It contains information that explains the X Series Storage products and features within the Canvas program. 4 Once you click on the X Series Storage tab, you will see a main component tab with products and options for the X Series Storage system. This component tab is shown on the following page and provides an overview of what is included for the X Series Storage product line. s included are storage units, casegoods, pulls, and various material options. Storage In the Storage section, you will find products and options to plan storage components within your workstation. The variety of products available offers planning flexibility along with multiple function and aesthetic options. 7 X Series Storage Mobile Pedestals JPMH, JPMJ, and JPMA (18", 24", and 30" deep) 2-3 Drawers This 15"-wide mobile pedestal has three depths and numerous drawer layouts. It has a steel case, casters, and a finished back and top. Depth Drawer Layout Tug: Includes a handle for moving the pedestal. Cushion: Not available on 29"- deep pedestal. For 17"- and 23"-Deep Pedestals For 29"-Deep Pedestal Suspended Pedestals JPHH, JPHJ, and JPHA (18" and 24" deep) 2-3 Drawers This 15"-wide suspended pedestal has two depths, numerous drawer layouts, and a steel case. Depth Drawer Layout Attached Pedestals JPAH and JPAJ (18", 24", and 30" deep) 2-3 Drawers This 15"-wide, 15 ½"-high pedestal attaches under a worksurface and also sits on the floor. 8 X Series Storage Lateral Files JLPD (30", 36", and 41" width) 2-5 High This lateral file can be used freestanding or attached under a worksurface. Height Legs Counterweight Inset: Standard depth is 18 3/4". Inset depth is 18". Leg Option Counterweight Option Once the product is placed, make the following changes or selections from the Green Edit Box: Height Counterweight Inset Common/File Top Common/File Top Options Lateral File Bench This 30"-wide lateral file has a 12"- high case with one lateral file drawer. It has a hinged, cushioned lid; translucent front; and four legs. No Input or Edit Boxes Bookcases JBCS (30", 36", and 41" width) 2 5 High This 14"-deep bookcase has adjustable shelves and glides. 9 X Series Storage Combination Units This combination unit can be used freestanding or attached under a worksurface. It is 27 1/2" high, 18 3/4" deep, and 27 7/8" wide. These units include configurations with open shelves, box and file drawers, lateral file drawers, and door units. Layout: Specify as follows: o Open Shelf: One open shelf and one lateral file drawer. o F/B/B/Lat: File/box/box drawers and one lateral file drawer. o Door/B/B/F: Door unit left; box/box/file right. o Door/F/F/: Door unit left; file/file right. o B/B/F/Lat: Box/box/file drawers and one lateral file drawer. o B/B/F/Door: Box/box/file left; door right. o F/F/Door: File/file left; door right. 10 X Series Storage Combination Unit JCPV, JCPY, and JCPX (30", 36", and 42" width) 3 5 High This freestanding combination unit is 18 3/4" deep. The units include one or more lateral file drawers and an upper door unit. Height Drawers: Select for 2-high unit only. 11 X Series Storage Personal Storage Towers This storage tower is 23" deep and 24" wide. It is available in a variety of storage component layouts. 2-6 High Height Drawer Layout Valet Side Storage/Bookcase: Not available on the 2- or 3-high storage towers. 12 X Series Storage Storage Cabinet JSPY (30", 36", and 42" width) 2 5 High This storage cabinet is 18 3/4" deep. It has 2 hinged doors, a shelf or shelves, and adjustable glides. Height o 2 High: 27 1/2" o 3 High: 39 1/2" o 4 High: 51 1/2" o 5 High: 63 1/2" Touch Latch Wardrobe JWPC (30", 36", and 42" width) 4 5 High This storage cabinet is 18 3/4" deep. It has 2 hinged doors, a shelf, a coat rod, and adjustable glides. Height o 4 High: 51 1/2" o 5 High: 63 1/2" Touch Latch Combination Unit with Valet (30" and 42" width) 5 High This storage unit is 18 3/4" deep. It has a valet cabinet on the left or right side, a storage unit with door, a combination of box and/or file drawers, and adjustable glides. 13 X Series Storage Remove Canvas function to remove storage components (any component within the X Series Storage tab). No Input/Edit Boxes Click on the X icon and move to the drawing area. Click on the storage component(s) you want to remove. Unit 2: X Series Storage s and Options 12

14 Casegoods In the Casegoods section, you will find worksurface and storage products and options. The Casegoods section includes pedestal desks, shells, credenzas, bridges, wrap-around surfaces (with or without pedestals), returns, convergents, vertical storage units, and task lighting. Casegoods Tab X Series Casegoods Double Pedestal Desk This casegood has left and right steel pedestals, painted or wood fronts, and adjustable glides. Executive: Worksurface top overhangs on the front and sides. Depth: o Standard depths are 24" and 30" o Executive depths are 30" and 36" Modesty Surface Front Left Pedestal Right Pedestal For Standard Desk For Executive Desk Unit 2: X Series Storage s and Options 13

15 X Series Casegoods Single Pedestal Desk This casegood has a left or right steel pedestal, a painted or wood front, and adjustable glides. Executive: Worksurface top overhangs on the front and sides. Depth: o Standard depths are 24" and 30" o Executive depths are 30" and 36" Modesty Surface: For executive desk. Front Pedestal Side Left or Right Pedestal Configuration For Standard Desk For Executive Desk Desk Shell This 29"-high shell can accept an attaching lateral file or storage unit. It includes adjustable glides. Executive: 6" overhang on visitor s side for conferencing. 16 X Series Casegoods Credenza This 29"-high credenza is 24" wide and is available in a combination of lateral files, pedestals, and storage units. It is used freestanding or can be placed inside a desk shell. For 60"-Wide Credenza Touch Latch: For the Storage Units only. Drawer Layout o 60" wide: 3 layouts. o 66" wide: Layout is File/File on each end and storage unit in the middle. o 72" wide: 3 layouts. Top/Front: Surface materials for the top and file/storage unit fronts. Front Style: Choose this for Painted fronts. Wood Lockbar: Option for Wood fronts. For 66"-Wide Credenza For 72"-Wide Credenza Bridge This bridge connects two freestanding X Series units and has a laminate or wood surface. 17 X Series Casegoods Curved Wrap- Around Extended with Pedestal This 29"-high casegood has a curved wrap-around surface, a steel pedestal on one end, and adjustable glides. The top surface and pedestal front can be laminate or wood. Attach this product to an adjoining casegood. Modesty Surface: Laminate or Wood. Pedestal Side Front: Choose this for Painted fronts. Wood Lockbar: Option for Wood fronts. Left or Right Pedestal Configuration For Laminate Surface For Wood Surface Curved Wrap- Around Extended with Full End Panel This 29"-high laminate casegood has a curved wrap-around surface, full end panels, and adjustable glides. This product is designed for use with 18"-deep pedestals. Attach this product to an adjoining casegood. Modesty Handed: When facing the inside of the wrap-around, specify as follows: o Left: Longer width is on the left-hand side. o Right: Longer width is on the right-hand side. The top surface and pedestal front can be laminate or wood. Attach this product to an adjoining casegood. Modesty Surface: Laminate or Wood. Pedestal Side Front: Choose this for Painted fronts. Wood Lockbar: Option for Wood fronts. Left or Right Pedestal Configuration For Laminate Surface For Wood Surface Curved Wrap- Around Extended Transitional with Full End Panel This 29"-high casegood has a curved wrap-around laminate surface, full end panels, and adjustable glides. It is designed for use with 18"-deep pedestals. Attach this product to an adjoining casegood. 19 X Series Casegoods Return (with Pedestal) This casegood has a left or right steel pedestal, a laminate or wood surface, and adjustable glides. It attaches to a single pedestal desk, corner unit, or convergent with end panel. Modesty Surface Wood Lockbar: Option for Wood fronts. Pedestal Side Front: Choose this for Painted fronts. Left or Right Pedestal Configuration For Laminate Surface For Wood Surface From the Green Edit Box, make the VSU Side: VSU is on the opposite side of the pedestal. VSU Application Unit 2: X Series Storage s and Options 18

20 X Series Casegoods Return Case This case has a laminate or wood surface, full end panel on one side, and adjustable glides. It attaches to a single pedestal desk, corner unit, or convergent with end panel. It can be used with an 18"-deep mobile pedestal. Modesty Surface Handed: When facing the inside of the return case, specify as follows: o Left: Full end panel is on the left-hand side. o Right: Full end panel is on the right-hand side. From the Green Edit Box, make the Wood Lockbar: Option for Wood fronts. VSU Side: VSU is on the opposite side of the end panel. VSU Application Convergent with End Panel This convergent surface has a laminate or wood surface and full end panel. It must attach to a bridge or return. 21 X Series Casegoods Curved Wrap- Around D This curved surface with a convergent end has a laminate or wood surface and modesty panel. It must attach to an adjoining casegood. Length Modesty Handed: When facing the inside of the wrap-around, specify as follows: o o Left: Convergent end is extended on the lefthand side. Right: Convergent end is extended on the righthand side. Corner This corner surface has a straight edge across the corner, a laminate or wood surface, a modesty panel, and adjustable glides. Both sides must attach to an adjoining casegood. Modesty Curved Wrap- Around Corner This corner surface has a curved edge across the corner, a laminate or wood surface, a modesty panel, and adjustable glides. 22 X Series Casegoods Curved Wrap- Around Extended Corner This 29"-high casegood has a wraparound laminate surface that extends on one end and adjustable glides. It has a curved edge across the corner. The corner surface is designed for use with 18"-deep pedestals. Attach this product to an adjoining casegood. Modesty Handed: When facing the inside of the wrap-around, specify as follows: o Left: Extended corner is on the left-hand side. o Right: Extended corner is on the right-hand side. Vertical Storage Unit This storage unit is 34" high and 14" deep and mounts on a desk or credenza top. The 48"- and 60"-wide units have one tackboard; 66"- and 72"-wide units have two tackboards. For Open Storage Option : o 48"-wide units have one door and a lock. o 60"-, 66"-, and 72"-wide units have two doors and a lock. Storage: o Open Storage o Closed Storage: Choose laminate or wood flipper door material. Free Place: Canvas function to place the unit freely within the work space. When this box is checked, Canvas will not take into consideration the rules of where this product can sit. For Closed Storage Option Unit 2: X Series Storage s and Options 21

24 Pulls In the Pulls section, you will find several pull options to use on X Series Storage. There are a variety of style, finish, and compatibility options. These pull options are shown below. 25 Front Style Use the Front Style feature to change the painted style pattern or to change your wood color. Front Style Tab X Series Front Style Option Dialog Boxes Painted Canvas button for choosing a solid painted front or one of three perforated front styles. Wood Click on the black arrow and choose your wood material and color for the front of your X Series storage component. Unit 2: X Series Storage s and Options 24

26 Schemes In the Schemes section, you can select options, materials, and finishes for application to all or selected X Series Storage products within your workstation. This saves time and creates consistency. Schemes can be used and saved for: Specific clients and used for multiple installations Color/finish schemes Global changes For additional information on creating and applying Schemes, see Unit 4a (Canvas, Working with Haworth Furniture) in the CET Designer Reference Guide. There are two Scheme options for X Series products: X Series Storage: Use when applying the same options and finishes to multiple storage components or entire work spaces. X Series Casegoods: Use when applying the same options and finishes to multiple casegoods or entire work spaces. Schemes Tab Unit 2: X Series Storage s and Options 25

27 X Series Storage Schemes Option Dialog Boxes Haworth Scheme Manager for X Series Storage Scheme Manager dialog box with many options for X Series Storage products. In the Scheme Manager dialog box, select the Properties for this particular scheme (our example shows a client scheme for ABC Design). Once you have made your selections, click Apply, and Save your scheme. Another scheme option is to save a color/finish scheme. For example, save a Graphite finish scheme. Select the graphite finish Properties, name the scheme, and click on Save. These same finishes can be used for multiple clients and projects. Unit 2: X Series Storage s and Options 26

29 Cabinet Material In the Cabinet Material section, there are four material options that are primarily used for accent colors on X Series Storage cabinets. These material options are shown below. C D Fabric VSU Bracket Click on the ellipsis ( ) to get a list of materials and colors. Use this to select or change the material and colors to be applied. The Material Select box lists choices for the type of material you have selected. 30 Top Materials In the Top Materials section, there are four material options that are primarily used for accent colors within your drawing. These material options are shown below. 31 Translucent Material In the Translucent Material section, you can select an accent color or pattern to be used in your drawing. An example of the translucent option is shown below. Click on the ellipsis ( ) to get a list of translucent colors and patterns. Use this to select or change the color or pattern to be applied. The Material Select box lists translucent options. 32 UNIT 3: X SERIES STORAGE TIPS AND TRICKS X Series Storage Reference Manual The following chart covers helpful tips as you navigate through the Canvas program and design with the X Series Storage products. X SERIES STORAGE Suspended Pedestals Combination Units Tips and Tricks Suspended pedestals must attach under a worksurface equal to or deeper than the pedestal depth specified. Suspended pedestals can only be used with RACE, UniGroup, UniGroup Too, and PLACES. Suspended pedestals are not for use with steel casegoods. Suspended pedestals are not for use with 18"-deep worksurfaces with knife edge. Attached units must attach under a worksurface 20" or deeper. Attached units are not for use with 18"-deep worksurfaces with knife edge. Combination Units (JCPV, JCPY, JCPX) 30"-, 36"-, and 42"-wide 3 5 High X SERIES CASEGOODS Counterweight option recommended for files that are not ganged together or are not anchored to a fixed object.
