This document also defines acceptable cleaning agents used on the WCD LifeVest System Hardware. 2. REFERENCE DOCUMENTS 90R0047 Safety Guidelines for Handling Equipment 90F0112 Safe Handling and Cleaning Procedures for Serviceable ZOLL Product 3. CLEANING Approved Cleaning Agents Refer to the manufacturer s label for use instructions and safety precautions. Commercial Solutions Formula 409 Cleaner Degreaser Disinfectant (excluding Battery Pack) Approved Disinfecting Agents: Bleach diluted to 1:100 with tap water Isopropyl alcohol (Isopropanol) (2-Propanol) Adhesive Residue Removal A citrus-based adhesive remover such as Goo Gone may be used to remove adhesive residues left behind from removed labels and stickers. General Cleaning Instructions The general cleaning instruction for any device follow the same basic sequence of steps, as follows. (More specific steps for Monitors, Electronic Belts, Battery Chargers, Batteries, and Hotspot/Power Adapters are presented subsequent sections.) In general, thoroughly clean a device by performing the following recommended techniques and performing the device specific steps: Use a non-marring, round-tipped tool (e.g., spudger, toothpick, wooden cottontipped swab, etc.) to dislodge and remove residue in grooves, crevices, and other profiles Clean and disinfect with approved agents Use a cotton swab dampened with approved disinfecting agent to clean around connector housings. Do not allow any liquid to enter connectors Wipe down entire device using lint-free cloth towels lightly dampened with approved disinfecting agent. Allow surfaces to remain wetted for a minimum of 30 seconds before drying with a lint-free cloth and/or allowing to air-dry. Monitor Cleaning Steps Step 1 Remove Holster Prior to cleaning, remove Monitor from Holster and discard Holster Step 2 Inspect / Clean with 409 Rag / Brush

ZOLL Document Number: 90R0008 Page 4 of 11 Inspect Monitor for non-zoll stickers and sticker residue. If there are any, move Monitor to auxiliary cleaning line. Apply 409 to lint-free cloth towel to create the 409 rag. Do not spray 409 directly on the Monitor. Wipe shell of Monitor with 409 rag. (Figure 1) Be careful not to get any 409 in the connector or battery ports. To dislodge any debris that may be on the Monitor, use a soft-bristle brush wet with 409. (Figure 2) Use 409 already on the Monitor to wet the brush, or spray 409 directly onto the brush. Do not spray 409 directly on the Monitor. Keep 409 away from connector areas. If needed, use toothpicks or a spudger to dislodge any heavy debris. Then use a soft-bristle brush wet with 409 to again remove remaining loose debris. Figure 1 Figure Step 3 Clean with Cotton Swabs / IPA / 1:100 Bleach Rag Use cotton swabs and/or soft-bristle brush dampened with isopropyl alcohol (IPA or iso) to clean any debris that may be in or around the connectors, buttons, and battery port. (Figures 3 & 4) Wipe entire shell of Monitor with bleach rag dampened with 1:100 bleach solution. (Figure 5) Allow Monitor surfaces to stay wet for a minimum of 30 seconds. Be careful not to get any bleach solution in the connectors or battery port. Figure 3 Figure 4 Figure Step 4 Dry Monitor Dry Monitor with lint-free towel. Clean any streaks or smudges from Monitor with a lint-free towel lightlydampened with IPA. (Figure 6) SAFETY HAZARD: Do NOT excessively splash IPA onto the cotton swab; only apply enough IPA to get it wet. In addition, follow other safety guidelines for the station to prevent potential injury. Figure 6

ZOLL Document Number: 90R0008 Page 5 of 11 If needed, re-clean the battery port and response buttons with a cotton swab dampened with IPA. Place the Monitor in front of fan to dry. Electrode Belt Cleaning Steps Step 1 Prepare Belt for Cleaning If needed, remove Electrode Belt from Garment, and discard Garment. Prior to cleaning, if blue gel is present on Therapy Electrodes or Electrode Belt, wipe off using lint-free cloth towels lightly dampened with water. Dry with lint-free cloth Remove Velcros Velcro Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Version For Velcro attached with pressure-sensitive adhesive only, remove Velcro from back of ECGs using small longnose pliers and twisting them off. Be careful not to gouge or scratch the plastic housings. Clean off adhesive residue using lint-free cloth towels lightly dampened with Goo Gone. Be careful not to get adhesive remover on the Therapy Electrodes. Discard the removed Velcro Velcro Instant Adhesive Version For Velcro attached using instant adhesive, leave Velcro in place as the entire plastic housing must be replaced Velcro Retainer Version Remove Velcro from back of ECGs by using side cutters to cut off locking tab. Carefully slide Velcro out from window. Be careful not to gouge or scratch the plastic housings. Discard the removed Velcro Step 2 Pick TEs Inspect TEs and other parts of the belt for non-zoll stickers and sticker residue. If there are any, move the Belt to auxiliary cleaning line. Use wood toothpick to pick TEs to remove any debris around the foil edges (Figure 7) Pick around the safety sticker and bottom of the gas generator (Figure 8) Figure 7 Figure 8

ZOLL Document Number: 90R0008 Page 6 of Step 3 Clean TE Foil Holes Preferred tool for cleaning TE foil holes is a wooden, cotton-tipped swab (Figure 9). Figure Visually examine foil holes for dirt. If there is no dirt or the belt may not have been worn, foil holes do not need to be cleaned. Pass belt to next station Based on amount and type of dirt, clean foil hole with cotton end of swab (light/medium dirt) or wooden end (heavier dirt, generally around foil hole edges). If needed, switch from cotton end to wooden end for more effective cleaning Cleaning Technique (for both Cotton and Wood Tip) Hold swab about 1 above end with fingers touching. Hold the swab perpendicular to the surface of the foil. Position tip of working end inside foil hole and apply light downward pressure. Move swab in a circular motion while applying moderate pressure against inside of foil hole. Complete no more than 5 cycles over at least 2 seconds for each TE foil hole. Check to see dirt has been removed for each TE before continuing to next TE. Replace swab after cleaning all TEs for one belt, or as needed according to dirtiness or wear Brush away dirt loosened from foil surface, and determine if more cleaning is required. Repeat cleaning/brushing, as needed For dirt in innermost (gel escape) hole, carefully use toothpick to pick out remaining dirt. This can be done at current station (if time allows), or off-line (e.g., Aux cleaning area, etc.). Be careful not to pierce the hole with the toothpick; this will cause the gel to leak. Cautions: 1. Use only light, downward pressure. Too much downward pressure can bend edges of foil hole inward, cause a gel leak, or tear the ring seal. 2. Do not hold swab at an angle to foil surface. This can potentially catch tip on edge of ring seal. 3. Do not use tip to dig out material. If correct use of either tip cannot remove dirt, carefully use a toothpick to remove remaining material. 4. If it feels like the swab (either end) is catching inside TE foil hole, check if correct angle is being used or swab is worn and must be replaced Use a dry brush to remove any remaining debris from the TE foils

ZOLL Document Number: 90R0008 Page 7 of Step 3 Pick ECGs Use wood toothpicks to pick ECGs to remove any debris around the dome edge, ECG covers, and ECG sidewalls (Figure 10) Step 4 Clean ECGs Spray 409 on soft-bristle brush. Entirely scrub each ECG to remove any remaining debris Step 5 Wipe Entire Belt Wipe down entire belt with a lint-free towel generously-dampened with 1:100 bleach solution (bleach rag). Allow Belt surfaces to stay wet for a minimum of 30 seconds. Be sure to not get bleach solution inside the belt connector. Clean belt connector and overboot with cotton swabs dampened with isopropyl alcohol (IPA or iso). If needed, a dry, soft-bristle brush can be used to loosen material, followed by cleaning with a cotton swabs dampened with IPA. SAFETY HAZARD: Do NOT excessively splash IPA onto the brush; only apply enough IPA to get it wet. In addition, follow other safety guidelines for the station to prevent potential injury. Clean the top of the gas generator and distribution node with a soft-bristle brush dampened with IPA to remove any remaining debris Step 6 Dry / Check Entire Belt Figure 10 Figur Dry the ECGs with a lint-free cloth. Check the entire belt TEs, ECGs, Belt Connector, Cables, Distribution Node, and Gas Generators for any remaining debris. If debris is found, notify a Team Lead, and return the belt to the beginning of the line. If needed, shine the foil side of TEs by: Wiping the foil with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with 1:100 bleach solution and Immediately wiping the foil with a dry, lint-free cloth until dry. Put the Belt on the drying rack above the fan to dry. Battery Charger Cleaning Steps Battery Chargers and power supplies / cords that are received together shall be kept together through the cleaning and subsequent evaluation process.

ZOLL Document Number: 90R0008 Page 8 of Step 1 Clean with 409 Rag / 1:100 Bleach Rag Inspect Battery Charger for non-zoll stickers and sticker residue. If there are any, move the Battery Charger to auxiliary cleaning line. Apply 409 to lint-free cloth towel to create the 409 rag. Do not spray 409 directly on the Battery Charger. Wipe shell of Battery Charger with 409 rag. (Figure 11) Be careful not to get any 409 in any connectors or the battery port. Wipe down the Battery Charger power supply and cords with 409 rag. (Figure 12) Wipe shell of Battery Charger with bleach rag wet with 1:100 bleach solution. (Figure 13) Allow Battery Charger surfaces to stay wet for a minimum of 30 seconds. Be careful not to get bleach solution in the connector/battery port. Wipe down the Battery Charger power supply and cords with 1:100 bleach rag. (Figure 14) Allow power supply and cord surfaces to stay wet for a minimum of 30 seconds.
