6 VertexCom Vertexcom Wi-SUN Sub-GHz Wireless Modules Vertexcom Technologies provides development kits with various form factors for customer development and evaluation: Wi-SUN RF SoC mini module with UART interface, USB dongle, and M.2 module. The modules incorporate very low power consumption VC7300 Sub-GHz RF SoC of excellent sensitivity, selectivity, block-resilient and energy efficiency, making the optimum solutions for smart grid, smart home and IoT networks. SDK SDK for different types of hardware/ software platforms are provided for different application requirements: (1) Application software can run on the SoC along with the globally deployed Wi-SUN compliant protocols FAN; (2) Only FAN protocols run on the SoC; another MCU is needed for the system platform to run user applications; (3) Contiki based SDK is provided for private network protocol development. Wi-SUN Wi-SUN communication protocol allows seamless interconnectivity and interoperability between devices from different manufacturers. Applications are far beyond just FAN (Field Area Network) and smart meters; home appliances with Wi-SUN devices can connect to HEMS (Home Energy Management System) and form a HAN (Home Area Network). M2M (Machine-to-Machine) and IIoT applications can be easily implemented with a mesh network and Wi-SUN remote sensor devices.
