Professors, Dept. of ECE, S.C.R Engg College, Chilakaluripet, Guntur (Dist.), Andhra Pradesh Abstract: A robot is a machine designed to execute one or more tasks automatically with speed and precision. There are as many different types of robots as there are tasks for them to perform. A robot is usually an electromechanical machine that is guided by computer and electronic programming. Many robots have been built for manufacturing purpose and can be found in factories around the world. Designing of the latest inverted ROBOT which can be controlling using an APP for android mobile. We are developing the android app by which we can control the robot motion by using voice command. And in which we use Bluetooth communication to interface controller and android. Controller can be interfaced to the Bluetooth module though UART protocol. According to commands received from android the robot motion can be controlled. Now-a-days the world is optimizing and is becoming more precise by switching from the world of personal computers to laptops to android phones. Human is moving and is accepting compact technologies so that, the gap between personages and the machines is being reduced to ease the standard of living. The purpose of this project is to design and implement a compound robot. The compound robot will be able to move in four directions (left, right, forward, backward) and will detect the distance of the obstacle from the robot on the android app. The main intent of this project is to design and bring about a robot prototype by using Arduino Uno, Motor Driver L293D, HC05- Bluetooth module and to procure the goal of this project, to gain knowledge about Ultrasonic sensor HCSR-04, reconcilable software and controlled motor circuit need to be determined. The robot will have several characteristics like continuous display of distance from the obstacle on the app, easy handling of a robot with the help of an app rather than any remote controller. Keyword: Wireless Technology, Android Application, Robotics, Voice based Controlling, Arduino Uno, Bluetooth HC-05, and LP393d. 1. Introduction Smart phones are becoming a basic need in day to day life with massive storage capacities, fortified processors, ample divertissement functions and vast communicating methodologies. Bluetooth is mainly used for exchanging data between different devices be it two smart phones or be it a robot and a smart phone. It mainly performs data transmission and even improve the characteristics of the smart phone, it was developed by telecom vendor Ericsson in 1994, shows its merits by incorporation with smart phones. It has changed the medium of how people use digital devices at home or offices and has brought wireless devices in existence. The basic element of a Bluetooth is piconet, which is a collection several slave devices operating together with one master. Maximum of seven slaves can share a common master through a same link. Even several piconet can link together and form scatters net. It is useful in-home environments, looking at its range or normal working area is 8 meters. Bluetooth has gradually increased users to prosecute smart phones, which have gingerly turned into a multipurpose portable device and are accessible to people for their quotidian use. Present day, android is widely accepted as an open source platform. Android consist of a complete package involving an operating system, middleware layer and core applications. A Smartphone is a cell phone built on a mobile computing platform, which has big number of boosted connectivity and computing ability than what a feature phone has. In this paper, we are overcoming the problem of traditional robots, which are usually handled with any remote controller. 2 making the robot move by just a click on the cell phone with android operating system. This paper proposes a system whereby the human voice becomes a specific key to manipulate a robot, but nowhere a speech recognition module is used. In this system an android application is used to recognize human voice and is converted to text. This text is further processed and used to control robot. Keeping in mind he need of the day (requirements of the present day), our goal is to move towards making accessible to the manipulation of everyday objects to individuals with motor impairments. But voice (or speech) recognition module involves a high cost when it comes to practicality (reality). Using our system we perform several studies on control style variants for robots. Results show that it is indeed possible to learn to efficiently manipulate real world objects with only voice (human voice) as a control mechanism. Our results provide strong evidence that the further development of voice-controlled robotics will be successful. 2. Objective of the Project The purpose of our research is to provide simpler robots hardware architecture but with powerful computational platforms so that robot s designer can focus on their research and tests instead of Bluetooth connection infrastructure. This simple architecture is also useful for educational robotics, because students can build their own robots with low cost and use them as platform for experiments in several courses. The purpose behind this research is to design a robot for the transfer of data from one end to other in firms to make the information movement easier by just a tap on phone, with the help of an android application on one s cell phone. The android app will help the robot to move in different direction and transfer the material intended, in fact it will help the robot to not collide with any paraphernalia, as the distance of the obstacle will continuously get displayed on the screen of the app. By just a Bluetooth connectivity an android app can handle the movements of a robot and can move it in left, right, forward and backward directions. 3. Implementation The robot is made up of an Arduino board, motor driver, 2 DC motors, and Bluetooth module HC-05 & Ultrasonic sensor. Firstly, the data from the android app is sent as an input to the Bluetooth module which further gives it to the Arduino Uno, Uno is a controller which controls the signals and performs the assigned functions it understands which signals have to be forwarded to the motor driver so that it moves in particular order. Like in if the user has tapped the left button on the app the Arduino will send the signal to the motor driver to activate the left pins and accordingly move the motors so that the wheels can follow the direction. HC-05 Bluetooth module HC-05 is a serial Bluetooth protocol of Bluetooth serial interface module and Bluetooth adapter. Bluetooth serial module is used for converting serial port to Bluetooth. Specifications: 1) Bluetooth Protocol V2.0 2) Range 10 meters 3) Frequency 2.4GHz ISM 4) Modulation GFSK 5) Transmit power 4dBm 6) Sensitivity 8dBm 7) Power supply V 8) Rate 2.1Mbps (Max.) As shown in the block diagram, User give directions through the app to the microcontroller with the help of Bluetooth module, then Arduino handles the motor driver which further supports the dc motors and enable the high signal at specific motor pins. The motor driver has several pins and those pins are for power supply, ground, and each dc motor have its own respective pins which when gets a high signal activates the dc motor, like pins 5,6 for the left motor and 9,10 for the right motor. Now the distance of the obstacle from the robot is calculated by the ultrasonic sensor which in turn gives a serial output on the app screen showing the distance. Now here it is simple to control your robot using Bluetooth module HC-05 and Arduino Uno microcontroller with your android Smartphone device. The controlling devices of the whole system are a microcontroller. The data receive by the Bluetooth module from android Smartphone is fed as input to the controller. The controller acts accordingly on the DC motor of the robot. The robot in the project can be moved in all the four directions using the android phone. The direction of the robot is displayed on the LCD display of the robot system. In achieving the task the controller is loaded with program written using embedded C languages. The L293 is designed to provide bidirectional drive currents of up to 1A at voltage from4.5v to 36V. The L293D is designed to provide bidirectional drive currents of up to 600mA at voltages from 4.5V to 36V. Both devices are designed to drive inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, dc and bipolar stepping motors, as well as other high current/ high voltage loads in positive supply applications. DC Motors Android Platform Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google based on Linux Kernel and is mostly wield with touch screen smart phones.android platform is reliable for building an android application, android is a common choice of people while they buy any cell phone. Android provides easy accessibility and understandability of different aspects for daily use. They are widely known as mobile computers and are expanding the sale of smart phones worldwide. They are widely accepted as they provide open architecture, platform independent and enormous capabilities. It is built from JAVA programming language and as android uses JAVA; android API provides easy access for hardware components. Android may use USB, Wi- Fi and Bluetooth for connecting with the robot. Android Studio: For building an android app android studio is looked for, android studio is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for android app development. The first stable build was released in December 2014, starting from version 1.0, based on NetBrains IntelliJ IDEA software, Android Studio is designed specifically for Android app development. It can be downloaded at Windows, Mac and Linux smoothly, and replaced Eclipse Android Development Tools (ADT) which is Google's primary IDE for indigene application development. It has Griddle based build support, Lint tools to catch performance and Almost every mechanical movement that we see around us is accomplished by an electrical motor. Electric machines are means of converting electrical energy into mechanical energy. Electric motor is used to power hundreds of devices we use in everyday life. An example of small motor applications includes motors used in automobiles, robot, hand power tools and food blenders. Micro-machines are electric machines with parts with the size of red blood cells and find many applications in medicine. version compatibility. 4 layout editor which allows users to drag-and-drop UI components, and even provide user with option to preview layouts on multiple screens. 4. Results & Execution The way of execution process is as follows, Application instructions 1 first make sure your HC-05 Bluetooth is paired with your mobile. Check the manual of Bluetooth module. 4.2 Click on the SELECT DEVICE icon to select paired Bluetooth module. 3 When we give voice command as FORWARD, the robot moves in the forward direction. 4 When we give voice command as BACKWARD, the robot moves in the reverse direction. 5 When we give voice command as RIGHT, the robot turns in the right direction. 6 When we give voice command as LEFT, the robot turns in the left direction. 7 When we give voice command as STOP, the robot stops its functioning. 8 Click on Disconnect icon to disconnect the paired Bluetooth module. 5. Conclusion Future Work The objective of the project is to realize the smart living, more specifically the home lighting system using the Bluetooth technology. Robot and smart phones is a perfect match, especially mobile robots. As phones and mobile devices are each time powerful, using them as robot for building robot with advanced features such as image processing. 5 communication among Bluetooth devices. It is concluded that smart living will gradually turn into reality that consumer can control their home remotely and wirelessly. The knowledge is ever expanding and so are the problems which the mankind strive to solve. In this spirit, it is hoped that the current activity will lead to further enhancements.
