2 Overview This document provides an overview for integrating an Iwatsu Enterprise-CS system with an Esnatech Officelinx system using SIP voice mail ports and CSTA. ICON Voice Networks ships new Esnatech Officelinx systems with all software installed. These systems have been configured and tested on an Iwatsu Enterprise-CS system to insure the software installation of Esnatech Officelinx is complete. It is important to follow the instructions in this document to configure your Iwatsu ECS and Esnatech Officelinx systems to work together at your site and based on your local settings. After completing this document, your Esnatech Officelinx system will answer calls from the ECS with a default auto attendant greeting. You can then build your required mailboxes and menus based on the customer s application. For detailed documentation on configuring the Esnatech Officelinx system please reference Esnatech s online documentation: Iwatsu Enterprise-CS Configuration Follow the instructions below to configure your Iwatsu Enterprise-CS system and then configure the Esnatech Officelinx system. Before proceeding with the configuration of the ECS system, SIP licenses must be installed to accommodate the ports for the Esnatech Officelinx system. Requirements One ECS SIP license (PN: ) for each SIP Voic Port SIP Licenses required on ECS. You must have one SIP license for each SIP VM port. ECS Basic system port licenses installed in the system must be equal to or higher than the number of ports configured in the ECS system. ECS CSTA License (PN ). Valid ECS system software version license 8.0 or higher. E.g., ECS Version 10 license, part number IX-MBU card: The ECS system should already be connected and configured to operate on the Local Area Network (IX-CCSU LAN 2 and IX-MBU). Configuring ECS SIP Voice Mail Ports 1. Using the ECS Programmer in the Category (Ctg) mode, connect to the ECS system and download a current copy of the ECS database. 2. Under System>Hardware add a VIPSLT card for the configuration of SIP voice mail ports by locating an unused card number in any card slot in the ECS database and changing the Card Type from NONE to VIPSLT. 3. Do not configure the physical ports of the VIPSLT card, the ECS will configure the physical port automatically when you upload and disconnect from the ECS system. 2

3 4. Select Communication > Upload Database to System. 5. Select Hardware and OK, this action will upload the configuration change to the ECS. 6. Disconnect from the ECS and wait ten seconds for the upload process to finalize. 7. Reconnect to the ECS and download the hardware configuration. As illustrated in the screen capture below, the physical ports for the VIPSLT card added in step 2 are now configured as SIP SLT ports. 3

4 8. The next step is to configure these ports as SIP voic ports. Change the Definition parameter field from SLT to Message Station. Change the Function parameter field from to SIP or H.323 to SIP or H.323 VML. Parameter fields 1, 2, and 3 will automatically change to VM/AA, RFC2833 Event, and SIP, respectively. 9. Go to System > Voice Mail Integration and add the VM ports to Hunt Group 47. Shown in the example below are the station logical ports previously configured on the VIPSLT card. 4

5 10. Under Stations, add the Access No. (extension numbers) for each of the new VIPSLT card SIP voice mail ports. Shown in the example below are access numbers for logical ports Remove the Fixed Call Fwd. Destination from the VM ports. 11. Once complete upload the database changes to the ECS and disconnect from the ECS system. 12. Reset the ECS system. Configuring CSTA through the ECS IX-CCSU LAN2 Ethernet Port CSTA is used as the underlying phone system / computer integration mechanism between the Esnatech Officelinx and Iwatsu ECS. In the Esnatech documentation, CTI is the term used to indicate CSTA integration. CSTA is used for functions including message waiting lamp indication and station monitoring for features such as find-me/follow-me. An ECS CSTA license (PN: ) is required to enable CSTA on the ECS system. 1. For the CSTA interface to function, the IX-CCSU LAN2 Ethernet port is programmed in the ECS database using the ECS Programmer under System > Hardware > CCSU Ports as shown in the screen capture below: 2. ECS CTI Physical port 2052, must be configured as shown below for CTI Integration. 5

6 3. This completes the ECS programming. Proceed to Esnatech Officelinx Configuration on the following page. 6

7 Esnatech Officelinx Configuration When you receive your new Esnatech Officelinx server, only the specific information for your system is required. All required software has already been installed for you. Follow the instructions below to configure your new Esnatech Officelinx system. Requirements Local Area Network connection with IP address (Static IP address is highly recommended). Internet access from the Local Area Network. IMPORTANT! Esnatech Officelinx version 8.0 and higher licensing requires constant connection to the internet in order to function. If a system utilizing soft license loses connection to the internet, it will go on a 15 day countdown. If the internet connection is not restored after the countdown has ended, the license will become deactivated and the system will have reduced functionality. Power-Up and Login to Your Enterprise Esnatech Officelinx System 1. Power-up your Esnatech Officelinx server and make sure that you have a LAN and internet connection. 2. Esnatech Officelinx Server login, enter the following: Username Esnatech OfficelinxVM (If Esnatech OfficelinxVM does not appear as the username, you have selected the wrong user login) Password esnatech (all lower case) 3. After you enter the password, press the button to login. 7

8 Configuring the Esnatech Officelinx System This section details the Esnatech Officelinx Voice Mail configuration setup for the voice mail ports created on the VIPSLT card in the ECS system on page Go to Start > All Programs > Telephony Office Linx Enterprise Edition > SIP Configurator. 2. When the SIP Configuration Tool opens right-click Iwatsu and Set the Default Values for > Iwatsu ECS 4.x 6.0 or Iwatsu ECS 7.0+ (depending on your ECS software version). This action will default all fields to the correct parameters for an Iwatsu phone system. Selecting the correct Iwatsu ECS software version determines the DTMF Payload setting in step 3. 8

9 3. IWATSU is now displayed in the Name field under the General tab on the SIP Configuration Tool. Channels Enter the number of VM ports. IP Address Enter the ECS LAN2 IP Address. The Esnatech Officelinx will register to this IP address. DTMF Payload For ECS system Software Version 6.x and below = 100. For ECS system Software Version 7.x and higher =

10 4. From the SIP Configuration Tool > Advanced tab: Do not make any changes to the Advanced tab parameters. All parameters were configured correctly when you selected Iwatsu as the default PBX in step 2. Verify values are set as shown. 5. From the SIP Configuration Tool > Channels tab: Enter the Extension No. (Access Numbers) for the SIP VM ports that were created on the VIPSLT card in the ECS on page 5. IP Address Select the drop-down arrow in the IP Address field. Select the ECS LAN2 IP address entered under the General tab. Select the ECS LAN2 IP address for ALL of the SIP VM port extensions. 10

11 Register Select the Register checkbox for the extensions programmed. If not checked, the extensions will not register to the ECS. 6. From the SIP Configuration Tool > Register tab All fields are configured correctly at default. Verify values are set as shown. Registration Expiration = 300 seconds (5 minutes). This parameter value indicates how long the ports are registered to the ECS when the Esnatech Officelinx registers the ports to the ECS. If the ports do not register again after 300 seconds the ECS will take the ports OUT OF SERVICE. 11

12 7. From the SIP Configuration Tool > MWI tab All fields are correctly configured at default. No changes are required. Make sure your entries match the entries shown below. 8. Make sure that you select OK to save your changes. 9. Under PBX > General Settings All fields are correctly configured at default. No changes are required. Make sure your entries match the entries shown below. 10. Under PBX > Extension Pool All fields are correctly configured at default. No changes are required. Make sure your entries match the entries shown below. 12

13 11. Make sure that you select OK to save your changes. 12. Configure the Esnatech Officelinx VM ports under PBX Properties: From the desktop, double-click the Officelinx Admin Icon. Login: User Name = administrator (default) Password = 1111 (default) 13. Select OK. 14. From the Esnatech OfficelinxAdmin screen: Right-click > Iwatsu Iwatsu ECS SIP and select Properties. 13

14 15. From the PBX screen: Under the General tab Select the Voice Mail Extensions button. 16. At the Voice Mail Extensions screen pop, no data will be populated in the data fields. Extension Number Enter the VM port extensions. Voice Server Enter the computer name (the Esnatech Officelinx system name is selected from a drop-down menu, select Esnatech Officelinx. PBX Node Enter 1 for you PBX Node. Select OK. 17. Basic Setup of ECS and Esnatech Officelinx are now complete. 18. Reboot the Esnatech Officelinx. After the reboot, dial the access number to Hunt Group 47 and the Esnatech Officelinx VM will answer. There are no mailboxes, feature groups configured so calls ringing a phone that forward to VM will not go to a mailbox because the mailboxes have not been created yet. The default company greeting will answer for all calls. 14

15 CTI Configuration in Esnatech Officelinx Refer to the CTI Configuration section of the Esnatech Officelinx Server Configuration Guide ( for instructions on setting up the CTI (CSTA) link between the Iwatsu ECS and the Esnatech Officelinx. Programming Caller ID Pass Through on Officelinx Transfer to External Number When Esnatech Officelinx transfers an incoming CO call (trombone transfer) to an outside number through a PRI or SIP trunk, the Esnatech Officelinx sends the ECS the original caller ID received from the incoming CO call. If the PRI or SIP carrier accepts replacement of the calling party number, then the called party can see the original Caller ID instead of the Caller ID of the ECS. Note: Some PRI and SIP carriers do not accept changes to Calling Party Number (CPN). This feature is not applicable with those carriers. Dealer is responsible for verifying carrier support for this feature. This feature requires Iwatsu ECS Software Version 8.0 or higher. Originating Outbound Call Type SIP-VML Outbound Caller ID Sources Sorted by Priority 1. Calling Party Number in ISDN register in System Memory* 2. Trunks > IPNET/PRI Trunk Group Data (Class 29.09) 3. Stations > Access No. (Class 10.02)** * The Calling Party Number (CPN) in the ISDN register is used only when an incoming call comes into an Esnatech Officelinx and is then sent off-premise. No programming is necessary; the incoming Caller ID (if available) is automatically placed in the outbound header. ** When the Call Control obtains the number programmed in the ECS database from Stations > Access No. (Class 10.02) or Trunks > Access No. (Class 11.02), the + sign will not be added. 15

16 Programming From the Esnatech Officelinx SIP Configuration Wizard under PBX > Iwatsu > ANI tab make the following changes: Select the Ignore Caller ID check box. Select the Ignore Caller Name check box. Enter a value of 100 for the Caller ID Mode. Press OK. Conditions and Limitations 1. Requires Esnatech Officelinx software version 8.0 or higher. 2. A PRI or SIP trunk is required for the transfer. Requires ECS software version 8.0 or higher. The original CID will not transfer without a version 8.0 or higher license. 3. This feature is for calls transferred by Esnatech Officelinx only and will not appear as an ECS transferred call. 4. Some PRI and SIP carriers do not accept changes to the CPN. This feature is not applicable with those carriers. Dealer is responsible for verifying carrier support for this feature. 16

17 Important Notes 1. Esnatech Officelinx version 8.0 and higher licensing requires constant connection to the internet in order to function. If a system utilizing soft license loses connection to the internet, it will go on a 15 day countdown. If the internet connection is not restored after the countdown has ended, the license will become deactivated and the system will have reduced functionality. 2. Esnatech Officelinx Service Pack 2 ( ) and higher do not support the Hold/DND key operation from Iwatsu phones. If a call is transferred from voice mail to an extension in DND (via the Hold/DND key) the call is rejected and the Esnatech Officelinx will not answer the recall. Replace the Hold/DND key with the Hold/Quick Fwd key. 3. Dialogic D/41U and D/120 JCT PCI voice boards (discontinued part numbers & ) and Brooktrout Vantage voice boards (discontinued part numbers & ) are not compatible with Enterprise TOL version 8.0 software and higher. Esnatech Officelinx version 8.0 and higher requires ECS SIP Voice Mail Integration. Sites currently using Dialogic or Brooktrout boards for analog TOL VM/AA integration with ECS must be upgraded to SIP VM/AA integration. 4. ICON Enterprise Services is required if Enterprise Services is providing the CTI connection to the ECS system. END 17
