1 Cardkey S300 Enclosures Product Bulletin Code No. LIT Issued March 13, 2007 Supersedes April 10, 2006 Introduction Johnson Controls S300 enclosures provide a secure tamper-resistant housing for critical Cardkey security controllers and field devices. The enclosures and their components are available as replacement parts for damaged field enclosures or when expanding the security installation site with additional devices. 2 S300-DIN-L The S300-DIN-L is a large enclosure that hosts DINmountable controllers and field devices. This enclosure comes with the following: Model S300-DIN-L-PS power supply DIN rails Backplate Ground strap kit Up to three DIN modules can be mounted on the DIN rails. Example: Three S300-DIN-RDR2S modules, or one CK721 module and two S300-DIN-RDR2S modules. The enclosure can also hold a backup battery unit composed of two 12V lead-acid batteries in two battery brackets. Figure 6 provides an overview of the large enclosure with all components installed. S300-DIN-RDR2S modules are shown. 3 S300-DIN-S The S300-DIN-S is a small enclosure that hosts DINmountable controllers and field devices. This enclosure comes with the following: Model S300-DIN-S-PS power supply DIN rail Backplate Ground strap kit The backplate contains a power supply and a DIN rail for mounting a single DIN module. The enclosure can also hold a backup battery unit composed of two 12V lead-acid batteries in one battery bracket. Figure 7 gives you an overview of the small enclosure with all components installed. The S300-DIN-RDR2S module is shown. 4 S300-XL The S300-XL is a large, non-din expansion enclosure that contains the following: Model S300-PWR power supply Power indicator light The S300-XL enclosure can accommodate up to nine stacked field devices and a battery back-up unit. 5 S300-XS The S300-XS is a small expansion enclosure that contains the following: Model S300-PWR power supply Power indicator light The S300-XS enclosure can accommodate up to five stacked field devices and a battery back-up unit. 6 S300-XXS The S300-XXS is an extra small expansion enclosure that contains the following: Model S300-PWR power supply Power indicator light The S300-XXS enclosure can accommodate up to two field devices and a battery back-up unit. The S300-PWR accepts 24 VAC and provides the following DC power: 5 VDC at 1.5 A to power the CK720/CK705 CPU, any terminal boards, and readers. 12 VDC at 2.0 A to power reader lamps and output relays. Note: The S300-XFMR plug-in transformer must be used with each S300-PWR power supply circuit board.
