ARM7TDMI CPU is Performance-Enhanced Texas Instruments (TI) the largest licensee of Advanced RISC machines (ARM ) Ltd, builds on the ARM7 core with the following performance-enhancing features: Accelerator that facilitates 32-bit code execution at the maximum clock rate from Flash. 60-MHz HET Co-Processor with up to 32 dedicated I/O channels for capture, compare, PWMs and complex timing function generation. It can simultaneously control a three-phase motor, two stepper motors, vocoder, 8 PWMs, 8 counters, 8 period counters, interrupts for ADC, and more, independent of the ARM7 CPU. High-Performance, 16-Channel Direct Memory Access (DMA) Controller parallels CPU activity to maximize data transfers between address ranges in the memory map, including peripherals, without impacting system performance. 16-Channel, 625-Ksps, 10-Bit MultiBuffer ADC has a 64-word sample FIFO that dramatically reduces the CPU overhead necessary to service the ADC. High-End CAN Controller has up to 32 message objects, 32 receiver-identifier masks that filter and sort incoming messages. Hardware error checking ensures uncorrupted data transfers in noisy environments without CPU intervention.
