5 Before You Start Precautions As these precautions are provided for the correct use of the product as well as user safety, be sure to familiarize yourself with them. The company will not be held responsible for any accident that may occur due to the failure to heed these precautions. The following information applies commonly to all products manufactured and produced by COWON SYSTEMS, Inc. + Do not use this product for other purposes than those described in this manual. + Prohibit the use of this machine in gas stations and other explosive hazardous areas. + Do not attempt to disassemble the product. Disassembly will void the warranty and the unit will be permanently disqualified from any warranty services. + Refrain from operating the product while driving. It may cause a car accident. + This product is exclusively for DC 12V use. Do not use this product on DC 24V cars. + The efficiency of air purification may decrease when used in spacious cars or in cars with opened windows. + Avoid high temperatures or a place with direct sunlight. It may contain the heat inside the product, resulting in an exterior deformation or a fire. + Do not put your fingers or any other foreign substance in the air inlets and outlets of the product. + Do not drop or expose the product to hard impact. This may result in malfunctions and/or unit failure, voiding the warranty. + Please use the genuine cigar jack cable offered by COWON. + The shutting-down of the car engine while the product is on operation can cause malfunction of the product. Make sure you switch OFF the product before you turn off your car engine. + Caution: When connected to the cigar jack socket, the product may heat up. + When not in use separate the cigar jack cable from the socket. + When you notice any malfunctioning symptoms please stop using the product immediately and get in contact with your retailer. + Be careful not to be torn or ruptured by any sharp materials, such as animals teeth. + Do not expose the product to water or keep it in a damp or humid location for an extended period of time. If the product is damaged from moisture as described above, product failure is then classified as a user s misuse. + Touching the product with wet hands may cause damages and malfunctions. Handle the power plug only with dry hands (otherwise an electric shock may occur). + When using the product there can be an outbreak of ozone in small quantity which is similar to the amount that is present in nature. + When allergic reaction is experienced, stop using the product immediately. + Use the product with the windows closed. However, using it in an enclosed space for a long period of time can cause high level of carbon dioxide so please make sure to ventilate the enclosed space from time to time. + Do not use this filter for any other purposes. 7 Basic Use Names of Parts and Functions Names of Parts Functions 1 Power LED Pressing the power button will turn the Red LED on. 2 Forest Air LED For Forest Air mode, Green LED will be turned on. 3 Wind Speed Button Wind speed can be controlled from HIGH to LOW. 1) 4 Power / Forest Air Mode Button Power ON/OFF : Pressing the button for long time will turn ON/OFF the power. Forest Air Mode ON/OFF : When the power is ON, pressing the power button shortly will turn ON/OFF the Forest Air Mode. 5 Auto Mode Button The wind speed will be automatically controlled according to the air pollution level detected within the car. 6 Auto Mode LED For Auto Mode, Blue LED will be turned on. 7 Filter Exchange Alarm LED When filter exchange is needed Orange LED will be turned on. 8 Air Purifier LED According to the air pollution level, the LED color will change. (Green Good, Blue Normal, Red Bad) 9 Power Interface Connect the cigar jack cable to the power supply interface. 10 Air Outlet Discharges clean air purified from the filter. 11 Air Quality Detection Sensor Automatically detects all sorts of harmful gases inside the car. 12 Air Inlet Sucks in fine dust and harmful gases present in the car. 13 Installation Register Mark When exchanging filters, make sure to assemble/separate the product in tune with the installation register mark. 14 Wiring Trough of Power Line Power line cable can be fixed by inserting into a wiring trough. 1) Wind speed control button will not operate when the product is on Auto Mode. As warranty service is only available from within the country where the products were originally purchased, you may be required to ship products, at your expense, to the authorized service center for the country where the products were purchased. COWON will repair or replace products if they fail to function properly during the warranty period, subject to any conditions and/or limitations stated here in. Warranty Coverage COWON warrants products and accessories against defects for a period of one year and three months respectively from the date of original purchase. If a defect arises and a valid claim is received by COWON within the Warranty Period, at its option, COWON will repair or replace the product without charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts. But the shipping expense may be required to be paid according to the region and the warranty service may take longer if service parts are not available. Exclusions and Limitations This warranty does not apply when failure is due to shipping damage, accident, alteration, modification, unauthorized service, misuse, abuse, use with incompatible accessories or attachments (such as third party s service parts or accessories), failure to follow COWON s operation, maintenance or repacking instructions, failure to use items supplied by COWON (such as adapters and cables), or claims made after the duration of this warranty, and failure with the serial number which is altered, defaced or removed, and natural calamity, force majeure, unforeseeable accidents and any other external factors beyond the control of COWON. COWON makes no other warranties, express, implied, or of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose for products. Note : Before you deliver your product for warranty service it is your responsibility to backup all data, including all software programs.
