Firmware in this dcument is the sftware that runs inside digital cameras. Add the fllwing enhanced features (V3.00) Manual fcus can be dne by using the +/- buttn as well as the up-dwn dial. [2] Press MENU/OK buttn and press Fn1 buttn. [3] Press WB buttn t display [Set-up ] menu screen. [4] Press flash buttn and Select [Cnfirm Firmware Versin]. [5] Press flash buttn. The firmware versin fr camera is displayed n the [Cnfirm Firm Versin] screen. Preparatin f update Blank, frmatted SD card (16MB r mre) USB cable If yu are cpying the firmware update file t the SD card by cnnecting the camera directly t yur cmputer. SD card reader r a cmputer with a SD card slt. If yu are cpying the firmware update file t the SD card using a memry card reader / writer. Fully charged battery

4 *Be sure t use fully charged battery If the camera turns ff during updating due t lack f battery pwer, the camera will becme inperable. If this happens, a charge will be made fr repairs even if within the warranty perid. Dwnlad the updated firmware file Fr Windws/Macintsh :rg2_v00*.zip *,*** Kbytes, zip type Updating Prcedure [1] ] Prvide a frmatted SD memry card fr the update sftware. The dwnlad file is self-extracting. The fllwing file is extracted. rg2_v00*.frm: This is the updated firmware Cpy the abve Firmware file [rg2_v00*.frm] t the rt directry in the SD card. If yur cmputer des nt have a card slt, yu can cpy the firmware update file by inserting the SD card int yur camera and then cnnecting the camera directly t yur cmputer. [2] Insert the battery int the camera and cnfirm the battery is full by battery level indicatr then turn the camera ff. [3] Insert the update SD card (prepared in step 1) int the camera and clse card cver. [4] Turn the camera pwer n. [5] Press MENU buttn and press Fn1 buttn. [6] Press WB buttn t display [Set-up] menu screen. [7] Press flash buttn and Select [Cnfirm Firmware Versin]. [8] Press flash buttn Current versin and new versin will be displayed. *If firmware file is nt saved t SD card crrectly, this screen will nt be displayed.

5 [9] Select [Yes] and press MENU/OK buttn. *The firmware update will start. *D nt turn OFF the camera while updating. [10] When update is cmpleted, Firmware update cmplete will be displayed [11] Press MENU/OK buttn then remve the SD card frm camera. *Cnfirm the versin f firmware with abve [Hw t check versin]. [Cautin] When updating is finished, the update SD card still cntains the Firmware file. If yu want t use this card t take pictures, frmat the card by the camera t delete firmware file first. 1. This sftware may nly be used by users wh wn the GR II 2. This sftware is cvered by a sftware license agreement. Please read the sftware license agreement befre dwnlading the sftware. 3. Yu will have agreed with this sftware license agreement when the dwnlad starts. Firmware Update Sftware fr GR II Sftware License Agreement The custmer (hereinafter "the user") shall verify the fllwing items belw related t the use f the licensed sftware supplied t the user by RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD. The dwnlad starts when yu press "I agree. Start dwnlad." n this sftware license agreement. 1. Definitin f terms Licensed sftware: "Licensed sftware" means the captined prgram in a frmat that the user can dwnlad frm the RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD website r frm a site empwered by RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD. Use : "Use" means the user dwnlading and retrieving the licensed sftware frm the RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD website r frm a site empwered by RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD. Designated machine: "Designated machine" means the single cmputer system set up in rder fr the user t use the licensed sftware.

6 Reprductin: "Reprductin" means reprducing the licensed sftware n a strage device in the same frmat as the user dwnladed r a different frmat. Mdificatin: "Mdificatin" means perfrming alternatins r making additins t the licensed sftware, r creating separate sftware that makes use f all r a prtin f the licensed sftware. 2. Grant f license RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD grants a nn-exclusive license t the user n the cnditin that the user uses the licensed sftware in accrdance with the terms and cnditins f this sftware license agreement. The user may nly use the licensed sftware n the designated machine. 3. Reprductin f the licensed sftware The user shall nt reprduce the licensed sftware fr purpses ther than t save and backup the licensed sftware intended fr use n the designated machine. 4. Mdifying the licensed sftware The user shall nt mdify r reverse engineer the licensed sftware fr any reasn. 5. Prperty rights and cpyright The cpyright and ther prperty rights fr the licensed sftware and fr reprductins f the licensed sftware belng t RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD regardless f any reasn. The user shall nt remve the cpyright ntatins frm the licensed sftware r frm reprductins f the licensed sftware. 6. Grant f sublicense The user shall nt transfer pssessin f the licensed sftware r reprductins f the licensed sftware t third parties, and the user shall nt transfer the license nr grant a sublicense f the licensed sftware t third parties. 7. Agreement perid This sftware license agreement is effective n the day the user starts using the licensed sftware and is valid until the time the user stps use. Prvided that, when the user has vilated any prtin f this sftware license agreement, RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD may revke the license granted t the user fr the licensed sftware and terminate the sftware license agreement. 8. Obligatins after terminatin After the sftware license agreement is terminated, the user, at the user's wn respnsibility, shall dispse f the licensed sftware after rendering it int a state where it cannt be used by third parties, and dispse f reprductins and mdificatins f the licensed sftware, and all materials related t the licensed sftware. 9. Guarantee f the licensed sftware RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD shall nt guarantee that the licensed sftware is suitable fr the user's designated purpses, r that the licensed sftware is useful, r that this licensed sftware is free frm defects, nr shall RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD make any ther guarantees related t the licensed sftware.

Exprting the licensed sftware The user shall nt directly r indirectly exprt all r a prtin f the licensed sftware withut btaining the necessary permissin frm the Gvernment f Japan r the gvernments f the relevant cuntries. 11. RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD 's respnsibilities RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD A assumes n respnsibility under any circumstance fr direct r indirect damage r damage frm ripple effects that ccurs frm using the licensed sftware, fr damage t data, prgrams, r ther intangible prperties, r fr lss f usage benefits and lst prfits. 12. Respnsibility fr emplyees The user assumes all respnsibility that the user's emplyees (thse emplyees that the user has a respnsibility t manage r mnitr based n an emplyment relatinship) fully cmprehend the bligatins set frth in this sftware license agreement and faithfully fulfill thse bligatins.
