Versin 2.3 prvides the multi-zne layut feature, prviding up t eight znes t play varius media files n ne display. In additin t templates, users can als custmize their wn templates fr efficient and targeted deplyment Befre ging thrugh with the SA1000 r SA2000 evaluatin, please make sure that yu fllw the requirements belw: Required equipments: (1) Internet cnnectin (2) SA1000 and/r SA2000 appliance (3) 17 r abve LCD mnitr (preferably wide screen t shw 16 x 9 aspect rati presentatin) (4) PC r Laptp t cnnect t Cntent Manager Server n the web thrugh Internet Explrer In certain instances yu might have als received the fllwing infrmatin frm yur reseller r DT Research Accunt Representative (an nline evaluatin prgram is nly ffered in certain cuntries): (1) UserID (2) Passwrd (3) Organizatin The SA1000 prduct packaging cntains the fllwing: (1) 1 x SA1000 player appliance (2) 1 x DVI t VGA cnnectr (3) 1 x Pwer adapter The SA2000 prduct packaging cntains the fllwing: (1) 1 x SA2000 player appliance (2) 1 x Pwer adapter Cnnecting yur SA1000 Signage Appliance The SA1000 cmes with built in DVI cnnectrs fr mst regular LCD mnitrs in the market tday. If yur LCD mnitr nly has a VGA cnnectr then please use the included DVI t VGA cnnectr as shwn belw. Cnnecting yur SA2000 Signage Appliance Page 2

3 3 SA1000 / SA2000 WebDT Cntent Manager 2.3 Quick Start Guide The SA2000 cmes with built in VGA as well as HDMI utput. Cnnect the apprpriate utput t the LCD mnitr. Prceed t hk up a USB muse and Keybard t the unit (There are a ttal f 4 USB prts n the SA1000 and 2 USB prts n the SA2000). Then hk up yur RJ-45 Internet Cable t the SA unit and finally hk up the Pwer Supply Adapter t the unit last. (Picture shwn next page shws yu an example) **Nte** This sectin is nly applicable if yu have an SA1000 unit If yu have previusly cnnected an LCD mnitr thrugh the VGA prt and then later n decide t utilize the DVI prt, please fllw the steps belw in rder t enable the DVI prt n the SA1000 again. 1. First cnnect the SA1000 back t the riginal VGA LCD mnitr and prceed t press Cntrl+Shift+Space t exit the sftware screen. 2. Mve yur muse t the bttm right crner f the screen and right click n the S3TrayPlus Utility Icn. (Picture shwn belw). Page 3

Prceed t click n S3Display and check the DVI bx and then hit Apply fllwed by clicking n OK when presented with a windw. 5. Next click n the Mnitr tab and prceed t uncheck Hide mdes that this mnitr cannt display and keep the Screen refresh rate at 60 Hertz. Hit apply and press Ok t accept the setting. Page 4

If yu dn t see the Player Registratin screen, please use the muse t launch the prgram by fllwing these steps: Start -> All Prgrams > DT Research > WCM Player > Register Player Again Please register with the fllwing infrmatin (Again, nte they are all case sensitive): Player Name: Leave it at default r change it t a meaningful name Grup Name: Yu can leave this blank fr nw (the grup name will be created in Step 2 belw) Organizatin Name: Same as Organizatin frm The DTRI yu received Passwrd: Publish Server URL: (This is just an example. Dn t change the default) If yur cmpany has a prxy server, please click n the dwn arrw key and prceed t punch in the crrect prxy server address as well as the crrespnding user name / passwrd cmbinatin. 6 6 SA1000 / SA2000 WebDT Cntent Manager 2.3 Quick Start Guide If the Player registratin is successful, yu will get the fllwing status screen belw, please nte the Player Name because yu will need this fr the next step If yu are having difficulty getting past the lgin screen, please read the Failed t register message presented t yu and check whether yu have entered the crrect passwrd and rganizatin name. Remember, they are all case sensitive. Page 6

Anther thing t check is t make sure that: 1. The SA bx is setup fr aut IP cnfiguratin with a built in DHCP client. Make sure yur internal netwrk has a DHCP server setup prperly. 2. If yu are still having netwrk difficulty, check with yur lcal System Administratr fr a valid Internal IP Address Lgin t the WebDT Cntent Manager Server in rder t manage yur digital cntent T manage cntent fr playing thrugh the players, please access (This site is just an example. Please use the site that is specified in the sent t yu by a DT Research r its reseller representative.) 8 8 SA1000 / SA2000 WebDT Cntent Manager 2.3 Quick Start Guide T start ff, please d the fllwing: a) Pick yur player as the preview player fr viewing medias and playlists Click Accunt management n the left panel (Under System) Under Accunt, duble click n Manager and prceed t select yur lgin name Pick the Player Name (Page 3) frm the Preview Player drp dwn list b) Create a player grup and assign a player t the grup Click Player/Grup n the left panel Click New Grup (tp menu) and enter the Grup Name then click OK Nw, click n the grup that yu just created Click Assign Player (tp menu) Add a Player frm the Nt Assigned t the grup c) Uplad yur media Page 8

9 9 SA1000 / SA2000 WebDT Cntent Manager 2.3 Quick Start Guide Click Management n the left menu and then select Media n the left panel Click New in rder t uplad ne media file at a time Yu can ignre the Name text field as it will be autmatically ppulated with the name f the file yu uplad Click Brwse and select a media file t be upladed (a few accepted frmats are.avi,.mv,.ppt,.swf (flash),.jpg,.gif, etc) It s als imprtant that yu lad the crrect media t the crrect flder. Fr instance static images shuld be laded under /Media/Image while everything else including PwerPint, Flash, Web URLs shuld be laded under the /Media/Multimedia sectin. Click Batch Uplad if yu have quite a few files t uplad If yu want t preview any media n the Player Sftware, highlight the media and then click n Preview n the tp right crner Watch as yur media is being displayed n the PC with the Media Player Sftware installed Media Cntent Management In the Media sub-sectin, there are three pre-defined media flders- Image, Audi, Multimedia, Real time vide and Executable applicatin. In each flder, yu can create sub-flders t save upladed media files. WebDT Cntent Manager supprts the fllwing media types and frmats. WebDT Cntent Server 2.3 supprts ne single executable applicatin zne per template An image r multimedia file will be scaled t full screen size when played, except the PwerPint files. Fllw the steps belw: 1. Open the PwerPint file with Micrsft PwerPint applicatin. 2. Select File/Page Setup menu ptin. 3. Adjust the width/ height f the slide t match the reslutin f the display f the player. 4. Click OK and save the file. Nte Sme media files may have small variances cmpared t standard files. We strngly recmmend yu preview the cntent befre publishing it t ensure the media plays crrectly n the player d) Create a ticker (ptinal) Page 10

12 12 SA1000 / SA2000 WebDT Cntent Manager 2.3 Quick Start Guide If yu need mre infrmatin, please click Help at any time f) Experimenting with a playlist Click Management > Playlist n the left panel Click New > New Playlist If yu wuld like t have a multi zne display, select a template Enter a name fr the Playlist Select a zne under the Template View then click Media t add a media file t the highlighted zne (remember yu can click n each zne and uplad a separate media file t each) Finally, click Preview t view the playlist n yur PC g) Schedule the playlist and publish it Page 12

13 13 SA1000 / SA2000 WebDT Cntent Manager 2.3 Quick Start Guide Click Scheduling n the left panel Click yur Grup Click n a date and time yu wuld like t start Pick a playlist and click the t add the playlist Click n the icn t enter start end date time and recurrence, then save it and clse the windw Finally click n Publish t publish the playlist at the selected date/time When we reached the scheduled date/time, the player will start dwnlading and playing the cntent autmatically. The dwnlad may take a while depending n yur upladed media size and playlist. h) Experimenting with Urgent Cast Urgent Cast is a unique feature built in t the Web Cntent Manager that allws administratrs f the WebDT Systems t bradcast urgent messages thrughut all r selected panels at the same time. Yu can access the Urgent Cast feature by clicking n the Urgent Cast link under the Systems menu. Page 13

14 14 SA1000 / SA2000 WebDT Cntent Manager 2.3 Quick Start Guide Start by selecting a grup that yu wish t bradcast the same message t (Yu can als click n Grup instead f any individual gruping if yu wish t bradcast t all players). Type yur urgent message under the Text field. Yu can als cut and paste nt that sectin. Type in duratin in secnds. Yu can als change the speed, psitin, fnt and backgrund clr at this pint if yu wish. Select a backgrund audi r select sme multimedia cntent at this pint if yu wish. Click n preview t have this displayed n yur pre selected media player. Once yu are satisfied with the result, click n Publish t make this urgent bradcast message effective immediately. Security and Netwrk Cnsideratin The WebDT Cntent Manager sftware hsted thrugh DT Research currently utilizes the VeriSign Class 3 Secure server SSL Certificate, as such yur lgin authenticatin infrmatin is securely transmitted ver the Internet t a server hsted by DT Research. 15 15 SA1000 / SA2000 WebDT Cntent Manager 2.3 Quick Start Guide Picture shws the VeriSign Class 3 Secure Certificate Public and Private Keys t Privacy An SSL Certificate cnsists f a public key and a private key. The public key is used t encrypt infrmatin and the private key is used t decipher it. When a Web brwser pints t a secured dmain, a Secure Sckets Layer handshake authenticates the server (Web site) and the client (Web brwser). An encryptin methd is established with a unique sessin key.
