4 What is the Avigiln Cntrl Center Virtual Matrix? The Avigiln Cntrl Center Virtual Matrix sftware is an ptinal Enterprise Editin feature that allws yu t cntrl hw vide is mnitred acrss multiple displays. The Virtual Matrix sftware is used t cnnect a system with multiple mnitrs t the Avigiln Cntrl Center system. Once cnnected, yu can cntrl what is displayed n each f the linked mnitrs thrugh any instance f the Avigiln Cntrl Center Client sftware. This includes chsing the cameras that are displayed, setting the View layut, and displaying maps, web pages and alarms. A cpy f the Virtual Matrix sftware can be dwnladed frm the Avigiln website. 5 Updating the Help Files The help files fr the Avigiln Cntrl Center Client sftware and Virtual Matrix sftware are stred with the Avigiln Cntrl Center Server applicatin. If ne f these cmpnents is updated befre the thers, the help files may be ut f date r describe features that are nt currently supprted by yur system. If the help files describe a new feature that is nt currently supprted by yur cpy f the sftware, upgrade t the latest versin f the sftware. If the help files are ut f date, dwnlad the latest help files frm the Avigiln website: avigiln.cm. Once dwnladed, run the help installer n the server. The help file installers are divided int the fllwing reginal language packs: Americas English French Spanish Asia Japanese Western Eurpe Dutch French German Italian Spanish Middle East Arabic Fr Mre Infrmatin Visit Avigiln at avigiln.cm fr additinal prduct dcumentatin. 7 Getting Started 1. After yu install the Avigiln Cntrl Center Virtual Matrix sftware, the applicatin autmatically starts. If it des nt, launch the applicatin by ding ne f the fllwing: Duble-clicking the desktp shrtcut In the Start menu, select All Prgrams r All Apps > Avigiln > Avigiln Cntrl Center Virtual Matrix > Avigiln Cntrl Center Virtual Matrix. 2. When yu are prmpted, lg in t the Primary Site. The Primary Site is the site that will be used t edit what is displayed in each mnitr View. a. In the Lg in t: drp dwn list, select the site yu want t cnnect t. If the site yu want t access is nt listed, click Find Site. Fr mre infrmatin, see Discvering sites n page 10. b. Enter yur Username: and Passwrd: fr the site. c. Click Lg In. Once yu are lgged in, a View is autmatically added t each mnitr that is cnnected t the system. When yu mve yur muse, the Mnitr Settings dialg bx is autmatically displayed n all mnitrs. If yu leave yur mnitr idle, the dialg bx will autmatically hide itself. T edit r cntrl what is displayed in each View, yu must lg in t the Primary Site thrugh the Avigiln Cntrl Center Client sftware. Thrugh the Client sftware, yu can add cameras, maps and web pages t each View, and yu can change the View layut f each mnitr. 8 Starting Up and Shutting Dwn the Virtual Matrix Starting Up the Virtual Matrix T start the Virtual Matrix sftware, repeat the prcedure described in Getting Started n the previus page. By default, the applicatin autmatically lgs back in t all f the sites it was previusly lgged in t. Shutting Dwn the Virtual Matrix Mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the Mnitr Settings dialg bx. Click Exit Applicatin. This will shut dwn the Virtual Matrix sftware n the system and clse all mnitr Views. While the Virtual Matrix sftware is shut dwn, the mnitrs remain listed in the Avigiln Cntrl Center Client sftware. Any changes made t the mnitr display settings are applied when the Virtual Matrix sftware is next launched. Starting Up and Shutting Dwn the Virtual Matrix 8

9 Mnitr Settings When yu mve yur muse acrss any mnitr, the Mnitr Settings dialg bx autmatically appears n every mnitr. Each dialg bx is specific t the mnitr it is displayed n. If yu leave the mnitrs idle, the dialg bx will aut-hide n all mnitrs. Naming the Mnitr By default, the mnitr View is named < Primary site cmputer name>-<mnitr number> Yu can chse t prvide each mnitr View a name that is descriptive f what it displays. 1. Mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the Mnitr Settings dialg bx. 2. In the Mnitr Settings area, enter a meaningful name in the Mnitr Name field. 3. In the Mnitr Lgical ID field, enter a unique number that can be used t access the mnitr View thrugh keybard cmmands. 4. Click Update t apply yur changes. Changing the Primary Site If yu want t manage the mnitr Views frm a different site, yu will need t change the Primary Site. NOTE: In the Avigiln Cntrl Center Client sftware, the Virtual Matrix Views will cntinue t be displayed under the riginal Primary Site as a discnnected mnitr. T remve the mnitr View frm Primary Site, yu will need t manually delete the mnitr View frm the System Explrer. 1. Mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the Mnitr Settings dialg bx. 2. Click. 3. Click OK. 4. In the Site Lgin dialg bx, select the site frm the drp dwn list then enter the Username: and Passwrd:. 5. Click Lg In. Lgging In T and Out Of Additinal sites T display vide frm utside the Primary Site, yu can lg in t additinal sites t gain access t mre camera vide. Yu will nt be able t edit the Virtual Matrix mnitrs in the additinal sites, but yu will be able t display vide and maps that are maintained by the site. NOTE: In the Avigiln Cntrl Center Client sftware, yu must be lgged int the Primary Site and the additinal sites t display the required vide in the same View mnitr. Mnitr Settings 9

10 Lgging in t a New site 1. Mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the Mnitr Settings dialg bx. 2. Click Add Site. 3. Click OK. 4. In the Site Lgin dialg bx, select the site frm the drp dwn list then enter the Username: and Passwrd:. If the site yu want is nt listed, click Find Site. Fr mre infrmatin, see Discvering sites belw. 5. Click Lg In. Remving Additinal Sites 1. Mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the Mnitr Settings dialg bx. 2. In the Additinal Sites area, select the site yu want t remve. 3. Click. Discvering sites If the site yu want is nt autmatically discvered, it may be cnnected t a different subnet and must be manually discvered. After yu lcate the site, yu will be able t lg in t it as the Primary Site r add it as an additinal site. 1. Mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the Mnitr Settings dialg bx. 2. Open the Find Site dialg bx by cmpleting ne f the fllwing: If If yu are lgging in t a site If yu have already lgged in t a site D this... In the Site Lgin dialg bx, click Find Site. Click Client Settings > Site Netwrking > Find Site. If yu want t lcate a new Primary Site Click > Find Site If yu want t lcate an additinal site. Click Add Site > Find Site 3. In the Find Site dialg bx, cmplete the fllwing: NOTE: All users with access t the Virtual Matrix are able t see the manually discvered sites. a. Enter the IP Address/Hstname: f the site yu want t cnnect t. b. The Base Prt: is by default. Cnsult with yur System Administratr if the Base Prt: has been changed in the Admin Tl. Fr mre infrmatin, see The Avigiln Cntrl Center Server User Guide. c. Click OK d. Enter yur site Username: and Passwrd:. The new site is autmatically added t the available sites list. 11 Adding and Remving a Mnitr View By default when the Virtual Matrix sftware is launched, a View frm the Avigiln Cntrl Center Client sftware is added t each mnitr that is cnnected t the system. Yu can add r remve mnitr Views as required. Adding a Mnitr View Mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the Mnitr Settings dialg bx. Click Add Mnitr. A new View is autmatically added t the same mnitr. In the Avigiln Cntrl Center Client sftware, the new View is added t the Primary Site as a new mnitr and can be cntrlled like the ther Views displayed by the Virtual Matrix. Remving a Mnitr View Mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the Mnitr Settings dialg bx. Click Remve Mnitr. The View is clsed and the mnitr is deleted frm the Avigiln Cntrl Center sftware. Any rules r settings that are linked t the remved mnitr will need t be reset. Adjusting Vide Display If vide in the mnitr View is nt as clear as yu expect, yu can adjust the mnitr display settings. 1. Mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the Mnitr Settings dialg bx. 2. Click Client Settings. 3. Fllw any f the fllwing prcedures t adjust hw vide is displayed in the View. NOTE: Sme features are nt displayed if the cnnected site des nt have the required license r the feature installed. Displaying Analg Vide in Deinterlaced Mde Select the Display Deinterlaced Images check bx if the analg vide yu are watching is shwing interfacing artifacts. This setting will help imprve vide image and smth ut sme f the artifacts. Changing Display Quality If yur cmputer des nt have enugh netwrk bandwidth r prcessing pwer, yu may nt be able t watch vide at its full image rate and quality. Yu can cnfigure the image panels t display vide in high quality and lw frame rate, r lw quality and high frame rate. Select a higher display quality setting if yu need t see specific details r faces in the scene. Select a lwer display quality setting if it's mre imprtant t see mving events as they ccur. The Display Quality: settings nly affect the image panel display and d nt affect the actual vide quality r image rate between the camera and the server. Therefre, yu can review recrded ftage later t cnfirm what yu saw in the image panel. In the Display Quality: area, select ne f the fllwing ptins: Adding and Remving a Mnitr View 11

12 Maximum: displays vide at full reslutin with the lwest image rate. High (Default): displays vide at 1/4 reslutin. Medium: displays vide at 1/16 reslutin. Lw: displays vide at 1/64 reslutin with the highest image rate. Overlay Settings Yu can adjust the Client Overlays settings t imprve hw vide is displayed n yur mnitr. NOTE: Sme features are nt available if the server des nt have the required license, r if yu d nt have the required user permissins. 1. In the tp-right crner f the applicatin windw, select > Client Settings > Overlays. 2. Cmplete any f the fllwing prcedures t adjust hw vide is displayed in image panels. Displaying Image Overlays Select any f the Image Overlays: ptins t set the type f infrmatin that is displayed ver vide. Overlay Device Name Device Lcatin Descriptin Displays the name assigned t the camera. Displays the lcatin assigned t the camera. (Recrded vide nly) Displays the expsure timestamp fr the vide. Frm the Timestamp Zne: area, select the time that shuld be displayed: Playback Timestamp Live Timestamp Shw device time If yu have cameras installed at different lcatins in yur system, select this ptin t display the time recrded at the camera lcatin. Shw lcal time Select this ptin t display the recrded vide time in yur lcal timezne. (Live vide nly) Displays the current date and time t the millisecnd. Frm the Timestamp Zne: area, select the time that shuld be displayed: Shw device time If yu have cameras installed at different lcatins in yur system, select this ptin t display the time at the camera lcatin. Shw lcal time Select this ptin t display the time in yur lcal timezne. (Live vide nly) Displays the recrding status f a camera. The recrding status is indicated by the rund icn n the tp-left crner f the image panel. The clr f the icn shws the camera's recrding status. Recrd Indicatr : recrding triggered by a mtin event : recrding : nt recrding. Click this icn at any time t begin manual recrding. Overlay Settings 12

13 Overlay Mtin Activity Vide Analytics Activity Highlights mtin in red. Descriptin Fr Classified Object Mtin Detectin, bunding bxes utline bjects detected in the vide. The clr f the bunding bx identifies the bject type: Red a persn Blue a vehicle Fr Unusual Mtin Detectin, teal bunding bxes trail a mving bject. The Vide Analytics Activity verlay is nly activated fr vide frm a vide analytics device. NOTE: The bunding bxes may nt be displayed if the feature is disabled n the specific device. 14 Resizing a Mnitr View When the Virtual Matrix sftware is initially launched, the View n each mnitr is displayed in fullscreen mde, but yu can restre and resize the View as needed. T restre dwn a View, mve yur muse acrss the screen t display the title bar, then click. When the View is restred dwn, yu can resize it t fit yur needs by clicking and dragging any crner f the windw.
