1 2014 Notebook Program This information package will include the following documentation to help you select and purchase a device for use at Wodonga Senior Secondary College in 2014 and beyond Notebook Options Brief descriptions of the 3 options available Option 1 Details for the Ultrabook Option Option 2 Details for the HD Multimedia Option Option 3 Details for the 2012 and 2013 Free netbook Option Frequently Asked Questions Covers general questions about the program Parent Information Sessions: We will be holding two parent information sessions, both held at the Wodonga Senior Secondary College Performing Arts Centre off Woodland Street. The First will be held on Monday night, 25 th of November at 6:00pm. The second session will be held on Tuesday Morning, 26 th at 8:00am. Each session will run for about 30 minutes with time for questions. Warranty and Accidental Damage Options 1 & 2 Devices will all be covered by a 3 year onsite warranty with no cost for any warranty claims Options 1 & 2 Devices are also covered by a 3 year Accidental Damage Policy (ADP). Any accidental damage such as broken LCD screen, broken keyboard, water damage etc. will be covered under this policy with a flat excess fee of only $15. We recommend that the device is listed under your home insurance to be covered in the event of a theft. Payments Options Ordering and Payments for the 2014 notebooks will be made via the schools online notebook purchasing page located at Multiple payment options are available including online bank transfer, credit card payments and access to an external finance plan. If you don t have access to a computer, you are able to complete the process at the Senior College office. The online purchasing page will become active after the 1 st Parent information session on the 25 th of November. Students using privately purchased devices at WSSC All students must participate in one of the 3 programs. These 3 options will have all the required software and will be dynamically updated when new software is required for individual classes. All subject areas have very specific software requirements that the school has site licences for, as such all students are required to bring the correct resources to class at all times. This includes the correct text books and computer devices. Students are able to complement their school purchased device with a privately owned device such as a tablet computer. This is not a replacement option and both devices will need to be brought to class at all times.

2 2014 Notebook Program Options. Wodonga Senior Secondary College has a strong curriculum based around the use of Mobile Learning Devices. The school is committed to every student having access to a notebook computer and as such have the following 3 options available. Options 1 & 2 all include devices with a touch screen and 3 years onsite warranty. Also included is an accidental damage policy that will cover accidental damage such as, broken screens, keyboards, hinges etc. with a capped excess of $15 for each claim. Option 1. Opt In Ultrabook with Touch Screen Following the great success of the 2013 Ultrabook Opt in program, this is our recommended option for The Option 1 Opt in Ultrabook provides the speed of a full sized notebook in a compact and lightweight package. Perfect for students who want access to all multimedia and video editing software, has a full days battery life, touch screen and easy to carry around Option 2. Opt in Multimedia Notebook with HD Touch Screen On offer is the next generation of notebook that was offered in This device is a high end notebook with a high spec graphics card and additional storage space. The Multimedia Notebook is an ideal device for students who are heavily involved with multimedia applications and require a device with a large LCD screen and high definition resolution. Option 3. Continue Using the Free WSSC Netbook or Old Opt in Notebook If the above 2 options are unable to work for families you are able to continue using the Free Lenovo Mini 10 laptop that was allocated in 2012 or It s important to note that these devices will not have the new Accidental Damage cover and original insurance excess amounts remain. $100 for the first claim, $175 for the second and $250 for any further claims. WSSC Desktop Computers We will also be keeping a fleet of High End Desktop computers for use in classrooms where subjects may require access to video editing, digital photography, advance programming applications and larger LCD screens.
