1 IBM United States Withdrawal Announcement , dated February 7, 2012 Software withdrawal: IBM Rational Software Analyzer selected licenses Table of contents 1 Overview 2 Description 1 Replacement information Overview Effective on the date listed below, IBM will withdraw from marketing, part numbers from the following product release(s) licensed under the IBM International Program License Agreement: Withdrawal from Program marketing number date Program release name 5724-U01 05/08/12 IBM Rational Software Analyzer Replacement information IBM Rational Software is transitioning existing Rational Software Analyzer customers to the appropriate version of Rational AppScan Source Edition. With the release of Rational AppScan Source Edition V8.5, Rational Software Analyzer, features and functionality were merged into AppScan Source Edition. AppScan Source Edition absorbed this functionality and Rational Software Analyzer is end of marketed. Customers will be migrated to the appropriate versions of AppScan Source Edition. Each Rational Software Analyzer Developer Edition license will map to a similar license of AppScan Source Edition for Remediation, and each Rational Software Analyzer Enterprise Edition license will map to a license of AppScan Source Edition for Automation. The product merger is effective for AppScan Source Edition for Remediation and AppScan Source Edition for Developer. Code quality analysis support is available for Java TM and C/C++. IDE support is available for Eclipse and Rational Application Developer. AppScan Source Edition for Automation will support code quality analysis at build time and adds Rational Software Analyzer Enterprise Edition features to AppScan Source Edition for Automation. Rational Software Analyzer customers who are interested in performing IDE-based security scans must upgrade to AppScan Source Edition for Developer and will be required to purchase or have available an AppScan Enterprise Server (new in the V8.5 release). There are a limited number of Rational Software Analyzer features that are not a part of the first generation of the newly combined product. These include Rational Software Analyzer reporting, as AppScan reporting will be used moving forward. Rational Team Concert TM integration will not be included initially, there will not be a quality scan performed prior to Rational Team Concert check-in. 2 architectural discovery rules are not included initially, and C/C++ scans will be completed via the command line.
