialog. Hold down the Control key to toggle in and out of Ortho mode. Drag a Selection Window from left to right to only capture objects completely inside the window. Drag from right to left to capture objects inside or touching the window.
