9 Chapter 2: Overview The Avaya Control Manager system is a centralized operational administration solution that provides a comprehensive solution to administrators to support day-to-day operations. Avaya Control Manager complements the entire Avaya Contact Center suite by combining and integrating key management and administration tasks of a wide range of contact center entities. Using the Avaya Control Manager system, administrators can unify, streamline, and centralize the management of Avaya Aura Contact Center operations. In addition, the administrator can track events and take necessary action to meet customer needs. The Avaya Control Manager system is for Avaya customers using different Avaya Contact Center Business Unit products and solutions. The Avaya Control Manager system integrates with a Unified Communication infrastructure based on Avaya Aura Communication Manager and Avaya Aura Session Manager. 11 Chapter 3: Avaya Control Manager Central License Tracker Central License Tracker overview Avaya Control Manager Central License Tracker provides the following capabilities: Offers centralized usage with License Tracking. Provides centralized view to track enterprise license usage with historical tracking across the systems that are integrated with Avaya Control Manager. Provides tracking of enterprise usage history over a defined time period. For example, if Monday is the busiest day of the call taking week, you can view the last five days of the Elite Agents in use. Allows sending alerts and notifications on license usage or peaks so that you can be alerted of the potential need to buy as you get close to your current or budgeted in use quantities. Supports the concept of Tenant (Cost Center) Based License Assignment. Supports licensing reports across different time zones. 12 Avaya Proactive Contact Avaya Proactive Outreach Manager Architecture The following illustration describes the architecture of the central license tracker: Component Installed as Description License Tracker Notification Server Database Reporting Interface Windows service: ACCCM Service License Tracker Windows service: ACCCM Tracker License Part of the Avaya Control Manager Database Website This service tracks the license usage in the different systems. This service sends notifications and SNMP messages. This service stores the license tracking history. This service includes a website for users to view the license tracking history through a graphical user interface. The Avaya Control Manager License Tracking Service, introduced with Avaya Control Manager, uses a set of connectors to track license usage across systems that are part of the Avaya environment. The history length is configurable for each system. You can control the length from the Avaya Control Manager administrative interface. 14 Chapter 4: Installing and testing Central License and Traffic Tracker License tracker is installed as a part of the default express installation. To install License Tracker separately, perform the steps mentioned in Installing Central License and Traffic Tracker. Installing Central License and Traffic Tracker Before you begin Avaya Control Manager 7.0 or higher must be installed..net Framework version 3.5 or 4.5 installed as a part of the installation wizard. Microsoft MVC installed as a part of the installation wizard. JAVA Runtime Environment 1.6 installed as a part of the installation wizard. Procedure 1. From the Avaya Control Manager installation CD, double-click the Avaya Control Manager installation wizard. 2. On the Prerequisites screen, select the JAVA Runtime Environment component and click Next. 3. In the System Services pane, click License Tracker and then click Next. 4. Click Next and complete the installation. Testing Central License and Traffic Tracker installation Procedure 1. Open a web browser and type name>/acccmlicensetracker in the address bar. The <server name> is the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) or the IP address of the Avaya Control Manager License Tracker. 16 Chapter 5: Configuring the license Configuring the generic tracker Procedure 1. Log on to the Avaya Control Manager interface as an administrator. 2. On the Avaya Control Manager webpage, click Configuration Portal > Licenses > License Tracker Settings. The system displays the License Tracking Settings page. 3. Click the Add button. The system displays the License Tracking Settings Add page. 4. Enter appropriate values in the following fields: Field Description Values Product Name Select the system that you want to monitor with the license tracking tool. CM (Communication Manager and Call Center Elite) AES (Application Enablement Services) AACC (Avaya Aura Contact Center EMC (Elite Multichannel) AIC (Interaction Center) IQ (Avaya IQ) CMS (Call Management System) PC (Proactive Contact) MM (Modular Messaging) CMM (Communication Manager Messaging) DD (Dialog Designer or Orchestration Designer) VP (Voice Portal or Experience Portal) POM (Proactive Outreach Manager) Alias Enter a unique name for the license tracker being assigned to this product. 17 Field Description Values Tracking History (days) Enable (optional) WebLM Address Tracking Interval (minutes) WebLM Username WebLM Password The number of days to store historical data in the Avaya Control Manager database. For example, if you set this value to 2, then Avaya Control Manager keeps the last license tracking history for the last 48 hours. Enables or disables the license tracking for the integrated system. The URL that points to the WebLM server of the tracked system. The time interval in minutes that Avaya Control Manager is connected to the tracked system and retrieve the license information. For example, if you set this value to 2, then Avaya Control Manager connects every 2 minutes to the tracked system and saves the license usage into the Avaya Control Manager database. In a time period of 24 hours Avaya Control Manager stores 24*15*x (license types) records in the Avaya Control Manager database. Type the username to access WebLM. Type the password to access WebLM. 1-N days Check box (enable/disable) This field is relevant only for WebLM enabled systems. The values change for every system. For example: LM/licenseServer <ServerName> is the server name of the WebLM server. 1-N minutes Any value. Any value. Using Avaya Control Manager Central License and Traffic Tracker 17

18 Field Description Values CM CMS Command Delay (millisenconds) 5. Click Save. Provides the drop-down list of the administered Communication Manager systems. Note: This field appears on the screen only when you select the Product Name field as CM. Provides the drop-down list of the administered Call Management Systems (CMSs). Note: This field appears on the screen only when you select the Product Name field as CMS. Defines the amount of delay for commands sent between the Control Manager and CMS. Note: This field appears on the screen only when you select the Product Name field as CMS. Select a Communication Manager system from the list. Select a Call Management System from the list. 1-N milliseconds Note: To edit an existing record, double-click the row from the list of the records. Edit the required details of the record and click Save. Tracking the Avaya Aura Communication Manager licenses You must configure the Avaya Control Manager system to track the Avaya Aura Communication Manager licenses. You cannot track the Avaya Aura Communication Manager licenses through WebLM. Procedure 1. Log on to the Avaya Control Manager interface as an administrator. 2. On the Avaya Control Manager webpage, click Configuration Portal > Unified Communications (UC) > Communication Manager (CM). 19 3. Configure the Avaya Aura Communication Manager connection. For more information, see Configuring Avaya Control Manager. 4. Click Configuration Portal > Licenses > License Tracker Settings. The system displays the License Tracking Settings page. 5. Click the Add button. The system displays the License Tracking Settings Add page. 6. In the Product Name field, click Avaya Aura Communication Manager. 7. In the CM field, click Avaya Aura Communication Manager that you want to track. 8. Enter appropriate values in all other fields and then click Save. Tracking the CMS license You cannot track the CMS licenses through WebLM. You must configure the Avaya Control Manager system to track CMS licenses. 1. Log on to the Avaya Control Manager interface as an administrator. 2. On the Avaya Control Manager webpage, click Configuration Portal > Contact Center (CC) > CMS. The system displays the following page: 3. Configure the CMS connection. For more information, see Configuring Avaya Control Manager. 4. Click Configuration Portal > Licenses > License Tracker Settings. The system displays the License Tracking Settings page. 5. Click the Add button. The system displays the License Tracking Settings Add page. 6. In the Product name field, click CMS. 7. In the CMS field, click a CMS that you want to track. 20 8. Enter appropriate values in all other fields and then click Save. Configuring the WebLM enabled systems The Generic WebLM connector that is part of the Avaya Control Manager license tracker tracks the WebLM enabled systems. Note: The Avaya Control Manager license tracker works only with a standalone WebLM server. In order to be tracked by Avaya Control Manager, products must acquire licenses from this standalone WebLM server. Procedure 1. Log on to the Avaya Control Manager interface as an administrator. 2. On the Avaya Control Manager webpage, click Configuration Portal > Licenses > License Tracker Settings. The system displays the License Tracking Settings page. 3. Click the Add button. The system displays the License Tracking Settings Add page. 4. In the Product Name field, click any product other than CMS or CM. 5. In the WebLM field, enter the WebLM address. The WebLM URL is different for every system. To retrieve the URL, see relevant product documentation. 21 Chapter 6: Setting up the Avaya Control Manager Notification engine Notification overview With the Avaya Control Manager Central License and Trunk Tracker tool, you can receive automatic notifications based on thresholds that you define in the application. To add a new notification, click the Add button. The system displays the Licenses Tracker Notifications Add page. 4. In the Qualifier field, click a mathematical qualifier. For example, <,>,=,<>,<=,>= 14. In the Threshold field, enter the license threshold. 15. Click Save to add the notification threshold. Configuring SMTP Settings To allow Avaya Control Manager Central License Tracker to send notifications, you must configure an SMTP gateway that Avaya Control Manager uses. Procedure 1. Log on to the Avaya Control Manager interface as an administrator. 2. On the Avaya Control Manager webpage, click Configuration Portal > Services > Notification Server. The system displays the list of notification services. 3. Click the notification service that you want to edit. 4. Click the SMTP Parameters tab. The system displays the following page: 5. In the SMTP Host field, enter the IP address or the Host name of your SMTP server. 6. In the SMTP Port field, enter the port number that is used by your SMTP server. The default port number is 25. In the SMTP Password field, enter the password for your SMTP server. Running the Avaya Control Manager Notification Service Avaya Control Manager introduces a service called the Avaya Control Manager Notification Service. This service sends and SNMP notifications from Avaya Control Manager to external sources, such as mail servers or monitoring systems. By default, the system installs this service during the installation or upgrade of Avaya Control Manager. The new notification architecture of Avaya Control Manager leverages a queue mechanism. The queuing platform is installed as a part of Avaya Control Manager and runs in a Tomcat application server. Before you begin Ensure that the Tomcat service is running on the Avaya Control Manager server. Procedure 1. Click Start > All Programs > Apache Tomcat 7.0 > Configure Tomcat. 2. Start Tomcat. The <server name> is the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) or the IP address of the Avaya Control Manager License Tracker. 2. Log on to the Avaya Control Manager License Tracker interface as an administrator. The system displays the following page: The Avaya Control Manager Web reporting portal includes three tabs: Tab Settings Description General system settings that are stored and personalized for every user who uses the application. Dashboard Real-time license information from the license tracker. Historical Historical reports that allow you to view the historical data that is stored in the license tracker database. 27 Viewing the Settings tab The Settings tab provides general system settings that are stored and personalized for every user who uses the application. The Settings tab includes two fields: Field Name Refresh Rate (seconds) Startup Page Description The Refresh Rate parameter controls the refresh rate of the dashboard screen. The parameter is defined in seconds. For example, if you set this parameter to five, then the system refreshes the Avaya Control Manager dashboard screen every five seconds. The Startup Page parameter controls the display on this page, every time the user logs in to the License Tracker application. You can select one of the options on the Startup page: - Settings - Dashboard - Historical reports Viewing the Dashboard tab The Avaya Control Manager License Tracker Dashboard tab is a real-time dashboard application that allows you to view real time information of your license usage. The dashboard screen is divided into three parts: Screen Part A B Description This area displays the list of systems that are configured in the license tracker as clickable buttons. If you click one of the systems, the dashboard loads a list of available licenses into screen Part B. Click the All button to display a list of all licenses from all the configured systems. This area displays a list of available licenses from the selected systems that are selected in Part A. The information appears in a table structure with the following columns: System Name: The name of the system. License Name: The name of the license. Total: The total number of licenses installed. Available: The total number of licenses available. Used: The total number of licenses used. Each row has a check box next to it. The check box controls the licenses that appear in the chart area (Part C). Using Avaya Control Manager Central License and Traffic Tracker 27

28 Screen Part C Description This area displays two charts: License Availability: Displays the number of Used/Available licenses for the selected licenses Intra Daily Usage: Displays the intra daily usage of licenses. The licenses are shown based on the tracking interval time. For example, if you configure the license tracker to track license information every 15 minutes, then this chart will show you the information in a 15 minute interval. 29 Chapter 8: Managing traffic tracker Avaya Control Manager Central Traffic Tracker provides the following capabilities: Centralized tracking of all trunk traffic in the environment. Centralized tracking for Avaya Aura Communication Manager Processor Occupancy in the environment. Enabling trunk and occupancy Procedure 1. Log on to the Avaya Control Manager interface as an administrator. 2. On the Avaya Control Manager webpage, click Configuration Portal > Unified Communications (UC) > Communication Manager (CM). 30 4. Click the Trunk Reports tab. 5. In the Track Traffic field, click Yes. 6. In the History Length (days) field, type the number of days to store the history of the trunk tracking information. 7. Click Save to update the Avaya Aura Communication Manager details. 8. Open the Sync Application from \\Program Files (x86)\avaya\avayacontrol Manager\Services\ACM Synchronizer\ NAV360_Synchronizer.exe. The system displays the following page: 9. In the Objects to synchronize pane, click Trunk. Note: This step is a one-time step. 10. Log in to the Avaya Control Manager system again and navigate to Configuration Portal > Unified Communications (UC) > Communication Manager (CM). 11. From the list, double-click the Avaya Aura Communication Manager you want to manage. Using Avaya Control Manager Central License and Traffic Tracker 30

31 The system displays the following page: 12. Click the More tab, and then click Trunk Management. 13. Select the trunk required for Traffic Measurement and click Edit. a. In the Tracked* field select Yes. b. Click Save. 14. On the Trunk Management page, click Save. 15. Ensure that Avaya Control Manager tracks each trunk for tracking on the Avaya Aura Communication Manager (Page 3 in the Avaya Aura Communication Manager, the Measured option must be at least configured to Internal). 16. Restart the ACCCM Tracker License Windows service. The system starts to track the Trunk Data and Communication Manager Processor Occupancy information. The tracking is done every hour. Viewing the Trunk Data and Communication Manager Processor Occupancy Information You can view the Trunk Data and Communication Manager Processor Occupancy Information through the tracking portal. The Trunk Measurements screen includes a list of all the trunks that are monitored on the left panel. When you select one of the trunks, the system loads a table with the trunk information and a chart that shows the Trunk processing during the day into the middle panel. The term Switch as shown within the slide specifies Communication Manager, and the information is taken from the following Communication Manager Measurement screen that displays Processor Occupancy: Using Avaya Control Manager Central License and Traffic Tracker 32

33 The information is stored in the Avaya Control Manager database in a table called Traffic_Measure_Trunks_History. Open a web browser. 2. In the address bar, type name>/acccmlicensetracker. 34 The Occupancy Measurements screen includes information on an hourly basis from the tracked Avaya Aura Communication Manager. When you select one of the hours the system loads a table with the occupancy information within that hour in the middle panel and the charts on the right panel displays the static occupancy and call processing occupancy values. 35 Chapter 9: Managing historical reports Historical reports overview The Avaya Control Manager License and Traffic Tracker tool includes a historical reporting feature. The historical reporting feature allows users to generate reports on data collected by the tracker service and stored in the Avaya Control Manager database. In Avaya Control Manager, there are six reports that are categorized in the following three types: Report Type Report Name Description License Usage Peak License Usage for Day Intra Daily License Usage License Comparison Interval This report shows the peak number of licenses used in a specific day. This report shows the number of licenses consumed for every tracking interval within a specific day. This report compares the license usage between two selected dates. Occupancy Intra Daily Occupancy This report shows the Intra Daily Communication Manager Occupancy for a specific location. Trunk Intra Daily Trunk This report shows the Intra daily trunk usage for a specific trunk. Intra Daily Comparison This report allows you to compare the trunk traffic between two different dates for the same intra day measurement intervals. 36 Viewing Peak License Usage for Day Procedure 1. Log on to the Avaya Control Manager License Tracker interface as an administrator. 2. Click the Historical tab. 3. On the Historical Report Wizard page, perform the following steps: a. In the Report Type field, click the License report type. b. In the Report Name field, click the Peak License Usage for Day report. c. In the Selected System field, click the Avaya Aura Communication Manager licenses. d. In the Available Licenses field, click the licenses that are tracked. You can select multiple licenses by holding down the SHIFT or Control key. e. If you select more than 10 license types, the system displays the following message: You have selected more than 10 license types for this report. The License Tracker allows you to run historical reports on up to 10 license types only. c. In the From Date field, click the start date. d. In the To Date field, click the end date. If the duration exceed more than 30 days, the system displays the following message: Maximum duration must not exceed 30 days 4. Click the Run Report button. The system displays the following report output: Field Day License Type Records Description The date of the day. The system displays the select license type used during the peak hours. You can choose up to 10 licenses for each day. Viewing Intra Daily License Usage Procedure 1. Log on to the Avaya Control Manager License Tracker interface as an administrator. 2. Click the Historical tab. 3. On the Historical Report Wizard page, perform the following steps: a. In the Report Type field, click the License report type. b. In the Report Name field, click Intra Daily License Usage. c. In the Selected System field, click the Avaya Aura Communication Manager licenses. In the Selected System field, click the Avaya Aura Communication Manager licenses. d. In the Available Licenses field, click a license. f. In the Date 1 field, click the date. g. In the Date 2 field, click the date. 4. Click the Run Report button. Exporting data to a CSV file You can export the Avaya Control Manager License Tracker Historical reports to a CSV format. Use the following steps to export the License Tracker Reports to a CSV file.
