1 DS-300 Version 5.7 Web based configuration Troubleshooting Guide 1. LOGIN SETTINGS By Default, after getting a DHCP IP address from DS-300, open any Internet browser and type in the URL address for Customer Web UI at Username Password : admin : admin123 TROUBLESHOOTING 1. Customers Cannot Access the Page i. Check if the customer is getting a DHCP IP from DS-300 in the range of x (excluding ), subnet mask ii. Check if the customer is able to ping to Go to START > RUN (Type: cmd) > COMMAND PROMPT (Type: ping ) iii. Check if the customers web browser has blocked the URL of or the if this URL is under Restricted List.

2 2. STATUS PAGE WiMAX STATUS The following are the meanings of each information showed in the WiMAX Status Page: The WiMAX Radio Frequency channel that the DS-300 is connected Frequency to. Bandwidth The width of WiMAX Radio Frequency channel. BSID State Uptime RSSI CINR TX Power The WiMAX Base station ID that the DS-300 is connected to. Status of the DS-300. The length of time that the DS-300 is powered up starting when the power is turn ON. The signal strength of the WiMAX Radio Frequency channel that the DS-300 is connected to. The signal quality of the WiMAX Radio Frequency channel that the DS- 300 is connected to. The WiMAX Radio Frequency power that is transmitted from the DS- 300 to the Base station.

STATUS PAGE NETWORK STATUS The following are the meanings of each information showed in the Network Status Page: LAN Box WAN Box DHCP Client List Box It is the Network information of the DS-300 LAN side (connected from RJ45 Port to User s PC/Laptop) The Network information of the DS-300 WiMAX side. The IP is a Public IP. Shows the information of the PC/Laptop, which is connected to the DS-300 LAN side DHCP Server. 4. STATUS PAGE DEVICE STATUS The Device Status shows the Firmware Version, Hardware Model and WiMAX Frequency Range of the DS-300.

4 5. PERSONALIZATION - ACCOUNT In the Account section, Users can change their Password for their Web Login. 6. PERSONALIZATION - LANGUAGE

5 Users can change the Language for the Web UI to English, Chinese, and Japanese etc. 7. NETWORKING LAN SETTING On this page, Users can change the settings of the DS-300 LAN IP Address and Subnet Mask according to the requirement of each individual User. 8. NETWORKING FIREWALL SETTING

6 9. NETWORKING DHCP SERVER In this section, Users can set the DS-300 LAN DHCP Server settings.

7 The settings for DHCP Server is as below: 1. By Default the DHCP Server settings is enabled and the Default DHCP IP range is from to Users can either Enable or Disable the DS-300 DHCP Server. 3. Users can also change the DHCP Start IP, DHCP End IP, auto obtain DNS IP from ISP or manually set DNS IP, change the Domain Name and the DHCP max lease time. 4. Users can also have a permanent DHCP IP bind to a PC/Laptop Network Interface Card MAC address under Permanent Host Configuration. 5. After keying the settings, Users have to click Apply and Reboot for the new settings to take effect. TROUBLESHOOTING 1. If User s PC/Laptop cannot get an IP from the DS-300, please check whether the DS-300 DHCP Server has been Enabled. 2. If User cannot browse the Internet or browse certain websites, ensure that the User set the Primary DNS to tick the From ISP as certain Users may change the DNS configurations. 3. If Users cannot bind the PC/Laptop NIC MAC, check whether it is bind to the correct MAC Address by typing ipconfig/all in the Command Prompt for Windows OS. MAC Address should be in the format of 00:11:22:33:44:55

8 Note: If the User change the range of the Default LAN IP from to , the DHCP Server will accordingly change the DHCP Start IP address to and DHCP End IP address to NETWORKING PORT FORWARDING Port Forwarding helps you to open up a Port in the DS-300 so that Users can play Online Games, Host a Web Server or FTP Server, and many more. When a computer on the Internet sends data to the Public IP of the DS-300, the DS- 300 needs to know what to do with the data. Port Forwarding simply tells the DS-300 which computer on the LAN to send the data to. When you have Port Forwarding rules set up, your DS-300 takes the data off of the Public IP Address: Port Number and sends that data to a LAN IP Address: Port Number (in this case x). Port Forwarding rules are created per Port. So a rule set up for Port 53 will only work for Port 53. The DS-300 allows you to enter a range of Ports from 1 to 899 with a protocol selection of TCP, UDP and Both on the WAN Side and the LAN Side. WAN Port LAN IP Address LAN PORT Protocol Enable Delete Insert Apply It shows the range of Ports of the Incoming data from the DS-300 Public IP; should it be Open for the Port Forwarding rule. It shows which computer is connected to DS-300 LAN IP Address that should do Port Forward to. This is the range of Ports that the Incoming data should be forwarded to on the LAN Side. Is it the Internet Protocol that is allowed to be Port Forwarded in the Incoming data of the WAN Side. Tick this if you want to Enable this Port Forwarding Rule Click on this if you want to Delete this Port Forwarding Rule Insert another row of Port Forwarding Rule To Save the Port Forwarding Rule or to Save the changes that has been done. After this, you will need to Reboot the DS-300. TROUBLESHOOTING

9 If customer is not able to set the Port Forwarding or making it work: 1. Make sure the Port Forwarding range in both WAN and LAN is not more or equal to 900. For example the range must be to 30899, and not to Make sure the intended computer IP for the Port Forwarding on the LAN Side is the same IP as you set in the Web UI LAN IP Address 3. Make sure that the intended computer has turn off any Firewall programs or allow the Ports that have been set in the DS-300 Port Forwarding rule. 4. A Port can only be used by ONE program at a time. This means that you can only use Port 500 on ONE computer on the DS-300 at a time. Using Port 500 on two computers at the same time would violate the ONE program rule, and your data would get messed up. 5. Make sure you know and set the correct Ports for WAN and LAN in your Port Forwarding rule as this is always the common mistake. 11. NETWORKING PORT TRIGGER Port Triggering is Port Forwarding with an ON/OFF switch for the Ports that have been forward. This ON/OFF switch is turned ON or OFF by data flowing out of a Trigger Port. Port Triggering is a little more secured than Port Forwarding, because the incoming Ports are not open all the time. They are only open when a program is actively using the Trigger Port.

10 Note: Most Port Triggering setups DO NOT require you to enter a LAN IP Address to forward the incoming Ports to. This means that any computer on the network can use your Port Triggering setup. If two computers try to use the Port Triggering setup at the same time you will run into problems. Name Trigger Port Forwarding Port Protocol Enable Delete Insert Apply Is an Identifier of the Port Triggering rule. It is the range of Port that will be triggered ON/OFF when there is outgoing data that uses that range of Ports from DS-300 Public IP side. It is the range of Port that incoming data will be forwarded to when outgoing data triggers the Port Triggering rule in DS-300. Is it the Internet Protocol that is allowed to be Port Forwarded in the Incoming data of the WAN Side. Tick this if you want to Enable this Port Forwarding Rule Click on this if you want to Delete this Port Forwarding Rule Insert another row of Port Forwarding Rule To Save the Port Forwarding Rule or to Save the changes that has been done. After this, you will need to Reboot the DS-300.

11 TROUBLESHOOTING 1. Make sure that the intended computer has turn OFF any Firewall programs or allow the Ports that have been set in the DS-300 Port Triggering rule. 2. A Port can only be used by one program at a time. This means that you can only use Port 500 on one computer on the DS-300 at a time. Using Port 500 on two computers at the same time would violate the one program rule, and your data would get messed up. 3. Make sure you know and set the correct Ports for Triggering Port and Forwarding Port in your Port Triggering rule as this is always the common mistake. 4. Is the Port that you set for Port trigger is constantly sending data out to WAN as the length of time that the DS-300 keeps those Ports open needs to be taken into account. If the DS-300 times out between the gaps of outgoing data to WAN, the Port Forwarding connection will be severed. EXAMPLE: What happens when you are trying to download a very large file? Well the DS-300 you have setup Port Triggering for may not keep sending data out of the trigger Port. If it doesn't the DS-300 closes the incoming Ports, and your download is interrupted. 12. NETWORKING DDNS Dynamic Domain Name Server (DDNS) allows you to create a hostname that points to your Dynamic Public IP or Static Public IP address or URL.

12 Settings: 1. Tick on the Enable DDNS to enable this feature 2. On the Service Provider column, select the DDNS Service Provider Name that you sign up for this service. 3. In the Hostname, type in the Hostname that you created when signing up for the DDNS service with the selected Service Provider. 4. Under Username & Password, type in the Username & Password of the account that you created with the DDNS Service Provider. 5. Click Apply and Reboot DS-300 to Save the changes. TROUBLESHOOTING 1. Make sure that your Username, Password & Hostname is correct and is the same as with the account that you created with the DDNS Service Provider. 2. Certain DDNS Service Provider do not instantly link the Hostname that you have created in the DS-300, it would take between 5 minutes to 30 minutes for the DDNS Service Provider to update. 3. The DS-300 will automatically update the DDNS Service Provider the DDNS configurations that Users set, on every Reboot and connected to the Internet or if there is a change of Public IP assigned to it.
