3 ASN-128D History The first ASN-128 system was fielded in the early 1980s Since then, the Government and BAE Systems have upgraded the ASN-128 Doppler System to meet the prevailing needs of Army Aviation Upgrade #1: ASN-128A Addition of NVG display to be compatible with night vision goggle (NVG) fielding Upgrade #2: ASN-128B Addition of GPS Receiver, a four-line display, and remove obsolescence Receiver Transmitter Antenna (RTA) Control Display Unit (CDU) Signal Data Converter (SDC) GPS Antenna Upgrade #3: ASN-128C Addition of a Mil-Std-1553B capability (CCA) for MedEvac helicopter Upgrade #4: ASN-128D Addition of a SAASM GPS, IFR certification, and remove obsolescence
