6 Using the camera Initial set up 1. Unscrew the rear cap on the back of the camera (function 3). 2. Make sure the camera is OFF before inserting or removing the memory card. 3. Make sure the Micro SD card is formatted with no data on it. 4 GB cards and above should be formatted using the FAT32 file system. IMPORTANT: When formatting the memory card, the Allocation unit size must be set to 32 kilobytes (KB) otherwise the camera may not recognize the Micro SD card. 4. Insert a Micro SD card (up to 32 GB) into the slot. To insert the Micro SD card, slide the Micro SD card into the card slot on the back of the camera with the card label facing down. The Micro SD card will click into place. Charging the battery Unscrew the rear cap on the back of the camera (function 3) and plug the USB charger into the camera. The blue light will be on while charging. The light will turn off when the battery is fully charged. We recommend you charge the battery for at least 10 hours for the first use. You can record up to 125 minutes with one charge. Turning the camera on or off To turn on Press and hold the Power/Shutter (function 2) button for about 4 seconds. A green LED will light up. Once you let go of the button, the LED will flash red twice to indicate it is in standby mode. To turn off Press and hold the Power/Shutter (function 2) button until the LED flashes red. The camera will then turn off. Setting date & time Download the time.txt file from: kitvision.co.uk/product/kvblast3000bk Open the file time.txt and change the date & time as follows: YYYY.MM.DD hh:mm:ss Y = year h = hours M = month m = minutes D = day s = seconds Once edited, copy the file to memory card. Your videos and photo s will then be saved using the time and date you have set. The time will start when the camera is turned on

7 Taking a video To take videos with the camera, make sure that the Video/Photo switch (function 4) is set to the right for video mode then turn on the camera Once the camera is on, press (not hold) the Power/Shutter button (function 2) to start recording. The red LED will blink whilst the video is recording. Press the Power/Shutter button (function 2) again to stop recording Taking still pictures To take still pictures with the camera, make sure that the Video/Photo switch (function 4) is set to the left for photo mode then turn on the camera Press (not hold) the Power/Shutter (function 2) button to start taking photos, the red LED will blink. Press the Power/Shutter button (function 2) again to stop taking photos and to go back to the standby mode. In photo mode the camera will take photos every 3 seconds. It will stop taking pictures automatically if the battery is empty or if the Micro SD card is full Connecting the camera Unscrew the rear cap (function 3) then turn on the camera. Connect the USB cable to the camera (function 5) and a PC or Mac. The camera will be recognised automatically as a USB Device on a PC or an external hard drive on a Mac. Alternatively you can remove the Micro SD card from the camera and use a card reader. Important tip for Mac users When deleting files from a micro SD card, you must empty the trash before removing or unplugging the camera. If you do not empty your trash the photos and videos files will not be completely erased from the micro SD card. Caution The device must be powered on when connecting to a PC or Mac. If you remove the battery whilst playing/transferring files, data corruption will likely occur
