If a monitored user is on the phone you ll see a notification icon next to that person s name. Call monitoring options Monitor allows you to listen in and monitor another user s call. There are three options for you to join the call, not just listen to it: Whisper lets you talk to another user during a call, without the caller hearing. You can use this to coach users and help them handle calls. Barge allows you to join the call and get involved in the conversation. Take over lets you take over a call and free up the other user. Call monitoring works best if you have a phone with presence capability, including status indicator lights that let you see who s available, busy, or on hold. To retrieve a parked call if you don t have a pickup softkey on your device or app, press the star (*) key, then the extension number where the call is parked. Remember to only use call park if you want another user to pick up the call, otherwise press Hold. If the parked call has not been picked up after a set time, the call will ring back to the phone where the call was answered and parked from. 9.3 Park locations A Park location is a group of users who can park calls for each other on a dedicated extension.
