1 Installing Marin License Manager Version 1.0, September This section contains instructions for installing the Marin license Manager. The Marin License manager is needed if you want to use floating license models with certificate-based or trusted storage-based Marin product licenses. The marin License Manager requires the installation of several other products. These products will be installed automatically if not already installed on the system. Prerequisites: Java Runtime Environment version 1.6 or later. Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1. FLEXnet Publisher License Server Manager Run the installer setup.exe If Prerequisites are needed those are installed first.

Run the FlexNet Publisher License Server Installer and accept the default settings. Additional information that will help you is given in the following list of installer dialogs.

Choose Install Folder - Do not install the lmadmin license server in the same folder as an existing FlexNetPublisher installation. Service Configuration - While it is possible to manually start and stop the lmadmin license server manager, it is recommended that you install it as an operating system service so that it will automatically start whenever the operating system restarts. The installer will set up the service for you on Windows. Start the Server - It is recommended that you select Start server now. If the server is started successfully, the License Server Manager Interface is displayed. The next section will describe the installation of the lmadmin license server. You need to have admin privileges to run this installer. Click Next to continue.

3 Keep the default setting to install the license server manager and click Next to continue. Click Next to continue if there is no previous FlexNET Publisher license server installed.

4 Click Install to start the installation. Make sure to select the Install Visual C SPI Redistributable Package before clicking Next. You should get the next license agreement dialog.

5 Click Yes to agree with the license agreements for the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable package. Wait until the package is installed. In the next steps you will configure the FlexNET Publisher license server.

6 Use the default settings (HTTP Portnumer 8080 and license server port 0). Click Next to continue. Make sure to select Run as a service before clicking Next.

7 Do not select Start server now. The server will be started after complete configuration. Click Next to continue.. Click Done to complete this installation.

8 Installing the Marin License Manager server This section contains instructions for installing the Marin License Manager server. Run Marin_License_Mgs.exe to install. The first step is to configure lmadmin to use the marinlmd license daemon. The marinlmd deamon is needed together with the FlexNET Publisher license manager to support Marin product license requests. Run the installer setup.exe Click Next to continue.

9 Click Next to continue. Do not change the default installation location. It is important that the Marin license daemon is installed at the same location as the lmadmin license server manager.

10 Select the License file to be used by the Marin License Manager. This is the file you received from Marin with the license code for the products you have purchased. Click Next to continue Click Install to start the installation and configuration of the Marin License Manager.

11 Wait until the installation completes. Click Finish to complete the installation process. Done installation complete.

12 FlexNET Publisher MARIN License server The FlexNET publisher server is operational and available through a webinterface at: Set the Licenses to marinlmd, click Select and Concurrent to view all available licenses which can be issues by the marinlnd daemon.

13 Use of the Dashboard requires no additional login. To change or add licenses the Administration login needs to be used. Click Administration. When lmadmin is first installed, the administrator user name and password are both set to admin. Use this information when you first sign in to FlexNET license manager as Admin. You are required to change the password after the first login. In Administration mode there are 6 settings of which ONLY 1 is needed to update license information: Vendor Daemon Configuration. The other 5 are only for viewing and changing system information.

14 Using the Vendor Daemon information a license file can be imported. After importing this license file license for the products are available on the license server. Use the Browse button to locate the license file to upload. Select Overwrite License File on License Server and click Import License. As a result of the import the License file is imported and the licenses are available within a few seconds to be used. You can check the available license on the Dasboard.
