2 Summary On February 23, 2017, Lanyon releases new enhancements in New Registration. We have translated our template pages and now give you more options to personalize your events. Translations for 19 Languages. As a planner, you can publish your template pages in 19 languages to personalize the experience for your attendees. You can configure the template pages for your event and then use the translated material that you need. With this update, planners can encourage speakers of more languages to participate in their events. XLS File Export for Languages. As a planner, you can export your events from your site into a native Excel format. With this update, planners can use Microsoft Excel to organize and update their translations. Localization for Website Pages. As a planner, you can now localize your translations to personalize the experience for your attendees. You can use this feature to modify a language to match the vernacular of your attendees. s Customized for Attendees. As a planner, you can now create s based on the translations of your template pages. You can send s to attendees in their language rather than sending automated s in English to non-english speakers. Translated CMS Pages. As a planner, you can translate your Content Management System (CMS) pages into the same languages as your template pages. You can now translate custom content for the language of every attendee. Only Registration Phrases in Export. As a planner, you can export the phrases on the registration pages. Clarify Configurable Text. As a planner, you can go to Manage > Settings > Configurable Text and not see the Configurable Text option. 3 New Features and Improvements This section describes in detail the following changes in this release: Translations for 19 Language XLS File Export for Language Localization for Website Pages Customization for Attendees Translated CMS Pages Only Registration Pages in Export Remove the Configurable Text Translations for 19 Languages To help event planners attract more attendees, we have now translated our template pages into 19 of the most popular languages among our customers. Planners can use the templates to configure webpages for their events in these languages: France French German Spanish Japanese Chinese: Simplified Chinese Traditional Chinese HK Arabic Russian Swedish Italian Korean Netherlands Dutch Brazilian Portuguese Turkish Greek Finnish Danish Hebrew Norwegian Once you select the languages to publish, you can create custom fields and translate those to further personalize your events. With this update, planners can encourage more non-english speakers to register for their events. To See Available Translations 1. Log in to Smart Events Cloud. 2. Click on an event. 3. Click Manage > Translation. 4. At the bottom of the page, click Add New Language > Pre-Translated Standard Language. 5. From the dropdown next to Language, select a language to make it available for your attendees. 6. 4 7. Click Save. 8. Click Publish to the right of the language to make the option available for attendees. To View the Pages 1. Click Promote > Attendee Types. 2. Click the attendee type. 3. Click copy to clipboard and paste the URL in the address bar of your browser. 4. To view the page in another language, click the globe and select the language. XLS File Export for Languages To help planners translate their websites, we now give planners the option to export sites in XLS. They can also import this file type after they have translated it. With the import and export options, planners can always add more information to their sites and then translate the new content later for their attendees. 5 Localization for Website Pages To help planners localize their events for their attendees, we have given planners the option to create and customize a new language from one of our preloaded languages or upload a custom language. Planners can now target languages for a specific audience, including other planners running the event. For example, we provide Metropolitan French, and now planners can add Canadian French and other vernaculars. With this update, planners can create events that are more personal for their attendees. To Download Languages from Smart Events Cloud 1. Log in to Smart Events Cloud. 2. Click on an event. 3. Click Manage > Translation > Add New Language. 4. Click the appropriate option: - Standard Language - Custom Language 5. From the dropdown, select a language to translate. OR For a custom language, type the Language Name. 6. 6 7. Click Save > Export. 8. Check the box next to the pages you need to export for translation. 9. To Export as XLS file, click the radio button next to that option. 10. Select Export All. To Map the Translation to the English Version 1. In the Excel file, find the English version of the phrase in column A. 2. Enter the translated version of the phrase in column B. 3. Save the file. 4. Click Import > Select File to Import. 5. Navigate to the file on your computer. 6. Click the file and click open. 7. Click Import. 8. 7 Customization for Attendees As a planner, you can now create s based on the translations of your pages. You can send s to attendees in their selected language rather than sending automated s in English. With this feature, your attendees can receive their communications from your events in their native language. To Customize Your s 1. Log in to Smart Events Cloud. 2. Click on an event. 3. Click Promote > To translate the , click the orange arrow next to the name of the Click Add Version. 6. Next to Language, select the language from the dropdown. 7. 8 8. Enter the translated Subject of the Enter the translated text in the message. 10. Click Save at the top of the page. Translated CMS Pages To help event planners personalize their events, we have added the option to upload new content to our CMS pages for each available translation of the template pages. After planners publish translations for their template pages, they can also go into the CMS pages for that event and create content in each language they have published. Attendees can now view both the template pages and the site content in their native language. With this update, planners can translate CMS pages into the language of every attendee. To Translate CMS Pages You must translate the content of your website pages. 1. Log in to Smart Events Cloud. 2. Click on an event. 3. To translate your template pages, follow the steps To Download Languages from Smart Events Clouds and To Map the Translation to the English Version above. 4. Click Promote > Website. 5. 9 6. To see the languages published for the page, click the globe next to the page. You must publish template pages for the language to appear in the CMS pages without an exclamation mark. 7. 10 8. To see the translated content, click Preview Browser. Only Registration Phrases in Export To remove confusion for event planners, we have improved our Translation page. Planners can now export only the registration phrases. This enhancement allows planners to pay for or translate only those phrases that are necessary for their event. Remove the Configurable Text To prevent confusion, we have removed the option for event planners and Professional Services to configure their events under Manage > Settings > General.
