2 Solutions for All Your Sawing Needs... There is a DoALL metal cutting band saw that will meet your specific requirements. Whether you saw in a metal service center, fabrication or machine shop, tool room or in a maintenance department DoALL is the solution for all your sawing needs. The DoALL wide range of sawing machines includes: general purpose saws; vertical contour saws; miter cutting saws; and production power saws with capacities up to 32 inches in diameter. The following pages provide an overview of the DoALL standard band saw offering. How to Select & Order the Right Band Saw Use the chart on page 3 as a guide to select the right saw for typical sawing applications. Consider the following conditions in making your choice. Miter vs. Non-Miter Cuts. If material needs to be cut at any angle other than straight, choose a miter cutting band saw. Manual vs.. A manual saw does not automatically move material into a saw for cutting - the operator must manually move the material. Typically an automatic saw has an indexing section that feeds material into the sawing or cutting area. High vs. Low Production. In high production applications (6 or more hours per shift or high cutting rates) a heavy-duty saw, wide band, and more horsepower provide greater productivity and reliability. Design Capacity vs. Effective Capacity. A saw is most effective in materials from 1/3 to 2/3 of the rated size capacity. Using a 12 capacity saw is not ideal for cutting 12 solids all day. Exotic Materials vs. Mild Materials. Hard-to-cut materials, like Inconel and 316 stainless, are best cut with high production, heavy-duty machines and wide blades. Bundle Cutting vs. Two-at-a-Time. Bundle cutting is good when cutting long bundles into short bundles because it eliminates the need to break and re-strap the bundles. Cutting material two-at-a-time is often faster than bundle cutting. It also eliminates the potential of bars spinning and can be done on a smaller, less expensive machine. Standard Machine vs. Custom. Some applications benefit from unique saws or handling systems that accommodate unusual materials, enhance safety, or boost productivity. If a standard machine just doesn t seem to fit, ask about custom sawing solutions. Budget Constraint vs. The Right Machine. Purchasing a less expensive machine may fall within your budgetary constraints, but not selecting the right machine may cost you in lost production.
