6 Low Power Consumption Platforms To withstand harsh environments, especially intensive and/or critical shock and vibration, rugged systems usually adopt a fanless design. 9 PCBA Coating PCBA coating is a protective chemical coating that conforms to the circuit board topology. It protects electronic circuits from harsh environments that may contain moisture or chemical contaminants. By being electrically insulating, the PCBA maintains long-term surface insulation resistance and thus ensures the operational integrity throughout assembly. 10 Ingress Protection Design The IP Code classifies degrees of protection from dust, water and impact afforded by electrical equipment and enclosures. It is shown as two digit numbers. The bigger the number, the better the protection. The presumed applications for a rugged system determines its IP level request.
