2 Overview Users can now move their Outlook accounts from their old PC to the Mac Entourage program using the migration software. This section is designed to introduce and walk through a standard migration. Migrating will involve some simple step by step procedures. Migration Software Outlook to Entourage will securely convert the Outlook PST file on the PC into a format that can be imported into the Entourage program. This conversion process allows for all s, attachments, contacts, and calendar items in the PST file to be converted into a single format. This format is then transferred to the Mac computer and imported using Entourage s normal import feature. Outlook to Entourage will transfer all of the following types of files: s Attachments Calendar Items Contacts Outlook to Entourage allows a quick and easy transfer of , contacts, and calendar from an old PC to Entourage on Mac. Outlook to Entourage makes the Entourage account contain all the data as the old Outlook account only on a Mac. Before running the migration from the old to new system, you must first run through a series of checks. The old computer needs to meet some minimum criteria prior to the migration software installation. 3 1

3 System Requirements In order to run this software the PC must meet the following requirements: Outlook 2000 or newer Windows 2000 or newer Pentium processor or higher 32 MB of Ram Available PC to Mac transfer method Application Loading The software does not transfer or install the Outlook or Entourage program. The Entourage application should be loaded and initialized so your s, contacts and calendar can be migrated to the new Mac. This will require you to have the original installation CD or the application pre loaded on the Mac. Since there is major software licensing issues involved, you should always use the authorized installation disks. Software Installation The migration process will begin by installing the migration software. Outlook to Entourage is only installed on the PC. You will then be instructed on how to import this data into Entourage. Below are the step by step instructions for installing the software on to the PC. 3 2

4 PC Install from Download Link Step 1 Double click the download link in your to download Outlook to Entourage. Step 2 Select the Save File button and save the ConvertMy Beta.exe file to your desktop. Step 3 Outlook to Entourage Setup file will now be displayed on the desktop. Double click the ConvertMy Beta file to begin the install of Outlook to Entourage. 3 3

5 PC Install from Download Link (cont d) Step 4 Outlook to Entourage will now start the Setup Wizard. At the Welcome window select the Next button. Step 5 At the License Agreement window select the I Agree button. Step 6 Select the Install location or use the default location chosen by Outlook to Entourage. Then click Next. 3 4

6 PC Install from Download Link (cont d) Step 7 Outlook to Entourage will then ask if where you would like the shortcuts stored for the software. To use the default location, select the Install button. Step 8 Outlook to Entourage will now install to your computer. Step 9 Outlook to Entourage will then state the installation is complete. Select the Finish button. 3 5

7 Migration Process on the PC Step 1 Outlook to Entourage has now created an icon on your desktop. Double click the Outlook to Entourage icon to begin the migration. Step 2 Outlook to Entourage will now welcome you to Convert My . Select the Start button. For advanced options (export only , Contacts or Calendar Items) select Advanced and go to Advanced Options Migration on the PC, page 3 8. Step 3 Outlook to Entourage will now ask for the activation code. Enter the activation key included in the and click Next. Step 4 If the activation code is correct Outlook to Entourage will pop up saying the activation is successful. 3 6

8 Migration Process on the PC (cont d) Step 5 Outlook to Entourage is now ready to export your Outlook account. Select Next to begin. Step 6 Outlook to Entourage will now export the Outlook data to an Outlook.rge folder on the desktop. Step 7 When Outlook to Entourage completes it will tell you that it was successful. All of the Outlook data has now been successfully exported to the Outlook.rge folder on the desktop. Click Finish to close Outlook to Entourage. 3 7

9 Migration Process on the PC (cont d) Step 8 When Outlook to Entourage completes it will create an Outlook.rge folder on the PC desktop. Please ZIP this folder and then transfer it to the Mac desktop. For Migration Process on the New Mac, please go to page

10 Advanced Options Migration on the PC Step 1 For advanced options (export only , Contacts or Calendar Items) select the Advanced button. Step 2 Outlook to Entourage will ask which items you would like to export. Select the items and click Next. Step 3 If Export was selected, Outlook to Entourage will ask which folders to export. Select the desired folders and click Next. 3 9

11 Migration Process on the PC (cont d) Step 4 Outlook to Entourage is now ready to transfer your selected Outlook data. Click Next. Step 5 Outlook to Entourage will now export the Outlook data to an Outlook.rge folder on the desktop. Step 6 When Outlook to Entourage completes it will tell you that it was successful. All of the Outlook data has now been successfully exported to the Outlook.rge folder on the desktop. Click Finish to close Outlook to Entourage. 3 10

12 Migration Process on the PC (cont d) Step 7 When Outlook to Entourage completes it will create an Outlook.rge folder on the PC desktop. Please ZIP this folder and then transfer it to the Mac desktop. For Migration Process on the New Mac, please go to page

13 Migration Process on the New Mac Step 1 Transfer the Outlook.rge folder to the Mac s desktop. This will create an Outlook.rge file on the Mac desktop. Step 2 Start the Entourage program. Step 3 To start the import, select Import from the File drop down menu. Step 4 At the Begin Import menu, select Entourage information from an archive or earlier version and click the purple arrow in the bottom right corner. 3 12

14 Migration Process on the New Mac (cont d) Step 5 At the Choose an Application menu, select Entourage archive (.rge) and click the purple arrow in the bottom right corner. Step 6 Entourage will now ask to select the.rge file to import. Select Outlook.rge from the Desktop. And then select the Import button to begin the import. Step 7 Entourage will now import the data. 3 13

15 Migration Process on the New Mac (cont d) Step 8 When the import is complete, select Done. Step 9 Go to in Entourage. The Outlook account will be imported under the Outlook.RGE folder. Expand the folder to view your Inbox and other folders. You will now be able to move your folders to the Inbox or their desired location. 3 14

16 Migration Process on the New Mac (cont d) Step 10 Go to Address Book in Entourage. All of the Contacts from your Outlook account will be shown. Step 11 Go to Calendar in Entourage. All of the Calendar Items from your Outlook account will be imported. Outlook to Entourage has now successfully moved your s, Contacts and Calendar to the New Mac. 3 15

17 Frequently Asked Questions Outlook to Entourage will not move all of my s. This error usually occurs if you are attempting to move Outlook Express to the Entourage software. This software will only transfer Outlook accounts into Entourage. Outlook to Entourage moves my Calendar, Contacts and folder structure for my account but there are no s in the folders. This error usually occurs if the RGE file is being corrupted during the transfer to the Mac, please follow these steps to make the full transfer: 1) ZIP the Outlook.RGE folder on the PC desktop 2) Transfer the ZIPPED Outlook.RGE folder to the Mac desktop 3) Unzip and import the Outlook.RGE file into Entourage 3 16
