2 The high functionality in data and power transfers, as well as the appealing design are features that distinguish this desktop/wall station for storage, locking and contacting applications. The UDS Universal Docking Station system consists of two basic sizes for desktop or wall use, or as a lid model for wall or front panel fitting. A variety of screw-on adapters also permits the use of these docking stations with many Rose+Bopla handheld enclosures. A four stage adjustable locking system provides the appropriate locking force for different applications. Screw-on adapters, with or without a clip, are used to mount the enclosure. If the existing locking force is insufficient for your application, for example, use with large equipment and high levels of vibration, additional springs can be factory-fitted on request to increase the locking force. The UDS-S is also designed for mobile use in-vehicle by means of matched mounting drill holes that are suitable for standard adapters and rocker switches. All enclosure contours are designed according to vehicle standard 74/60/EWG. Vibration and shock tests based on motor vehicle or lorry test specifications are available on request. Power and data transfer is done by special contact PCBs (available as accessories), which retain the ingress protection category of the handheld enclosure. On the rear of its base the UDS-L has a recessed installation area for the concealed fitting of plugs and inserts. 3 Locking Process A 4-stage adjustable locking system on the UDS...L/LT, S/ST provides the appropriate locking power for different applications: Stage 0=no locking Stage 1=minimal locking Stage 2=medium locking Stage 3=maximum locking For example, this makes it possible to lock the same vibration-proof handheld unit to a fork lift truck during the work process, and then insert it into the UDS without any locking effect during data transfer or charging on the desktop. 4-Stage Adjustable Locking System Note: If the existing locking force is insufficient for your application, for example, use with large equipment and high levels of vibrations, additional springs can be factory installed on request to increase the locking force. UDS...L can be wall-mounted by means of a 4-point suspension consisting of 2 encapsulated keyholes and fixed screwing points with screw covers. On the rear of the base there is an integrated hole for a concealed plug or insert installation. There are four installation levels for electronic PC boards. The lid contact UDS-6M-PK or UDS-6M-PS is fixed in the UDS...L / LT, S / ST by means of the terminal bridge and two screws (supplied). The handheld enclosure to be adapted must first be processed (see drawing, right). The transfer contact UDS-6F-K or UDS-6F-S is glued in position by means of the adhesive film (supplied). This does not affect the ingress protection category of the handheld enclosure.
