1 Pearsn VUE Frms f Candidate Identificatin This dcument prvides infrmatin n the Pearsn VUE standard identificatin (ID) plicies. Test administratrs must fllw these plicies when checking in candidates at test centers. There are three tables t reference in this dcument: Tables 1-2: Frmer Standard ID Plicy & Pearsn VUE Glbal ID Plicy The first tw tables cntain the standard ID plicies that mst exam spnsrs fllw. Sme exam spnsrs have unique ID plicies that are nt standard. Always refer t the exam spnsr s client reference t determine which plicy t use. Pearsn VUE is implementing a new standard ID plicy called the "Pearsn VUE Glbal ID Plicy." In these tables, yu will find infrmatin n the new plicy and frmer plicy, which is called the Frmer Standard ID Plicy. T ensure a smth transitin t the new plicy, exam spnsrs will gradually switch ver t the new plicy instead f all at nce. Yu must pay careful attentin t an exam spnsr's ID plicy in the client references and admissin steps. This ensures yu fllw the crrect standard plicy within this dcument. Bth the frmer plicy and new plicy will remain in this dcument until all exam spnsrs have transitined t the new glbal ID plicy. Table 3: Additinal Infrmatin Regarding All ID Plicies The infrmatin in this table applies t bth the Frmer Standard ID Plicy and the Pearsn VUE Glbal ID Plicy. It includes clarificatin n the fllwing tpics: Lcal-language (nn-rman r nn-english) IDs and rules fr accepting them Expired r damaged IDs IDs that are unacceptable, such as thse issued frm sanctined cuntries TABLE 1: Frmer Standard ID Plicy IMPORTANT: Refer t this table when a client reference ntes "Standard list" as the exam spnsr's ID plicy ID requirements vary between exam spnsrs. Always refer t the exam spnsr s client reference t determine the crrect ID requirements. General ID requirements fr the Frmer Standard ID Plicy: All IDs must be valid (nt expired) and must be an riginal dcument (nt a phtcpy, fax, r digital ID). IDs are valid (nt expired) if they d nt cntain an expiratin date that has passed. If there is n expiratin date n an ID, it is valid. Candidates might present an unsigned ID with a designated place fr a signature. These IDs are acceptable if the candidate signs the ID in frnt f yu. Primary IDs: Must cntain a permanently affixed pht f the candidate and the candidate's signature, unless it is embedded. (See IDs with Embedded Signature in the last bullet.) Candidates are generally required t prvide a primary ID cntaining a pht. This includes when candidates request t nt have their phtgraph taken during the admissins prcess (and the exam spnsr permits this).

2 Secndary IDs: If the exam spnsr requires a secndary ID, it must cntain the candidate's signature. IDs with Embedded Signature: If the ID has n visible signature r ne that is difficult r impssible t read, the candidate may be required t present anther frm f identificatin frm the primary r secndary list which cntains a visible signature. Refer t the exam spnsr s client reference. Any credit card can be used as a secndary frm f ID, as lng as it cntains a signature and is nt expired. This includes majr credit cards, such as VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discver. It als includes department stre and gasline credit cards.) * These frms f identificatin cannt be used as primary identificatin unless specifically indicated in the exam spnsr s client reference. 3 TABLE 2: Pearsn VUE Glbal ID Plicy IMPORTANT: Refer t this table when a client reference ntes Plicy 1, 1S, 2, r 2S as the spnsr's ID plicy. ID requirements vary between exam spnsrs. Always refer t the exam spnsr's client reference t determine which plicy the exam spnsr uses. General ID requirements fr the Pearsn VUE Glbal ID Plicy: All IDs must be riginal (nt a phtcpy r digital ID) and valid (unexpired). IDs are valid (unexpired) if they d nt cntain an expiratin date that has passed. If there is n expiratin date n an ID, it is valid. Candidates might present an unsigned ID with a designated place fr a signature. These IDs are acceptable if the candidate signs the ID in frnt f yu. Primary IDs must be issued frm the cuntry in which the candidate is testing (except fr EU cards). If candidates d nt have a primary ID frm the cuntry in which they are testing, they must present their internatinal travel passprt. Their passprt must be in Rman characters and frm their cuntry f citizenship. Secndary IDs can be issued frm utside the cuntry in which the candidate is testing. These IDs must be in Rman characters s that test administratrs understand them. Otherwise, they are unacceptable. 6 TABLE 3: Additinal Infrmatin Regarding All ID Plicies Nte: The infrmatin in this table is applicable t all ID plicies (bth the Frmer Standard ID Plicy and the Pearsn VUE Glbal ID Plicy) Abut Lcal Language Identificatin Primary identificatin in the lcal language (nn-rman r nn-english) is an acceptable frm f candidate identificatin fr sme exam spnsrs fr thse candidates testing in the cuntry where the identificatin was riginally issued. Must be an unexpired, gvernment-issued ID with pht and signature. The candidate's identificatin card may be in the lcal language nly r it may be in bth Rman characters and in the lcal language. A lcal language ID can nly be used in the cuntry where the identificatin was riginally issued and the exam is being administered. Examples f (but nt limited t): Krea (Driver's license/resident card/citizen card) Hng Kng SAR ID China (Natinal ID, Military ID and Driver's license) India (Driver's license, Vter's ID card, PAN) Malaysia Driver's license Candidate name n identificatin is in the lcal language Rules fr Accepting Lcal Language Identificatin (nn-rman, nn-english) If the lcal language identificatin cntains the candidate's name in lcal language characters and the test administratr can verify the name n the ID with the name n the schedule, the test administratr shuld accept the identificatin and permit the candidate t sign his r her name in the lcal language. The test administratr shuld then cmpare the candidate's signature with the signature r characters presented n the lcal identificatin. T accept a lcal language ID the fllwing must apply: Lcal language ID shuld be valid (nt expired), gvernment issued, and cntain the candidate's phtgraph and signature. If the lcal language ID has the candidate's name and pht but des nt cntain a signature r the signature is embedded: Frmer Standard ID Plicy: Candidates must present signature identificatin frm the list f acceptable primary r secndary identificatin, unless therwise nted by the exam spnsr. Pearsn VUE Glbal ID Plicy: Fllw the guidelines under "Embedded r n signatures" within each plicy in Table 2. Lcal language identificatin must be presented and accepted nly in the cuntry where the lcal language ID was issued and the exam is being administered. Test administratrs must either use the Native Language Details in the Ntes sectin f the Admissins Manager schedule windw in rder t verify the candidate's identificatin r have the ability t translate the candidate's name in the lcal language int the candidate's name (Rman characters) as presented in Registratin Manager. Nte that Admissins Manager is available nly at PPCs, PTCs, PVTCs, and PVTC Selects. See Checking lcal language character IDs in Admissins Manager fr mre infrmatin abut the Native Language Details sectin f Admissins Manager. Always check the exam spnsr's client reference fr any client specific name-matching plicies r ID requirements. If the Native Language Details infrmatin des nt appear in the Ntes sectin f the Admissins Manager schedule windw and the test administratr cannt translate the lcal language ID frm the lcal language t Rman characters, the candidate must present a valid identificatin frm the list f acceptable Primary identificatin which cntains the candidate's name in Rman characters. Test administratrs shuld request that the candidate sign the signature pad

7 (and the rules agreement at PVTCs and PVTC Selects) using the same characters r signature presented n the lcal language identificatin s the test administratr can then verify the candidate's signature against the identificatin. If the candidate signs the rules agreement r signature pad in Rman characters and his r her ID is signed in the lcal characters, r vice versa, the candidate shuld be tld t sign the rules agreement r signature pad the same way he r she signed the ID and be given the pprtunity t sign again. Additinal Infrmatin n Expired Identificatin Any frm f ID that is expired is unacceptable, unless it is accmpanied by renewal paperwrk. If a candidate presents an ID that is expired r invalidated (fr example, the crner f the ID has been clipped), yu may accept the ID as lng as it meets the ther ID requirements and is accmpanied by paperwrk indicating that the candidate has filed fr a renewal. The renewal paperwrk des nt need t cntain a phtgraph and signature. Nte n grace perids: Pearsn VUE des nt recgnize grace perids. Fr example, if a candidate's driver's license expired yesterday and the state allws a 30-day grace perid fr renewing the ID, yu must cnsider the ID t be expired. Nte n Texas driver's licenses: If smene in Texas is in the United States n a visa, the date the visa expires is placed n the Texas driver's license in red. The date the visa expires may be different than the date the license expires. If the candidate presents a driver's license frm the state f Texas and the visa is expired, as indicated in red n the license, the license is cnsidered expired and the candidate shuld nt be permitted t test using the ID. In such cases, candidates are permitted t g get a renewal at the DMV if they can d s within the standard 15 minutes after their scheduled appintment. If the candidate's driver's license shws an expired visa date but the license itself is still gd and he r she brings in the renewed visa shwing it is nw gd, the candidate is permitted t test. Unacceptable Frms f Candidate Identificatin Expired IDs withut renewal paperwrk (Fr mre infrmatin, see Additinal Infrmatin n Expired Identificatin in this table.) IDs with significant damage This includes but is nt limited t the fllwing types f damage: Unfficial markings Unfficial hle punches (See the fllwing nte abut fficial hle punches.) Water damage Significant tears (See the fllwing nte abut fficial crner clippings.) Missing r trn ut pages Nte: Sme expired IDs have fficial hle punches r crner clippings. These IDs are acceptable if they are accmpanied by renewal paperwrk. Fr mre infrmatin, see Additinal Infrmatin n Expired Identificatin in this table. Nrmal wear and tear n IDs is acceptable and nt cnsidered significant damage. Fr example, nrmal wear includes a bend f a passprt due t extensive pening and clsing. Internatinal driver's licenses that are nt issued by a gvernment (These are nt accepted because many rganizatins ffer fake licenses ver the Internet.) Naturalizatin papers IDs frm cuntries subject t U.S. sanctins (Sanctined Cuntries) Pearsn VUE may prvide test delivery services t candidates frm arund the wrld, except fr residents f Syria. Yu can find detailed infrmatin abut U.S. sanctins at The Pearsn VUE legal department regularly reviews these prcedures.
