2 iwish Platform innovative WISP Integrated Solution Hi-Technology iwish Platform is the RayTalk solution for every Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISP) that needs a neat, scalable and easy-to-configure network infrastructure. The platform is based on a set of software modules perfectly integrated, in order to develop different services: - Users Authentication & Management - Customizable Profiling (QoS and Full Access iwish Platforms) - Quality of Service Management (QoS and Full Access iwish Platforms) - Traffic Shaping for each single user (QoS and Full Access iwish Platforms) - Critical Services (e.g. VoIP) Protection vs. Bandwidth Consuming Application (FTP, P2P) (QoS and Full Access iwish Platforms) - Captive Login (Hot Spot Access and Full Access Platforms) - Network Traffic Monitoring Users can exploit several wireless (WiFi, WLL, HiperLAN ) or wired (xdsl) full-ip based Access Technologies, to connect to the WISP Core-Network, using Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) tunnelling. Network resources to connect to the Internet (and access the World Wide Web, Https, Mail, VoIP, VPN, NextThings,...). iwish Solution is divided into four different proposals: 1. iwish Accounting Server Platform 2. iwish Hot Spot Access Platform 3. iwish QoS Access Platform 4. iwish Full Access Platform iwish Accounting Server Platform iwish Accounting Server Platform iwish Accounting Server Platform realizes a Radius Server Solution able to manage: and it is able to co-work with the following devices : APs / NAS with IEEE802.1x authentication (no captive portal) APs / NAS with integrated authentication captive portal APs / NAS with UAM (Universal Access Method)

3 iwish Hot Spot Access Platform iwish Hot Spot Access Platform integrates a Radius Server with a Captive able to manage: Users authentication through Captive Graphics and statistics for devices monitoring and it is able to manage the following devices : APs / NAS with or without IEEE802.1x authentication (no captive portal) Pre-paid cards management Accounting via gateway SMS Geo-referenced advertising system iwish QoS Access Platform iwish QoS Access Platform integrates a Radius Server with a PPPoE Concentrator for Quality of Service administration : Application Level QoS for each single user (for example P2P filtering, VoIP prioritization ) Possibility to assign different priority and rate (SLAs) based on different traffic classification Real time auto-balancing of the not assigned bandwidth based on each user s minimum guaranteed bandwidth Graphics and statistics for devices monitoring and it is able to manage the following devices: Wireless Access Points PPPoE client CPE devices Application Level QoS administration for the whole network infrastructure Automatic generation of Raytalk CPE Configuration file

4 iwish Full Access Platform iwish Full Access solution integrates the Hot Spot Access Platform and the QoS Access Platform in a single product. It combines a Radius Server, a PPPoE concentrator with QoS administration and a Captive for: Application Level QoS for each single user (for example P2P filtering, VoIP prioritization ) Possibility to assign different priority and rate (SLAs) based on different traffic classification Real time auto-balancing of the not assigned bandwidth based on each user s minimum guaranteed bandwidth Hot Spot Users authentication through Captive Graphics and statistics for devices monitoring and it is able to manage the following devices: APs / NAS with or without IEEE802.1x authentication (no captive portal) PPPoE client CPE devices Application Level QoS administration for the whole network infrastructure Automatic generation of Raytalk CPE Configuration file Pre-paid cards management for Hot Spot solution Accounting via gateway SMS for Hot Spot solution Geo-referenced advertising system for Hot Spot solution *future development features iwish Full Access Platform integrates the Hot Spot Access Specifications and the QoS Access Specifications in a single product solution as detailed in the iwish Full Access Platform Session

5 iwish Platform Interface for WISP iwish Platform is installed at WISP Server side, and make the management of whole network very simple and efficient. The web interface of iwish Platform has several management portal with different purpose: from Users Management to Profile creation, from Report to Network Status Monitoring. Using these different powerful tools, WISP can provide a strong support to its services, creating for example different Subscriber Profile with different Bandwidth Requirements and different applications supported (VoIP, IPTV). WISP Account Login & Authentication From this portal is possible to login and access the administrative system of the iwish Platform. The access to the other portals is based on user privileges (defined by his WISP-account). This portal enables access to the system to authorized users and handles several levels of authorization. User Account Management This enables the Users Management, of the users connected to the WISP network. For each user are "stored" the most important personal details, as name, surname, address and other data. The Subscriber Profile "adopted" by a user is also registered together with the corresponding validation period. It is also possible to create new users and modify preexistent ones. A lot of advanced printing and searching tools are also available, to collects aggregated information. Subscriber Profile Management" In this is possible to create and modify the Subscriber Profiles, that are associated to the users. Each Profile is defined by means of an identification name and a set of parameters (such as Minimum Granted Bandwidth and Maximum Tolerated Bandwidth). Moreover the prioritization of Services (VoIP, P2P, FTP, etc...) is given for each Profile, by means of complex control mechanisms of Traffic Reservation.

6 Report Monitoring WISP can monitor user connections, in particular the visited web sites (by means of the IP address) with data and time. This is necessary for security reasons. Network Status Monitoring WISP can control the whole network. Through advanced graphical instruments WISP can entirely monitor and manage the network infrastructure, solves problems and anticipate inefficiency (for instance by introducing alarms activation). WISP Account Management In this portal is possible to create and manage all the WISPaccounts of the iwish Platform. It is also possible to create new WISP-accounts with different accesses and navigation privileges to the other portals. For each new WISP-account the platform manager must specify username, password and the accessibility to the other portals.

7 iwish Platform Services & Utilities iwish Platform is a powerful tool to enable a large number of services in a very simple and cost-effective way. WISP can develop a large number of services and integrate a lot of them, without troubles. All the complex mechanisms of Network Bandwidth Allocation Management are performed in a very efficient way by the platform. Using suited created Profiles, defined by means of a set of parameters and the prioritization of Traffic Classes (VoIP, P2P, FTP, etc...) is possible to support any type of WISP Services. iwish Platform offers a complete set of tools to monitor the Network Performance, and a very exhaustive set of reports. There is also an additional Billing Module to create and manage an economical analysis WISP WISPs deal with the continuous increasing of the number of connectivity and services requests Solution iwish Platform provides a modular solution, where both the network infrastructure and the offered services are characterized by high flexibility (for instance, by introducing priority traffic and subscriber profiles, but also automatic billing and a simple user management). Moreover, RayTalk solution allows the WISP network to extend or to evolve without the need of a system rearrangement. VoIP Users that ask for VoIP, needs a reliable service, able to substitute for the ordinary phone service. Therefore, VoIP must not suffer a performance decay due to an increasing of the traffic in the network Solution iwish Platform provides a reliable VoIP service, protected from the growth of low priority traffic, through a thorough analysis of the traffic flow on client. Video Surveillance iwish Platform supplies the opportunity to create profiles characterized by a granted band, well suited for video surveillance applications. Web TV iwish Platform permits solutions for the delivering of band-consuming contents. Future WISPs and Enterprises need to consider, and not underestimate, the ICT market evolution, strongly affected by new technologies, new user requirements, and new legislative and commercial scenarios.
