1 Evernote Overview Evernote is a cross-platform application/cloud-based service that serves as an easily searchable centralized modern workspace for all your work, reference material, and knowledge. Almost any media type (images, text, business cards, s, web pages, live or saved photos, paper scans, PDFs, hand-written and audio notes, etc.) can be saved and indexed, organized into Notebooks and Stacks. Notebooks, and the notes within them, can be configured for sharing, collaboration, in-app discussion, or protected to provide access to participating Evernote and Non Evernote users. Tags provide a quick way to filter notes by keyword or key phrases. Cloud-based, Evernote is accessible anywhere even offline. Your data and/or team data is accessible from all popular web browsers, desktop application (Mac & Windows), mobile phone or tablet (iphone, Android or Windows).

2 Take notes A note is just what it sounds like any piece of information or idea you want to save for later. You can keep pretty much any type of content in a note.

3 Many ways to take notes You can keep pretty much any type of content in a note. Here are some ideas: Type, write, or even record audio notes from any meeting. Annotate photos and PDFs for quick communication with teams working remotely in field offices or building sites. Photos of anything that might inspire new ideas, new designs, or

4 new compositions. Snap photos of a whiteboard or Post-it Notes from a brainstorm session. Scan contracts, legal documents, receipts, or business cards. Use your computer, mobile phone, or tablet to create any kind of note and recall them as needed. Add other types of content to a note When you select or tap to edit your note, select from the available icons that appear in the note editor: Attach files of any kind Add checkboxes (clickable) Add bulleted and numbered lists Add photos from your camera roll Take a photo with your camera or webcam Record audio

5 * Evernote now provides a draw mode in its mobile apps. More Ways to Create Notes See the following for more ways to take notes: Checklists: Use checklists to manage tasks. Create reminders to manage tasks: Use reminders to keep track of notes that contain time-sensitive information, and receive in-app, , and push notification alerts for upcoming tasks and events. Annotate your notes: Clarify and solicit feedback by annotating an entire note, an individual image, or a PDF. Use lines, shapes, arrows to comment, clarify, and collaborate. Forward s directly into Evernote: Forward digital receipts, travel reservations, or weekly electronic newsletters directly to your Evernote account. Scan business cards: Use the ScanSnap Evernote Edition scanner to capture photos of business cards, extract and save contact details from the card into Evernote, and match with LinkedIn profiles. This scanner also scans and automatically saves receipts and other documents into designated notebooks. Evernote Clipper: Save multiple screenshots of anything on your screen along with additional text into one note.

6 Clip web pages: Save sections and entire pages clipped from the web from any desktop computer. Once saved, contents can be annotated, edited, and shared with others Organize with notebooks Notebooks are collections of notes. Every note you create is saved to a notebook. By default, Evernote saves notes to the notebook that came with your new account. Create additional notebooks to organize your notes around the topics that matter to you and your team. Organize your notes so they'll be easier to find later. You can organize notes however you want to by project, product, department, client, or quarter, for example.

7 Organize with tags What can I do with tags? Tags let you add keywords to notes, making them easier to find and browse when you ve got a lot of them. Use tags when a note might apply to more than one category or when you want to filter results in a

8 certain notebook by a keyword. You could use tags to associate notes with categories, memories or locations. Examples: Project management: Add a tag to identify the project state (active, next, completed) or to the spec number or feature. Task management: Add a priority label to notes (p1, p2, p3). Recruiting: Add a tag for the location of a position or the hiring manager (nyc, tokyo). Research: Add a tag for the relevant company or project More Ways To Organize Notes Evernote provides additional ways to bring organization to your notes. Examples: Table of Contents: Automatically generate a table of contents for notes contained within a Notebook. Note Link: Link from one or more notes to another note to create note relationships (not limited to one notebook) Merge: Consolidate related notes into one note (ex: and string). Note Copy or Move: Quickly copy or move a note to another Notebook

9 Find what you need Everything in Evernote is searchable, including the contents of notes, notebooks, tags, and attachments. Evernote s search lets you get really granular, but this just means you have a lot of ways to find what you are looking for.

10 You can search for notes and notebooks by: Keywords or tags Contact info in business cards Handwritten or typed text in photos Text in attached documents and PDFs Notebooks other colleagues have shared Team members who know about a topic at your company Notes related to internet search results (with Evernote Web Clipper) You can search within your entire Evernote account, or filter by notebook, creation or update date, and geographical location where the note was created. If you use a particular search frequently, you can save and add it to your shortcuts for quick access. Evernote also offers advanced search syntax for even more targeted searching. Share notes Evernote makes it easy to share notes with others. Share notes such as meeting agendas, design ideas clipped from the web, travel itineraries, reports, or project task lists.

Use shared notebooks to: Organize a group project Collect all your meeting notes, files and to-do lists in one place.
