3 INTRODUCTION The SmartD90EV s a new concept of photo prnter system desgned to offer an outstandng user experence whle prnt your camera shoots, memores, and any nstant moment taken at any event: Prvate partes, ceremones, corporate events, The system conssts of the mult format dye sublmaton photo prnter CP-D90DW combned wth a powerful small computer. The bult n software of ths new generaton computer provdes the capablty of wreless connecton from dfferent devces (Smartphones, Tablets, PCs, hgh end photo cameras, ) and wth multple transfer protocols ( ftp, http, smb ) 3

4 BASICS The SmartD90EV software offers two dfferent bult n prntng servces based on web technology than can be selected and setup from the mantenance applcaton, that s also based on web technology and provded by the nternal web server. The bult n prntng web servces avalable are the EasyPrnt servce and the FunPrnt servce. The SmartD90EV also offers prntng servces from external applcatons, lke the Kosk Prnt app avalable for Androd and OS Smartphones and Tablets, hgh end photo cameras, and other applcatons and systems developed by authorzed thrd partes. The SmartD90EV s nput photo/mage area s structured n smart contaners called HotFolders. The unque combnaton of the HotFolders, the Smart Image Processor and the Prnt Module gves large flexblty to prnt out hgh qualty mult format photos,add frames and text, and allows the SmartD90EV offer several prnt servces smultaneously: EasyPrnt, Kosk Prnt app, thrd partes apps, Input HotFolder 1 HotFolder 2 HotFolder n Smart mage Processor & Image Constructor Prnt Module & Prnt Control Prnt Output System control SmartD90EV Block dagram 4

5 CONSTRUCTION OF COMPOSITIONS Each one of the nput HotFolders has ts own mage constructor parameters. The mage processor uses these parameters to buld the mage to be prnted. The constructon of the mage s based on a canvas concept. The SmartD90EV s mage processor creates a sold surface base on where the dfferent layers that wll create the fnal mage are panted followng a certan order. The avalablty of some layers depends on the selected servce mode and the settngs of the HotFolder used by the servce selected. Each layer has ts own group of settngs that can be adjusted from the SmartD90EV s mantenance applcaton. All the layers are referenced to the upper left corner of the base canvas, beng ths pont the 0,0 coordnate. In order to create a correct fnal mage, all the layers have to be equally szed. The mage/photo layer has four parameters for the mage constructor: X, Y W, H. The values must be n pxels and defnes the are where the mage wll be ftted. 8 OPERATION Easy Prnt Servce Easy Prnt provdes a quck and easy way of prntng stored mages from moble phones and tablets (OS and Androd). Ths servce feature and functons are: Quck prnt servce One mage per prnt Import custom frames to add to the photo No photo edtng Users can select an mage from ther photo lbrary or take a photo and send t drectly for prntng thru W-F connecton Easy Prnt1 After selectng photo: 1. Order Confrm screen wll come up. 2. The mage wll be mmedately uploaded to the system. Prntng wll begn shortly

9 OPERATION Easy Prnt2 After selectng photo: 3. Clck Prnt button to upload the mage to the SmartD90EV. Press Back to re-select photo. 4. The mage wll be mmedately uploaded to the system. Prntng wll begn shortly 5. Once the mage has been uploaded the user wll get an order ref number that can be used for valdaton purposes. To contnue press Select New mage

10 OPERATION Fun Prnt Servce Fun Prnt allows selecton of up to 6 mages from your moble devce and place them n a pre-format template. Can prevew and edt each mage before prntng. The feature and functons are: Up to 6 mages per prnt Users can edt each mage (sze, angle, poston) and add decoraton cons. Copes are selectable by end-users End-users can prevew mage(s) before sendng t for prntng Fun Prnt After selectng photo: 1. Choose a template desgn (No. 1-6). 2. Tap on the square to place the photo n that locaton. 3. Optonal: clck Stamp to show Select Stamp screen. Choose a stamp and select a stamp sze. Touch mage to stamp. 4. Optonal: To edt the photo, touch the photo and hold, to show the edt menu. *Adjust sze, poston and angle or re-select mage (center con). 5. Clck confrm to upload the mage and prnt

12 OPERATION Sharng SmartD90EV Hotfolders wth Samba The SmartD90EV mplements Samba (SMB) protocol to share ts nternal HotFolders. It makes very easy create a network connecton between computers (MAC, Wndows, Lnux) and the SmartD90EV and then send the fle mages stored n these devces by smply Clck -> Drag and Drop the fles nto the HotFolders. 13 OPERATION Ftp servce The SmartD90EV has bult n ftp server that allows mage fle transfer from several types of wreless devces and applcatons, lke photo cameras, smartphones, computers,. Therefore, ftp can be used to send the mage fles from these devces supportng ftp to the SmartD90EV HotFolders. The mage fles sent to the HotFolders wll be processed and prnted. 14 OPERATION #Hashtag prnt servce From V1.5, the SmartD90EV has a bult n app that searches n nternet for mages labeled wth a specfc #Hashtag on socal network lke Instagram or Twtter, download the mages found and prnt them. The #Hashtag servce works under lcense. To setup the SmartD90EV wth #Hashtag servce you wll need: 1. #Hashtag servce lcense: Ask your dstrbutor or contact for more nformaton about the type of lcenses and how to get them. 2. An account at the software management platform: 3. SmartD90EV regstraton at 4. #Hashtag lcense actvaton 5. SmartD90EV setup wth Internet connecton (Recommended Lan or WF to a dedcated network for the applcaton) #Hashtag The avalablty of the #Hashtag servce may be affected by changes n the techncal specfcaton and/or use on the Instagram and Twtter platforms. 14

In ths case, V1.4 System: Shows the status for the prnt servce: Ready: The SmartPhotoPrnter s ready to prnt Stopped: The prnt Servce s stopped and the SmartPhotoPrnter cannot prnt Error: The SmartPhotoPrnter cannot prnt. Check the prnter condton. Servce Info: Shows the man web prnt servce settngs Top Menu: It launches the mantenance menu Start Servce: Starts the prntng servce Stop Servce: Stops the prntng servce Reboot: Reboots the smart system (not the prnter) Shutdown: Swtches off the smart system (not the prnter) 16

17 SETTINGS Top menu The enabled tems of the Top Menu depend on the system status. When the system s n Ready condton, most of the tems are dsabled to avod that the Smart Photo Prnter settngs are changed. Items wth dark grey background are dsabled. System: Stopped System: Ready 17

To set up system date and clock go to: Top Menu -> System Settng -> date & Tme settng Servce: Shows the Hot Folder name used by the prnt servce. TARLstener (for Kosk Prnts app), Polarod, Instagram, Prnt Sze: Sze of the prnted out. 10x15, 15x20, Prnts: Number of prnts ncluded n the order. Completed Prnts: Number of prnts that are completed at a certan moment. Status: It can be shown 3 dfferent status Prntng: It s shown whle the order s beng prnted Paused: It s shown f the order s pendng of valdaton. Completed: It s shown once the prntng order has been fnshed PRINTER INFO ID: Not used Model: CP-D90D n the mage Status: The status of the prnter devce at a certan tme: Ready, Door Open, Error, Press Refresh button to update the status, Meda: Type of meda loaded. In the mage 15x10(6x8 ) for CK-D868 Reman: Remanng photos. In the mage 126 remanng. SYSTEM INFO 18

19 SETTINGS System Info Statstcs: Shows a report of all the servces ordered between the selected dates grouped by type of servce Applcaton Info: Show nformaton about the software versons of each prntng servce component: Edtng Processor, Prnt Module Lte, Easy Prnt, Fun Prnt, Mantenance. Error Info: Creates a compressed fle contanng log and error nformaton about the system. The fle s saved nto a memory devce that must be attached to a free USB port of the SMARTD90EV. In the USB memory devce t s created a folder named wth the System ID that contans the saved fle. 20 SETTINGS Hotfolder settng Stop Servce to access ths tem The HotFolder Settng tem dsplays the basc settngs for each one of the exstng HotFolders. To edt the settngs of a specfc HotFolder, clck on ts ID Hotfolders ID 101 to 120 are used for Easy prnt servce. Hotfolders ID 201 to 206 are used for Fun prnt servce. Hotfolder 300 s used for the Smart Prnt applcaton for Androd and OS smartphones Hotfolders 301 to 320 are used for ftp and smb servces. Hotfolder 360 s used for #Hashtag servce. ID: It shows the ID number of a HotFolder. The ID s a unque dentfcaton number that cannot be edted. Name: An alas for the HotFolder. The name can be edted for a better dentfcaton of the prntng format. Prnt Sze: The selected prnt sze for the mages sent to the HotFolder. Copes: The number of copes for each mage sent to the HotFolder Status: If the HotFolder s Enabled or Dsabled. Enable / Dsable: If DISABLE s selected the HotFolder can not be used for any servce. Name: The alas for the HotFolder. Type a name accordng to the prntng format for a better understandng and more easy servce setup. Prnt Sze: Select from the lst one of the predefned prntng szes. If Varable s selected, then choose Wdth between 1550/1852 pxels and nput Heght accordngly. Qualty: Prntng qualty: Auto: The prnter selects the prnt mode dependng on the mage content. For dark mages t wll use Ultra fne mode to prnt more detaled mages. Fne: For faster prntng. Ultrafne: For a more detaled prnt out. Fnshng: Prnt out Glossy / Mate Whte Border: Enable/Dsable a whte border around the prnted mage. Copes: Number of copes for each mage sent to the HotFolder Layout: Set Varable to customze the prnt out usng the Canvas tem and the X, Y W, H values. Set a predefned layout to set the mage area to a predefned sze and poston. Canvas: Sets portrat or landscape orentaton for the canvas X, Y, W, H: Defnes the area where the mage/photo wll be ftted. If the values are blank, the mage area wll match the prnt sze (canvas). X: Horzontal start poston for the mage Y: Vertcal start poston for the mage W: Wdth of the mage. H: Heght of the mage Ft Mode: Frame: Allows the selecton of a frame (*.png fle) to decorate the prnt out. None: No frame s selected Frame select: Enable the lst to select the avalable frames. Rotaton: Ths value wll enable the frame rotaton functon. Ths functon has ts own setup menu to select the frames and the rotaton frequency for each frame. Text: Clck the Edt button to access the Text edt page. Valdaton: Enable/dsable - Toggle value. If Enabled, the mages sent to the HotFolder wll reman Paused untl prntng s Valdated from the Order Info page. Set: Clck Set to apply and save the changes. 20

21 SETTINGS Hotfolder settng: Text Settng Stop Servce to access ths tem Enable / Dsable: Set Enable to add text on the prnt outs. Text: Input text feld. The system has some functons to add an the name of the fle, dates, or an ndex. These functons must be wrtten between curly brackets: {NAME} = mage fle name {S_DATE}=the date the photo was taken. {P_DATE}=the prnt date, {P_TIME}=the prnt tme, {INDEX}=sequental number Index: Frst number to start the sequence usng {INDEX} Font: Type of text (Gothc 1 / Gothc 2 / P Gothc / Mcho / P Mcho ) Bold: Enable/Dsable Bold text. Italc: Enable/Dsable Italc text. Color: Opacty: 100 = Max opacty, 0 = Transparent Hghlght: Pant the text on a sold square rectangle background. - Enable/Dsable - Color: Sets the color background for the text - Shadow: Creates a shadow for the text. - Enable/Dsable - Color Layout: Varable / Top / Mddle / Bottom X: Horzontal start poston for the text (If layout = Varable) Y: Vertcal start poston for the text (If layout = Varable) W: Wdth of the text (If layout = Varable) H: Heght of the text (If layout = Varable) Algnment: Algn the horzontal poston of the text to Left / Centre / Rght. Set: Clck Set to apply and save the changes. 21

22 SETTINGS Prnt settng Stop Servce to access ths tem Auto Resume: Enable/Dsable Auto Delete: If Enable, then delete the mage fles sent to the SmartD90EV once they have been prnted. Model: Prnter devce model (CP-D90DW) Prnt Mode: Default prntng mode Gamma Table: Not n use. Color Table: Enable/Dsable color table. Sharpness H: Horzontal sharpness settng. Sharpness V: Horzontal sharpness settng. Set to default: Set default values for all tems Set: Clck Set to apply and save the changes. 22

Mode: Selects one of the lsted modes: System: Enable/Dsable the max number of copes durng an event User: Enable/Dsable the max number of copes by user durng a specfc perod of tme (n hours). 23

When preset layout s selected, llustraton of the layout s shown:.e. 5x15 Type26 Select a preset frame or mport a new frame. Import: Dsplays the frames avalable to be mported at the followng route: USB memory devce root:\\smartp\funprnt\fram e\ Delete: Delete the selected frames. System frames can not be deleted. 24

25 SETTINGS System settng Stop Servce to access ths tem Internal W-F (AP): SSID: Sets the SSID name for the prnt servce applcatons. Default name s #PhotoPrnt Pass: Sets a Password for the W-F connecton. If blank, then password s dsabled. Password must have 8 char mn. Channel: Sets the RF cannel for the Internal W-F If you set a password for the W-F, keep t n a safe and known place. If you forget ths password the system may result unusable and requre a servce acton. Internal W-F (Clent): Enable/dsable the nternal W-F clent SSID: Sets the SSID name of the network to connect. Pass: Sets a Password of the network to connect Logn Settng: admn and user names can not be changed. - admn: Set the Password to enter the admn menu. Full access to all SmartD90EV settng. User name: admn (cannot be changed) Password: admn - default value. (It can be changed) - user: Set the Password to enter the user menu. Some tems of tart page and Top menu are not avalable User name: user (cannot be changed) Password: user - default value. (It can be changed) Auto Start: Enable/Dsable. If Enable, the selected prnt servce wll start automatcally after swtch ON the SmartD90EV. If Dsabled, the SmartD90EV wll be started wth stopped servces. Auto delete: Deletes the orgnal mages and compostons after prntng. Language: Sets the default language for the EasyPrnt, FunPrnt servces and mantenance menu. Date & Tme Settng: Edt the System date & Tme Set: Clck Set to apply and save the changes. Enable Brdge mode to allow applcatons Access to Internet (.e. Hashtag Servce) 25

The Hotfolders avalable for ths servce are ID 301 to 320. Smartphone Apps settngs Enable / dsable the valdaton for the prnt orders sent from the Smart prnt App. Max sessons allowed: Max number of copes per photo. Publshed prntszes. Sets the prnt szes that wll be vsble from the Smart prnt app. Ths servce uses Hotfolder ID 300 #Hashtag servce settngs Enable/Dsable the Hashtag servce. To use #hashtag prntng servce the SmartD90EV must have access to Internet. Ths servce uses Hotfolder ID 360 Shared folders Enable/Dsable the shared folders servce User: Sets a user name for the shared folders servce Password: Sets a Password for the shared folders servce Clck Sync to apply changes after rename folders from the Hotfolder settng menu. The Hotfolders avalable for ths servce are ID 301 to

27 SETTINGS Mantenance Stop Servce to access ths tem Orgnal photo/fnshed photo Export: It allows export to an USB memory devce both the prnt orders and the orgnal mages sent to the SmartD90. A new folder named wth the SmartD90 ID wll be created. Then, nsde ths folder two addtonal folders wll contan the prnt orders and the orgnal mages. The export wll be only possble f the Auto delete s enabled. If not the prnt orders and orgnal mages wll be deleted once the prnt order s completed. Clear all: Remove all the prnt orders and the mages from the Smart Photo Prnter Servce Reset Resets the prnt lmt settngs Settng Info Export / Import Servce settngs or Servce & System settngs Export: USB root://smartpupdate 27

29 Appendx How to customze Fun Prnt web frontend 1.- Log n the mantenance web applcaton, Stop the servce, an go to the Top menu. Then follow the steps shown below to customze the Fun prnt web user frontend. Change the values of each ítem to customze the colors for background, text, buttons, ttle. Image Settng: Allow mport an mage fle to customze the user frontend page. The mage fle must be stored n the followng route of the attached USB: USB root://smartp/theme/magefle.png 29

30 Appendx SmartD90EV Upgrade procedure 1.- Download the zp fle contanng V1.5 from: -> Download 2.- Copy the downloaded SP_v1500.zp fle n a USB pen drve under the route: root:// SmartpUpdate/SP_v1500.zp (Keep Upper and Lower case letters as ndcated. Otherwse t won t work). 3.- Swtch Off the SmartD90 30

32 Appendx How to check f the SmartD90EV has Internet access Some of the SmartD90EV servces need proper Internet access. The access must be setup from the System Settngs W-F (USB /LAN) settngs. The SmartD90EV do not provde free access to Internet, but only to the DNS domans needed by the servces to work. To check f the SmartD90EV has been properly setup and connected to Internet: 1. Connect your Smartphone to the SmartD90EV SSID (Default s #PhotoPrnt) 2. Open the browser and type If you can get the ste n your smartphone, then t means that the SmartD90EV has Internet access. 32

Apply Text n EasyPrnt web servce Mantenance (admn) -> Stop Servce -> Top Menu -> HotFolder Settng -> Select the folder used by the Easy Prnt web Servce -> Text -> Clck 33

Apply prnt order valdaton (Prnt orders must be valdated from Order Info menu. Mantenance (admn) -> Stop Servce -> Top Menu -> HotFolder Settng -> Select the folder used by the prnt servce n use -> Valdaton -> Clck on Enable/Dsable toggle button to set Valdaton Enable Clck Set button to apply and save the changes Go back to Start page and start the servce 34

35 Appendx System recovery If the system doesn t start, admn password s forgotten, or any other ssue that requres a system recovery, follow these steps to restore the system to factory condton: 1.- Download the zp fle named NUC USB 1.2.zp (Recovery SmartPhotoPrnter) from: -> Download 2.- Unzp the downloaded fle NUC USB 1.2.zp and copy the full contents on the root of a USB pen drve. 35

40 Appendx Settng up a #Hashtag prnt servce 1.- Setup the SmartD90 to get Internet access. You can setup a Wreless or Wred connecton. To setup the SmartD90: Log n to the SmartD90 settngs From the Start page, clck stop servce, select Top menu and System settngs. To setup a wreless connecton to the network that wll provde Internet access: Smartphone setup to share Internet access Router as access pont to provde Internet Type SSID and Pass as s setup at the devce that provdes Internet connecton. If the router doesn t provde DHCP, then dsable DHCP at SmartD90 System settngs and type the IP provded by the router. Clck set to save changes: 40
