1 3 2-bit ARM Cortex TM -M3 based Microcontroller FM3 Family Ten products from the Ultra-low Leak group have been added to the lineup as the third group of products from the 32-bit microcontroller FM3 Family. This ultra-low power consumption series is the entry model for the FM3 Family. Overview The FM3 Family is a group of products that adopts Cortex-M3, the high-performance product manufactured by ARM, which fuses our rich experience with ARM core ASIC and the peripheral functions accumulated in our FR Family microcontrollers that have been supported in the market for many years. FUJITSU has added 10 products from the low-end Ultra-low Leak group to its 150 product lineup in the High-performance group and the Basic group, bringing the total number of FM3 Family products to 160. This group of products realizes dramatic reduction in power consumption and cost while employing the industry s top highperformance peripheral functions equipped in the Highperformance group and the Basic group. The reduction in power consumption achieved by the low power consumption CPU and power gating technology contributes to the extension of battery lifetime in battery-operated products. By addressing wide-range operation voltage support from 1.8 to 5.5V, it can be used in many battery-operated applications, including household appliances, medical products, and commercial digital AV devices. The reduction in standby power consumption enables an excellent balance between cost performance and low power consumption in sensor network products, various meters, usage registers, and so forth. The product lineup includes Flash memory capacity ranging from 64 to 126Kbytes and 48- to 64-pin packages. Product Features Wide-range voltage support to address various power supply systems The FM3 Family operates in a wide power supply voltage range of 1.8 to 5.5V. This addresses the need for 5V power supply voltage in household appliances, OA devices, many batteryoperated products, and a variety of systems. Equipped with various useful low power consumption modes In order to be useful in applications that require different power consumption levels, this product group utilizes power gating technology to provide six low power consumption modes (i.e., Sleep mode, Timer mode, RTC mode, Stop mode, Deep Standby RTC mode, and Deep Standby Stop mode). If the RTC mode is used for date and time management, it achieves a very low current consumption of 1.6μA. When the Photo 1 External View 1
2 Deep Standby RTC mode to turn off the power supply to the built-in Flash memory is adopted, current consumption can be further reduced to 1.2μA, which is the industry s lowest power consumption level among microcontrollers of this class. This product group is optimal for sensor network devices, meter devices, and power registers in products that have short operation periods and intermittent operations. High reliable, high-speed Flash memory that achieves the industry s fastest performance These products are equipped with highly reliable NORtype Flash memories with a 100,000 time rewrite count, a data retention period of 20 years, and no-wait access up to 20MHz. Group of peripheral macros that achieve high-precision motor control To realize the succession of the FR Family microcontroller peripheral functions, which have a high reputation in motor control, and to newly support the control of high-precision motors, the peripheral macros have been evolved. The high-precision, high-speed conversion 12-bit A/D converter in particular enables sensing using high-precision, high-speed sensors and delivers its true potential in applications in sensor network devices, smart grids, and so forth. Equipped with up to 8 channels in each unit, a variety of sensors can be traced with high precision and high speed. Figure 1 presents the block diagram of.
