10. UPDATING THE FIRMWARE Follow the procedure below to update the firmware by using a micro SD card. 1. Download the firmware update and decompress it if necessary. 2.

9 10. UPDATING THE FIRMWARE Follow the procedure below to update the firmware by using a micro SD card. 1. Download the firmware update and decompress it if necessary. 2. Format the micro SD card on a PC. 3. Copy the firmware files to the micro SD card. 4. Set the recording lock on the micro SD card by moving the locking tab away from the connector side. 5. Power on the DR.920 then insert the micro SD card. 6. Select UPDATE then press the to confirm. 7. The LCD screen will display the image seen below during the firmware installation process. 8. When the update process is completed the LCD screen will be black. 9. Disconnected the DR.920 from power. If you will be using the same micro SD card, remove the micro SD card and remove the recording lock by sliding the locking tab away from the connector, then insert the micro SD card. After 10 seconds re-connect the DR.920 to power. Format the micro SD card. The DR.920 will reboot into normal operation with the updated firmware. Tap the DR.920 on the side to deactivate this warning and continue recording. *** Please shake DR.920 to close the warning*** + + Blinking and Warning Buzzer starts: After 20/30/40 minutes of no vibration, the buzzer will be heard in addition to the blinking LEDs. This indicates the DR.920 is about to turn itself off to prevent the loss of stored data. The above can occur during two conditions: 1. The vehicle continues to supply power to the cigarette light after the ignition is turned off. 2. 11 12. APPENDIX 12.1 Troubleshooting 1. Incapable of recording Check the power supply if it connects to the DR.920 Check the micro SD Memory Card if it puts into the SD Card slot. 2. Power on DR.920 but without AUTO recording Please check if you put the SD Card into the SD Card slot before you power on DR.920. Press the REC button to start recording if the DR.920 is in standby mode. Please check if the micro SD card is damaged. 3. Stop Recording Buzzer Warning LED Indicator Flashing Lose the Efficiency of Button Function When the vehicle engine is off but power continues to be supplied to the DR.920 for 20/30/40 minutes, the DR.920 will emit warning signals by flashing the LEDs and activating the buzzer. It will then turn off to prevent stored data from being overwritten. If this occurs, the DR.920 must be reset to ensure proper operation for the next driving session. To return to normal mode: (1) Remove DR.920 from power over 10 seconds then re-connect to power. (2) Press the Reset by using a pin. 4. If the DR.920 freezes during normal operation, perform the above (1) + (2) steps Playback Software The following programs can be used to playback the files from the micro SD card on your PC.
