2 SMARTWORX VIVA V5.02 RELEASE NOTES - INTRODUCTION These Release Notes contain important information about the following softwares: - SmartWorx Viva software version 5.02 Please do take your time to read these Release Notes. The upgrade to SmartWorx Viva v5.02 should only be made if you are affected by one of the bugs below. It is strongly recommended you use the Leica myworld portal to upgrade your CS Field Controllers, and GS10/15, GS25, GS14 and GS12 Sensors with the new softwares. There is no new software available for TS Total Stations. Click to access the portal. Important please take care to read the following notes carefully Customer Care Product (CCP) dates The SmartWorx Viva software version 5.02 can only be loaded onto CS Field Controllers which have a CCP date of 01 June 2013 or later. The GS Sensor software version 5.02 can be loaded onto all GS10/15, GS14 and GS25 Sensors regardless of the CCP date. Jobs, Coordinate Systems, Working Styles, RTK Pros and other objects All SmartWorx Viva objects (such as Jobs, Coordinate Systems, Working Styles, RTK pros etc) created or used within previous SmartWorx Viva firmware versions can be used without problems in SmartWorx Viva v5.02 Version compatibility between CS Field Controllers and GS10/15 Sensors The new v5.02 softwares must be loaded to all CS Field Controllers and GS Sensors. It is possible to use a CS Field Controllers and GS Sensors Controller running SmartWorx Viva software v5.02 with a TS Total Station running SmartWorx Viva software v5.0. It is not possible to use a TS Total Station running SmartWorx Viva software versions earlier than v5.0 with a CS Field Controllers or GS Sensor running v5.02 software. NEW MEASUREMENT ENGINE FIRMWARE A new Measurement Engine (ME) Firmware 6.212 is now supported in all GS sensors. A new Measurement Engine (ME) hardware will be released in all new GS sensors.

GS10 with S/N 1535000 GS12 with S/N 1743000 GS15 with S/N 1515000 GS25 with S/N 1833500 GS08, GS08plus and GS14 will not be affected.

3 NEW MEASUREMENT ENGINE FIRMWARE A new Measurement Engine (ME) Firmware is now supported in all GS sensors. A new Measurement Engine (ME) hardware will be released in all new GS sensors. The change to the new GNSS ME hardware will happen with below serial numbers (SN). All GS receivers will be shipped with ME firmware from October onwards. GS10 with S/N GS12 with S/N GS15 with S/N GS25 with S/N GS08, GS08plus and GS14 will not be affected. GS10, GS12, GS15 or GS25 with the above serial numbers or higher require ME version For GS10, GS12, GS15 or GS25 with a lower serial number there is no need to upgrade, but of course is compatible to all GS receivers. SmartTrack - Glonass bias support The ME firmware ensures that the Glonass bias are correctly handled on the new GNSS ME hardware that will be introduced in future GS receivers. SmartTrack - Enhancements to Galileo tracking The new Measurement Engine Firmware contains enhancements designed to optimise the low elevation tracking of the new GNSS Galileo satellites. This is particularly useful when using raw data logging with Galileo applications. KNOWN ISSUES RESOLVED WITHIN SMARTWORX VIVA SOFTWARE The following issues which were present in SmartWorx Viva v5.0 have been resolved within Smart- Worx Viva software v5.02. In the PC simulator the sound does not work When using the SmartWorx Viva v5.0 simulator, the sound of the PC simulator did not work. With SmartWorx Viva version 5.02 all beeps are working again on the simulator. Unable to connect CS When using a version 5.0 GS Sensor with the version 5.0 simulator installed on SmartWorx Viva Release Notes v5.02 3/5

4 simulator to GS hardware with v5.00 on French Windows 7 a French Windows 7, there was a time zone synchronization issue and therefore the connection did not work. This issue is fixed with SmartWorx Viva version 5.02 Remote scanning performance improvements When using an MS50 Multi Station and a CS Field Controller for remote scanning, the user may experience performance issues when sequentially doing several scans with different scan definitions. These performance issues have been fixed in SmartWorx Viva v5.02. Please note that these changes have been implemented in the SmartWorx Viva build for the CS Field controller. A new firmware for MS50 MultiStation instruments is therefore not needed. Improved firmware upgrade via myworld A change in the myworld@leica Geosystems service has greatly improved the firmware upload speed for all GS, CS and TS instruments running with SmartWorx Viva version 4.50 or higher.
