What are the main features of Cisco Jabber IM for iphone? A. The main features of Cisco Jabber IM for iphone are: Instant Messaging Corporate directory search Add, accept, and delete contacts Automatic network reconnection Set Availability status Push notifications Start or join an instant Cisco WebEx meeting Tap to call Tap to Tap to SMS Multiple Resource Login Q. What features that are available in the Cisco Jabber desktop applications that are not available in Cisco Jabber IM for iphone? A. The following features are not available in Cisco Jabber IM for iphone: Chat history. Your chats will be cleared when you sign out of the iphone app. File transfer. You cannot receive or send file transfers in the iphone app. Screen capture. You cannot send or receive screen captures in the iphone app. Video calling. You cannot use video in the iphone app. Start an instant WebEx meeting with your Cisco Unified Presence account. You cannot start an instant WebEx meeting if you login with Cisco Unified Presence account. 2

3 Q. Which accounts should I use with Cisco Jabber IM for iphone? A. Consult with your system administrator about which accounts to use with Cisco Jabber IM for iphone. Your system administrator will have important information about network configuration that is necessary for the proper set up of the application. Q. What are the requirements to use Cisco Jabber IM for iphone? A. The following requirements must be met to run Cisco Jabber IM for iphone: Device: iphone 3GS, 4, 4S, and 5 ipod Touch fourth and fifth generation Operating System: Apple ios 6.0 Apple ios 6.1 Network Connectivity: Wi-Fi Cellular Data Q. What is the difference between Cisco WebEx Messenger and Cisco Unified Presence? A. Cisco WebEx Messenger is a Cloud-based Instant Messaging and Presence solution and Cisco Unified Presence is an Instant Messaging and Presence solution based in a corporate network. Your company may use either one or both to provide Instant Messaging and Presence in the enterprise. Consult with your system administrator about which solution is used in your corporate network. Connectivity Q. What is session timeout? A. Cisco Jabber IM for iphone will sign you out after a designated period of inactivity if this feature has been configured. See the Cisco Jabber IM for iphone Administrator's Guide for information on this feature. Q. What does deleting an account do? A. Deleting an account in the application removes all information associated with the account. This includes erasing your username, password, server address, and account type from Cisco Jabber IM for iphone. You will be directed to set up a new account the next time you launch Cisco Jabber IM for iphone. 3

4 Contacts Q. How do I search my corporate directory? A. Perform the following tasks to search the corporate directory: 1 Select Contacts. 2 Select the search bar at the top of the screen. 3 Select Corporate Directory. 4 Enter a name in the search field. 5 Select Search. Select the name of a contact to view their details. Q. Why didn't the directory search show the contact I wanted? A. Directory search results are limited to the first 20 contacts. A broad search may not return the contact you wanted. Narrow your search by including more characters in the search. Q. Why don't the pictures of my corporate directory contacts appear? A. Select Settings and verify that the option Show Contact Photo is set to On. Select Settings > Directory and verify the Port field has the value 389 entered. Verify with your system administrator that contact photos are enabled for your profile if these settings are configured properly. Q. Why are my Favorites empty? A. Your Favorites are removed every time you remove Cisco Jabber IM for iphone from your ios device. Favorites are preserved when you upgrade to a new version of Cisco Jabber IM for iphone if you do not remove the application first. Calls Q. Can I make a phone call using Cisco Jabber IM for iphone? A. Yes. You can place a Voice over IP (VoIP) call to someone on your contact list if you also have Cisco Jabber for iphone or Cisco Mobile 8.1 installed on your iphone. The two applications work together to provide calling functionality. Instant Messaging Q. I use a Cisco Jabber application for desktop communications. Can I also use Cisco Jabber IM for iphone? 4

Can I be signed in to a Cisco Jabber desktop application and Cisco Jabber IM for iphone at the same time? A. Yes. You can be signed into both simultaneously. Meetings Q. Can I use Cisco Jabber IM for iphone with Cisco WebEx Meetings? A. Yes. You can start an instant meeting with any of your contacts if you have also installed Cisco WebEx Meetings on your iphone. The two applications work together to provide meeting functionality. Support and Feedback Q. How do I get technical support and help with troubleshooting? A.
