1 IntelliBridge EC10 and EC5 Philips & External Devices Configuration Guide A Published in Germany 05/2012 IntelliBridge EC10/EC5 components Each IntelliBridge consists of three components: The IntelliBridge EC10 Module with the drivers. The IntelliBridge EC5 ID-Module, which connects to and identifies the specific external device. The connection cable (available in a selection of lengths). Using this Guide This guide describes how to specify an IntelliBridge EC10/EC5 solution for your customer. 1. Go to the table corresponding to the revision of the IntelliVue patient monitor into which the module is to be inserted. 2. Find the row for the external device to which your customer wants to connect. These modules are ed together. Only a certain number of modules from one can be used simultaneously by the model of the IntelliVue patient monitor. 3. If the customer wants to use more than one module from a : a. At the end of the row, refer to the column corresponding to the customer's model of IntelliVue patient monitor. b. Make sure they do not exceed the number of modules the monitor can support simultaneously.

2 Only a certain number of modules can be used simultaneously by the model of the IntelliVue patient monitor. 4. If the customer wants to use more than one module in their monitor: a. Refer to the last line of the table, in the column corresponding to their model of IntelliVue patient monitor. b. Make sure they do not exceed the maximum number of modules supported by the patient monitor. For further discussion with the customer, and for correct ordering, you will need to know the device driver designation, and the option numbers: 5. From the row for the external device, make a note of: The device driver for the IntelliBridge EC10 Module (for use with the part number ). The option number for the IntelliBridge EC5 ID-Module (for use with the part number ). 6. Check with the customer what length of connection cable they need. Use this to choose the correct option number for the IntelliBridge EC5 ID-Module (for use with the part number ). #L01 Connection Cable 1.5 m #L02 Connection Cable 3 m #L03 Connection Cable 10 m Example 1 A customer has an MP90, Rev G, wants to use their patient monitor with a Dräger Apollo anaesthesia workstation, a BBraun Space infusion pump system, and an existing VueLink module. From the table for Rev. G (see IntelliVue patient monitor Rev. G on page 3), in the column for MP60 - MP90, you will find: 1 IntelliBridge EC10 module with a Dräger Apollo driver can be used. So this is not a problem. 1 IntelliBridge EC10 module with a BBraun Space System driver can be used. So this is not a problem. Up to 4 VueLink modules can be used at any time. From the bottom line, the MP90 supports up to 4 modules. Therefore, all 3 modules can be used simultaneously. Indeed, a second VueLink module could also be used if necessary. Example 2 A customer has an MP40, Rev H, wants to use their patient monitor with a Dräger Apollo anaesthesia workstation, an Edwards Vigilance hemodynamic monitor, and an existing VueLink module. From the table for Rev. H (see IntelliVue patient monitor Rev. H and Rev. J on page 4), in the column for MP40 - MP50, you will find 1 IntelliBridge EC10 module with a Dräger Apollo driver can be used at any time. 1 IntelliBridge EC10 module with a Edwards Vigilance driver can be used at any time. Up to 2 VueLink modules can be used at any. However, from the bottom line, the MP40 only supports up to 2 modules. Therefore, any 2 of the 3 modules can be used in the monitor. Driver Availability Software and Instructions for Use The Instructions for Use for all drivers are available in the following languages: Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese (China), Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Traditional Chinese (Taiwan), and Turkish. The driver software may not be available in all of these languages. 1. Please refer to InCenter, at You have to log in to InCenter. Follow the instructions if you have no login. If you want to access the Instructions for Use: a. Move your cursor over the heading Service, then select Products & Solutions, and then Patient Monitoring from the list. b. In the list, scroll down to the heading Bedside Monitors and then in the opening list scroll to Modules / Clinical Measurements, then again an opening list. Scroll to IntelliBridge EC5 ID-Module and click on it. You now see a list of the available user and service materials, and in which languages they are available. If you want to access the firmware and drivers: a. Move your cursor over the heading Service, then select Software, and then Software downloads > Patient Monitoring from the list. b. In the list, scroll down to the heading Bedside Monitors and then in the opening list scroll to Modules / Clinical Measurements, then again an opening list. Scroll to IntelliBridge EC10 and click on it. You now see a list of the available folders, from which you can download the drivers or firmware. Please also check your local regulatory and business requirements for permission to sell. 2
