1 ow to Install Voice Meeter Banana and the VB- Cable For Skype First you will need to click on this link which takes you Voice meeter Banana webpage Scroll down the webpage until you see this section. Click on download and save to your hard drive, unzip and install the programme. INSTALLATION: Run Setup program in administrative mode. Reboot after installation. This Package installs both programs: Voicemeeter & Voicemeeter Banana. See User Manual and Video Tutorials Next click on this link to download the VB-Audio Cable Create a new folder in documents in windows explorer label this VB_Cable then unzip the downloaded zipfile into this folder. INSTALLATION: Extract all files from the ZIP into VB-Cable folder and run Setup Program in Administrator Mode (Reboot after installation or de-installation). Scroll down the webpage to you see this image

2 Open up the VB-Cable folder and click on VBCABLE_Setup_x64.exe run as administrator Click to Run install. Now you should see this on your screen. Click on Install Driver button.

3 Open VoiceMeeter Banana To enable voice meter to open every time you to startup your machine. Left click on the menu button at the top Right of Voice meeter program.

4 And select System tray (run at startup)

5 Setting Up Microphone Input Now Right Click on the Select Input Device underneath HARDWARE INPUT 1 and select the laptops internal microphone. You can rename the hardware input by right mouse clicking on the name HARDWARE INPUT 1 it opens a box and you can type in microphone. Then click return.

6 Next click on select Input Device for HARDWARE INPUT 3 and select WDM:CABLE Output (VB- Audio Virtual Cable) This allows you to hear the other person on Skype through your system. You can right mouse click on the HARDWARE INPUT and rename Skype. SETTING UP HARDWARE OUT Click on the button A1 and select your speakers out for your laptop.

7 Next we need to set up the buses. A Bus is a output channel that send audio to the output devices. without going into great detail at this time just select or deselect the buses on system as shown below. The selected buses are highlighted in. You can select or deselect by clicking on the buttons. Deselected Selected

8 Correct selection If you select A1 on the microphone you would here yourself speaking and would be distracting selecting A2, B1, & B2 means the person on the other end of skype hears you and a signal is sent to the recorder Selecting A1 on the skype channel means you hear the person on skype, deselecting B2 stops a loop back through skype. Selecting B1 on the voice meeter VAIO means that anything you play on the computer like mp3 and guitar pro or YouTube is played through to Skype and the internal recorder. Setting up SOUND DEFAULTS IN WINDOWS Open Control Panel in windows In Windows 10 Righ mouse click on the Start button in the bottom left corner of your screen. The click on Control Panel.

9 Click on Sound Set Default Audio and communication devices as shown below. To set default click on the item the click on set default button.

10 Click on Recording tab Set defaults as shown Click apply then OK to exit Sound Settings.

11 Setting up Skype Launch Skype and login In the Top Menu bar Click on Tool then Option, then Audio Settings In the microphone dropdown section select Voicemeeter Output(VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO as shown below Now select the dropdown menu for speaker and select Cable Input(VB- Audio Virtual Cable)

12 You can select Cable Input for the Ringing. Please also deselect Automatically adjust Microphone settings box. Your skype settings should now look like this Click save and exit Tools.

13 Checking System In Skype click on Echo/Sound Test Service You should see the here the skype ringing and test message. You should also see the sound meter in the skype channel responding to the sound. When you are asked to leave a message speak and your microphone channel should respond in the audio level meters. All being well you should have configured Voice meter banana and Skype and you will hear the message played back to you. Using the Echo Test call you can call and play something on youtube and also talk into the microphone at the same time. The playback should have the two sounds recorded correctly. Try the same thing this time playing a mp3 and talking at the same time. To record while yourself playing with a backing track Click all the buttons by the side of the cassette then left mouse click on the far right Master Selection Channel until it says Composite

15 Click on post fader then Virtual BUS B2 Click x to exit Now when you click on the record button under the cassette you will record all inputs into a Wav file You can change the target directory where you want to save the files and the file format by click on button File Type That should be it.
