Release Notes ONYX VS Base ONYX VS Base General Distribution These release notes explain the enhancements and corrections made to the software in the ONYX VS/VSi Base CEU. The ONYX Base CEU is available as P/N and as part of 4 x 12 CEU P/N The new base software is identified as version Feature Enhancements Area Code Bypasses Toll Restriction When restricting toll calls using Class of Service (Program 1: "Only Local Calls (Day or Night)" or "Only Local Calls at Night" set to YES), the system will now recognize the area code "888" as a tollfree call and allow the call to proceed. Ref: EIR # Additional Enhancements 2.1 VSi Compatibility The VS system now supports VSi phones. The available equipment is as follows: Phones Station Module VMU Module AUX Card SAUX Card XAUX Card or A (same 88529A 88526A as VS system) The slave card requires software version 12. When using the VSi module, all the phones on that cabinet should be VSi phones only. Non-VSi phones can be used on the same system, but should be connected to a different KSU. 3. Software Corrections 3.1 ACD: ACD Overflow Would Not Ring Phones Previously, ACD overflow calls would flash but would not ring at any phone. With this release of software, ACD overflow calls will ring the programmed extension. Ref: EIR # Do Not Disturb: DND Override Would Not Ring Phone In the previous software version, when a user tried to override an extension s DND, the extension would not receive any ringing. In this software release, the phone in DND will now ring when it is being overridden. Ref: EIR # Page 1

Release Notes ONYX VS Base Intercom: Display Phones Indicate Wrong Extension Number In the previous software version, when an extension user with a display phone received an Intercom call, the extension number displayed would be incorrect. The display would show the extension number of the previous Intercom call. With this software release, when an extension user places an Intercom call to a display phone, the correct extension number will be displayed. Ref: EIR # Page 2

Release Notes ONYX VS Base ONYX VS Base These release notes explain the enhancements and corrections made to the software in the ONYX VS/VSi Base CEU. The ONYX Base CEU is available as P/N and as part of 4 x 12 CEU P/N The new base software is identified as version Feature Enhancements 1.1 Voice Mail: Screened Transfer to Busy Call Announcing Extension When calling a busy extension with Off Hook Call Announcing, the caller who is Camped On can be released to the Auto Attendant by the called extension. The called extension hears the off hook tones and the Auto Attendant with Voice Over sees a flashing loop key for the new call. By pressing the MSG key (with VSi phones, press the FLASH key), the called extension can refuse the new call and release the caller immediately to the Auto Attendant. If the called extension wishes to answer the call, the user can place their call on Hold by pressing the HOLD key. When the Voice Mail completes the announcement, a live transfer will occur when the voice mail hangs up. Previous software would not allow the call to be answered. It would recall to the voice mail immediately. Ref: EIR Software Corrections 2.1 DSS Console: Random Key Flashing When a keyset user presses a DSS key, the led will light to show correct In-use status. Prior to system software version 03.10, if a keyset user pressed a key on the DSS Console, keys and may flash erratically. Reference EIR: Flash: Single Line (2500) Sets Can Flash Without Writing to Memory When a single line (2500 type) set is connected to a Dual OPX or ASI, allowing the set to flash an outside line no longer requires writing to the system memory. By enabling CP - Inhibit Flash for Single Line Sets (BY2:6) (0=enabled), single line sets can flash an outside line by pressing the hookflash and dialing a page zone (1* - 6 *, or 8 *). Single line (2500 type) sets can page to any page zone other than zone 6 (7*). Zone 6 is not available to single line sets. 2.3 Mic Mute: With VSi Keysets, Mute Key Lights But Feature Does Not Work With this software release, the Mic Mute feature will function correctly on VSi keysets. Previously on VSi keysets, when enabling the Mic Mute feature while on a handsfree call, the system would not mute the call completely. The conversation would be clipped which would allow part of the conversation to be heard by the caller. This will no longer occur with this software release. 2.4 Toll Restriction: Caller ID Codes (*67 and *82) Allowed The *67 and *82 codes are used to block Caller ID information. In prior software, with Toll Restriction enabled, a user could dial *67 or *82 and possibly bypass Toll Restriction. With this software release, an extension with Toll Restriction enabled will not be able to dial * or # without being disconnected and will not be able to bypass Toll Restriction. 3

Release Notes ONYX VS Base Year 2000 Compatibility Programming the system through the telephone or a terminal will accept the year 2000 and above. In addition, leap years will also maintain a correct date after February 28th to the year

The main screen displays the software version as F Toll Restriction: Additional Toll-Free Prefixes Added The system will now recognize the following area codes as toll-free numbers and will follow any applicable system programming for Toll Restriction
