1 Training Notes Unity Real Time 2 For Customers Using SPC (Westgard) Rules Log on to Unity Real Time 2 1 Double-click the Unity Real Time 2 shortcut located on your computer desktop. 2 Select your user ID from the User 3 Type your password in the Password field. Add a Lot Tip: Add a lot only when starting a new type of QC material. See Duplicate a Lot if you have a lot change for a QC material that already exists in the software. 1 Click. Working with Lots Duplicate a Lot Tip: Use the Duplicate Lot feature whenever you have a lot number change after all lots are set up in the software. All tests under the old lot are duplicated to the new lot. 1 Select the lab number in the navigation tree containing the lot you want to duplicate. 2 Click. 3 Select the lot number in the Open lots list you want to duplicate. 4 Click Duplicate. 2 Select the Bio-Rad control from the Control name 3 Select the master lot number for the control from the Lot number 4 Click Add. Tip: Only unexpired lot numbers in the same product group appear in the Lot number The new lot number appears at the bottom of the Open lots 5 Repeat steps 2 4 to add additional lots. 6 Click Close to close the Lot dialog box. Note: See the Unity Real Time 2.0 Reference Guide for information on adding non-bio-rad lots. 5 Select the new lot number from the New lot number 6 Click OK. 2 Manage Your QC Data Perform a Bench Review Note: The Bench Review is for point QC data only. Summary QC data does not appear in the Bench 1 Click the Review menu and then click Bench 2 Select the options for the QC data to review. 3 Review your QC data. Tip: Selecting the Include only rule violations option allows you to focus only on QC data requiring your attention. View a Levey-Jennings Chart from the Bench Review Tip: You can view a Levey-Jennings Chart instead of the Bench Review grid to review suspect QC data or as a supplement to the Bench Review grid. 1 From the Bench Review grid, click Go to Chart. 2 Investigate the suspect QC data. Position the mouse over the suspect QC data point to view the details. 3 Click to close the Levey-Jennings Chart and return to the Bench Manually Accept or Reject QC Data in the Bench Review You can manually accept or reject QC data in the Bench Select or clear the check box in the Status column to switch between accepting and rejecting the QC data. Bench Review are shown on the data entry Review the Summary Data Report click Summary Data Report. 5 Review the Summary Data Report. Review the Point Data Report click Point Data Report. 5 Review the Point Data Report. Add an Action in the Bench Review 1 Click in the Action column for the QC data you want to add an action to. 2 Select an action and click Apply. Bench Review are shown on the Data Entry Add a Comment in the Bench Review 1 Click in the Comment column for the QC data you want to add a comment to. 2 Type the comment in the New Comment field and click OK. 3 Document the Bench Review 1 From the Bench Review grid, select the All data option. 2 Indicate review of the QC data: Select the Reviewed check box to indicate review of all QC data points on the page, or Click an individual Reviewed check box to mark to the left of a test to indicate review of the QC data in the row. 3 Click Save or Save and Transmit. 4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all pages of the Bench Create a Data Review Report 1 Click the Reports menu and then click Data 2 Select the options for the report. 3 Click OK. 4 Review the Data Review Report. Review the Point Data Report click Point Data Report. Send Your QC Data to Bio-Rad for Peer Group Comparison Send Your Data to Bio-Rad 1 Click the Tools menu, point to Unity Interlab, and then click Send data to Bio-Rad. 2 Make sure the Send data to Bio-Rad check box is selected. 3 Click OK. A message appears confirming your QC data was successfully transmitted to Bio-Rad. Tip: Use the following steps if you want to configure Unity Real Time 2 for automatic monthly data submission. Important! The Unity Real Time 2 software must be running in order to send data if you are using this feature. 1 Click Tools and then click Setup. 2 Select the Automatic monthly transmission check box located in the Transmission section. 3 Select the day of the month you want the software to automatically send your data to Bio-Rad. 5 Review the Point Data Report. 4 View Your Peer Group Reports (Unity Interlaboratory Reports) 1 Start an Internet browser window and go to 2 Log on with your QCNet login ID and password. 3 Click the View My Unity Reports link. 4 Point to Reports and then click My Reports. Software Support If at any time you need assistance with the Unity Real Time 2 software, call the Software Support center. United States Hours are 5 am to 5 pm PST, Monday through Friday. Canada Select your lab number from the Lab 6 Select the lot number or All Lots from the Lot 7 Select the type of report or All Report Types from the Type 8 Select the month for the report(s) from the Period 9 Click to print the report or click to save the report. View Unity Bulletins 1 Start an Internet browser window and go to 2 Log on with your QCNet login ID and password. 3 Point to Unity Interlab, point to Unity Bulletins, and then click the option you want: By Date Issued Click the date of the Unity Bulletin you want to view.
