Multiplatforms V3.1 electronically translates data, such as invoices, purchase orders, and billing forms, for exchange with trading partners either via the Information Exchange commerce engine or by using MQ messaging queues supported on a variety of operating systems and the MQSeries Services offering. Multiplatforms V3.1 Client provides a GUI for server administration. 2 Description With Multiplatforms V3.1, you can create application data mappings to be used as a stand-alone EDI integrated with other applications through APIs, on either an AIX or Windows 2000 platform for real-time processing. The application data mappings convert from/into proprietary EDI standards, including but not limited to, ANSI X.12, UN/EDIFACT, and UCS. supports subsets of the published ANSI X 12, and UN/EDIFACT standards, as interpreted by industries such as transportation, electronics, automotive, petroleum, healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing. Features MQSeries message queuing support: WebSphere Data Interchange can now be driven by MQ messages to allow additional integration with WebSphere MQ Integrator by allowing WebSphere MQ Integrator to control the operation of WebSphere Data Interchange and cooperate in transformation of EDI messages. Use the MQSeries Queue profile to associate logical names with real MQSeries Queues. The Network Profile (NETPROF) communication field now has a new VANI value, VANIMQ. SAP status records extracted during translation You can now specify the SAPUPDT keyword in the Continuous Receive profile. Now WebSphere Data Interchange for Multiplatforms V3.1 can write status records to the SAP status flat file when it writes the record to the database. WebSphere Data Interchange for Multiplatforms V3.1 marks the SAP status records when they have been extracted and uses the REMOVE to see if the record to be removed has been extracted. Expanded EDI control number assignment allows the assignment of document control numbers by sender/receiver pairing and transaction ID. Each control number pairing can be viewed from the server interfaces and from the Client interface. Fields in Trading Partner profile are control number masks for use during the creation of a new control number. Reduced trading partner setup You can now maintain the address field and comment field of the Trading Partner profile using the server interfaces. Event log conversion into a administrative database table The Event Log can now be a database table that can be viewed via the Multiplatforms V3.1 View menu. You can also select criteria and execute the Event log Archive process via a PERFORM command. Event logging also can now be completely turned off. Envelope profile export and import from received maps You can now create, update, and delete Envelope Profiles using the Multiplatforms V3.1 client. Where used on data format fields You can now specify a forward or backward search string to search image data in the Transaction Store

3 Standards compliance checking You can now have the translator check every segment of an EDI transaction that flows through a map. When specified by map, Multiplatforms V3.1 will compliance check all segments of a document against the appropriate EDI standard. XML Translation supports ADF to XML and XML to ADF translation. 5 Client Requirements: Multiplatforms V3.1 Client is a 32-bit Windows 95, 98, or 2000 application designed to run on an Intel Pentium PC with a minimum of 128 MB RAM. DB2 Connect Personal Edition V7.2 This should include a client/server architecture with open database connectivity (ODBC) to the server. Planning Information Customer Responsibilities: WebSphere Data Interchange for Multiplatforms V3.1 contains the applicable IBM License agreement, and Licence Information (LI) and will be presented for acceptance at the time of installation of the program. The License and LI will be stored in a directory called LICENSE.TXT for future reference. Packaging Information: The following items are shipped with the product 1. Refer to the WebSphere Data Interchange Processor Group List table shown in Ordering Information. 2. Define the number of servers in each tier. 3. Total the number of Capacity Units per tier by multiplying the number of servers per tier by the number of Capacity Units per tier. 4. Look up the licensed software maintenance Passport Advantage customer part number required based on the duration (1 or 2 years). 5. Order the above part number and specify the total Capacity Unit quantity (ref. 3) plus a copy of the media package part number. For example: If the customer has 2 servers in Tier 2 and 2 servers in Tier 3, the total number of Capacity Units required = 24 (2x4 plus 2x8). A Capacity Unit Calculator is also available at: messaging/calculator/ Media Packages For this program, the Program License Charge Unit is based on the number of processors by server. Capacity Units are available in units of one, and are required for every machine on which the WebSphere Data Interchange for Multiplatforms V3.1 is installed. The program includes the Client, which may be used either on the same processor as that on which the program s server code is running, or on no more that one other Intel-based machine. No separate server authorizations are required to license any other component part of the media package.
