In the adopted standard certain terminology and conventions are not identical with those used in Indian Standards; attention is drawn specially to the following: a) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker. b) Wherever the words International Standard appear, referring to this standard, they should be read as Indian Standard. The technical committee has reviewed the provisions of the following International Standards referred in this adopted standard and has decided that they are acceptable for use in conjunction with this standard: International Standard Corresponding Indian Standard ISO 148:1983 Steel Charpy impact test (V-notch) ISO 683-1:1987 Heat-treatable steels, alloy steels and free-cutting steels Part 1: Direct-hardening unalloyed and low-alloyed wrought steel in form of different black products ISO 2328:1993 Fork-lift trucks Hook-on type fork arms and fork arm

The number of significant places retained in the rounded off value should be the same as that of the specified value in this standard.
