Clients and partners will be advised in advance if First Data chooses to use any of the potential infrastructure windows or quarterly systems upgrades. Please advise any personnel within your organisation who may be affected by these scheduled system events. Scheduled system upgrades allow First Data to continue to deliver a high level of service to our clients. They are reflective of our commitment to providing the very best EFT system and processing services in the industry. 3 1 Terminology and Information 2 Quarterly Scheduled System Upgrades and Moratoriums Throughout the year, First Data plans quarterly major system upgrades. They generally include a 4 hour outage window. Clients and partners will be advised in advance if First Data chooses to use any of the potential infrastructure windows or quarterly systems upgrades. Event Moratorium Starts Final Terminal Installs & Changes Before Implementation Description Scheduled moratorium commences at this time. 4 3 Scheduled Infrastructure Windows 4 Scheme Implementation Dates Scheduled infrastructure windows allow for any significant work First Data may need to undertake. This may include general or preventative maintenance activities, major/minor system upgrades and implementations required to deliver new products and services to our partners and clients. If First Data needs to use an infrastructure window, affected clients and partners will be advised in advance. Visa, MasterCard and American Express have compliance windows twice annually to implement scheme regulation changes. The schemes manage the change implementation firstly for their own central processing, and secondly for all processors and member financial institutions around the world. Some of First Data s products and services may be impacted by these scheme mandates. For instance, clients may experience small delays in the receipt of direct entry (DE) and general ledger (GL) files on these implementation days. There will be no online service interruption. If there is any impact to processing, affected clients and partners will be advised in advance.
